What is really Commercial surprising is the number of denominations across the country that are dismissing services that day. UNDERSTANDING THE MESSAGE OF THE PROPHETS “MICAH – HER WOUND IS INCURABLE” “For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem” (Micah 1:9). This entire chapter addresses God’s judgment upon Israel, (The Northern Kingdom), and Judah, (The Southern Kingdom). The Chronicler said that there was no remedy for these nations, “But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, till there was no remedy” (2nd Chronicles 36:16). There is no way to cure one who doesn’t want to be cured. Later on in their history, Jesus said to these same nations, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate” (Matthew 23:37-38). Isaiah told them, “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2). There is no remedy for those who refuse to repent and to return to God. This was the attitude of Israel and Judah, and it is the same attitude of many today. Jeremiah said unto these same nations, “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil” (Jeremiah 13:23). Peter describes this type of people in this manner, “Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:” (2nd Peter 2:14). I do not believe that God was saying that it was impossible for these to change and to be saved. Paul penned, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1st Corinthians 10:13). Thus, God was saying to these people, under their current condition, their great love and passion for sin, the leopard would change his spots and the Ethiopian his skin, before these people would give up their sin. The only sin God refuses to forgive is the sin man refuses to acknowledge and to leave. The Hebrew writer said, “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins” (Hebrews 10:26). There is no remedy; there is no cure for the man who will not accept the cure or the remedy for his sin. For those who continue to rail, (blaspheme), upon God’s remedy, (His Word), after having heard it, there is no hope, “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:” (Mark 3:28-29). Jesus warned, “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). My friend, your sin is only incurable, if you refuse to change. Isn’t it time for you to accept God’s remedy and to turn to Him in repentance, TODAY???
