Strikke oppskrift til Northern lighting Seed

Knitting patterns for Seed - make your own cover Northern Lighting and ESMOD School of Fashion in Oslo had a joint student competition to create the most fashionable fabric cover for the Seed lamp.

Three finalists were selected based on the criterias as estetics, innovation and ability for the consumer to create new covers at home (“DIY-design”). The winner fabric ”ROCK BUDS” was made by Adriana Fjellaker.

A - “Wooden Anatomy” - designed by Nina Therese Agerup Cast on 12 stitches or enough stitches to measure 7 cm Rope thickness: 5 millimeters Knitting needle size: 45 millimeters Beginning: 1st row plain, 2nd row purl Pattern Repeat 1: 116 rows eller 56 cm.

1 row plain.

2 rows purl – knit one purl stitch, cast the wool thread around the rope, repeat until the end of the row.

Pattern Repeat 2: 22 rows.

1 row plain – knit the first 3 stitches, add on 1 stitch, knit until you have 3 stitches left, add on 1 stitch, knit the remaining stitches in the row.

2 rows purl. Purl stitch, cast the wool thread you are knitting with around the rope, repeat until the end of the row.

Pattern Repeat 3: 12 rows.

1 row plain.

2 rows purl. Purl stitch, cast the wool thread you are knitting with around the rope, repeat until the end of the row.

Finish: cast off with plain stitches after finishing the last pattern repeat.

The zip is sewn in by hand, sew 1 round over every second twist of the rope and 2 rounds for the rest so that the rope is neatly bound down. Remember to have an opening at the bottom. Sew the uppermost 9 centimeters together. By pulling on the rope the lampshade cover will be formed according to the lamp when the ® cover sits on the lampshade frame. Snip off excess rope fringes at the end, once northernlighting you know how long they should be. Place inside the knitted piece at the top.

Kule: Ta ut 1 maske, legg opp 4 nye masker slik at du får 5 masker, strikk glattstrikk i 5 ”runder”, fell av til du får 1 maske igjen (F å felle av, skal man ta ut 1 maske og lage 4 nye masker på samme måte som man gjør når man lager masker til første runde). Legg masken tilbake i strikkemønsteret.

Strikk Kulene plasseres i mønsteret.

Bobble: Drop 1 stitch, cast onvidere.

C - “Raw Elastic” - designet av Anny Opsvik

Materiale: buksestrikk Totalt 35 m strikk.

20 cm = 20 m inklusiv ”strekk” som det skal være i lampetrekket. Bruk 5 strikkepinner nr. 7.

Strikk trekket på selve lampehodet på 4 pinner. Strikk resten frem og tilbake på 1 pinne. Legg opp 20 m på pinner nr. 7, dvs. 5 m hver pinne. Strikk glattstrikk.

Fell 2 m hver 4. omgang til du har igjen 8 m på pinnen. Fell så den siste masken midt på, dvs. strikk 3 m – ta 2 m sammen til 1, st

Lamp head frame: Knit with a set of 5 needles (as you do when knitting socks) around the whole head frame. Make sure you increase the number of stitches so that the cover can fit on the lamp head frame. Start with 15 stitches furthest down, and gradually increase so that the knitted cover fits the lamp head frame.

We recommend the cover is washed at 40 degrees (Celsius). This causes the stitches to felt slightly and become more compact before use.

C - “Raw Elastic” - designed by Anny Opsvik Material: stockinette stitch Total 35 stitches per row.

20 cm = 20 stitches includes the ”stretch” allowed for in the actual lampshade cover. Use 5 knitting needles (stocking needles), size no. 7.

Knit the cover on the actual lamp head on 4 needles. Knit the cover directly on to the actual lampshade frame with 4 needles. Knit the remainder back and forth on 1 needle. Knit the rest back and forth on 1 needle. Cast on 20 stitches on needles size no. 7, which means 5 stitches on each needle. Knit plain.

Cast off 2 stitches every 4th row until you have 8 stitches left on the needle. Cast off so the last stitch is in the middle, which means knit 3 stitches – knit 2 stitches together to become 1 stitch, knit 3 m. You now have 7 stitches on the needle.

Knit in glass stitch (glasstrikk) until the piece measures 68 cm. Cast off. The ends are joined by sewing in zigzag stitch with a sewing machine, or preferably by sewing together (with small stitches) by hand.

The cover is sewn together in the side with stockinette stitch.
