Weareexcitedforanotherbigseasonaheadinthecommunitydepartmentat OxfordQuins,afterasuccessfulschoolsandHAFprogrammelastyear,weare lookingtoreachevenmoreschools,andorganiseevenmoremultiactivityand rugbyspecificcampsformembersandthelocalcommunity.
Ontopofthiswearehavingabigpushforgirlsrugbyandalreadywehavehad successfultrainingcampsduringtheSummerwhereanumberofgirlswhohad neverplayedthegamecamealongtoHorspathandenjoyedourfantasticclub andourgreatcoaches.TheLordMayorofOxfordalsovisitedandevengot involvedwithanumberofthedrillsandactivities.
Alsoduringthesummerholidaybreak,weranouranotherHAFcamp,whichis supportedbytheOxfordshirecountycouncil.Thiscampranfor2weeks,andwe hadaround50childrenperdayattending.Ourteamofcoachesprovidedthe childrenwithmulti-sportactivities,partygames,creativelearning,orienteering inShotoverWoods,aswellassupplyinghealthybreakfast,lunch,andsnack optionsdaily.
TheHAFcampsweprovideareessentialforourcommunityastheyprovide parentswiththesupportthatisneededduringtheholidayperiod,providing childrenwithanopportunitytogetinvolvedinnewactivitiesandanew environment,growtheirconfidenceandalsomeetnewpeople.
Ithasbeengreattoseesomeofthesechildrenhavenowbecomemembersat OxfordQuinsandaregearingupfortheirfirstseasonofrugby.TheCommunity Programmeisahugepartofourclubasweprideourselvesonbeingabletogrow thegameofrugbyacrossthecountyandcreateanenvironmentwherepeople canenjoythegame,makenewfriendsandbecomepartoftheQuinsfamily.
RugbyisagameforallandOxfordQuinswantstoopenourdoorstoeveryone whowantstocomealongandgetinvolved.

Thewomen'ssectionatOxfordQuinsisthriving.Wehaveseenlotsofexcitingnew playerswelcomedtothesquadoverpre-seasonandarecontinuallyseeinggood numbersofplayerstraining.ItwasfantastictowelcomebackBrookesWomenon Tuesday,aspartofourBrookesQuinsPartnership-wehadover40womentraining whichwastotallyawesome.
Thepassion,enthusiasmanddrivethewomen'ssectionexudehascreatedatruly wonderfulrugbyenvironment.HavingFinandBeanieheadupourcoachingsetupis excellent,theybothbringsuchawealthofknowledgeandexperienceandarea largepartofleadingthewayonthepositiveculturewehavewithinOxQuins Women.WehavebuiltsomethingreallyspecialandIamveryexcitedaboutwhatis tocome.
SpeakingwithNicolaStanton,ourWomen’sCaptain,shesaid‘’I'mreallylooking forwardtotheseasonaheadfortheQuinsWomen.We’vegotanexcitingnew coachingteamandmanagementsetupandI'vebeenhonouredtobenamed Captain.There’sbeenafewplayerchangesthisyearwithagreatmixof experiencedandnewexcitingplayerswithrawtalent.We’reinanewleaguethis seasonwiththerestructuresoitwillbegreattochallengeourselvesagainstnew oppositionandshoweveryonewhattheQuinsWomenaremadeof!’’

Notonlyareweabletoseetheworldsbestplayerscompetingagainsteachother, butFrancehavemanagedtoputtogetherafantasticeventthathasshowcased everythingthatisgoodaboutthegame. Ihavebeenluckyenoughtoexperienceit overthelastweek,meetingfansfromallovertheworld,fromAustralia,Namibia, ArgentinaandNamibiatonameafew. Theyhaveallshownhowmuchpassionand excitementtheyhaveforrugby.Theatmosphereatallthegameshasbeenbrilliant andtheFrenchforthefirsttimeinalongtimehavereallymarketedandshownrugby tobeatrulyglobalgameforeveryone.
Whoevercomesoutontopatthisyearstournament,rugbywillbeinabetterplace cometheendandIbelieveitwillbemassiveinmotivatingthenextgenerationtoget involvedandstartplayingthegame.
