As we enter the second half of the season there is much to be proud of and cheer about at Oxford Quins! The First XV have had a tremendous start to their season winning 10/11 of their games. Whilst they sit top of Midlands 1, the players and coaching team are not complacent and know that there is a long way to go! We are pleased to welcome our opposition Broadstreet RFC who have had a challenging first half of their season and are yet to record a win. There are no easy games in any league, and we expect to see some good rugby from both teams, kick off is 3pm at Horspath Road.

The Second XV travel to Buckingham on Saturday to take on their First XV, after a very strong start to the season, the team have suffered several defeats but will be looking to get back to winning ways. Despite the recent defeats, the team have remained fully committed and are training hard.

Oxford Quins Third XV welcomes the Wheatley first team to Horspath Road this Saturday with kick off scheduled for 2pm. It is a sign of the club's growth and strength in depth that all our squads face first team opposition. The Mighty 3s have had some tough fixtures this season with 70% of their opposition being first teams. The team were unlucky to lose last week against Oxford RFC and will no doubt be keen to put in a strong performance against another local side.

Sadly, there is no rugby this weekend for our Women's Teams. The First XV fixture last week was against top of the table Bridgnorth RFC and it was an absolute cracker! Whilst we didn't come away with the victory, the performance they put in was one of the best this season.

This week hosted National Volunteer Day, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who supports the club and helps make it all possible and a special thank you to anyone who picks up a whistle! I regularly mention the importance of referees and how there would be no games without them, so please do remember this and show them the same support and recognition as you do for the team that you are cheering on.

I hope you enjoy your weekend and all the rugby that is on offer!

The Oxford Quins Community Programme is delighted to announce the upcoming HAF Christmas Camp, which will take place on the following dates: 21st-22nd December - 8:30am-5:30pm 27th -28th December - 8:30am-5:30pm

This four-day camp will provide kids with a diverse range of activities, Christmas-themed games, and a special visit from Santa, ensuring an enjoyable and festive experience throughout the Christmas holidays.

In addition, our three-day Rugby Camp will take place on: 2nd - 4th January 9.30am - 3.30pm

The event will focus on skill development, game scenarios, and team structures, offering young athletes aged 8-15 the opportunity to enhance their rugby abilities while enjoying the holiday season.

The Oxford Quins Community Programme is eagerly looking forward to hosting these exciting Christmas holiday events and extending a warm welcome to all participants
