All games will be played in line with the RFU Rules of Play for X7's format RFU Guidelines for X7's Format

Please arrive for the coaches’ briefing on time – 09:30am

Maximum of 14 players per team

Half game rule applies

There will be Group round robins which will determine the allocation of teams to the Cup, Plate, Vase, Bowl and Shield semi finals and finals

Please help us keep to schedule and ensure that you arrive for your fixture 2 minutes before and be ready to play

County referees will be provided on the day for all group and knock-out matches.

All games must finish on time. A late start means a shorter game Trophies will be awarded to the Finals winner of each of the knock-out matches.

TIMINGS:

Registration: 9:00 to 9:30 - Meet at control point

Coaches’ Briefing: 9:30am - Meet at control point

Matches: 10:00 am - 2:30 pm latest

Awards: Immediately after last game near AGP entrance

WHAT

IS X 7's FORMAT (IN A NUTSHELL)

7 a side maximum (team size 14 max)

Half Game Rule

SCORING:

Try = 5 points

Try in the max zone (centre of the pitch) = 7 points

The player must cross the try line inside the max score zone – not run round to it within the dead ball area. RUCK:

Maximum 2 players from each team. MAULS:

Maximum of 3 players from each team LINEOUTS:

3 players from each team

No Lifting

Defence must be back 7m. SCRUM:

3 players from each team

Normal Sequence

NO PUSHING

Both teams can contest the hook KICKING:

Kicking only allowed in open play but ONLY GRUBBER KICKS!! RESTARTS:

All sanctions result in a tap and go.

Defence must be 7m back from the mark.
