DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AUGUST 2020

About Sustainable Energy for All Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is an International organization working with leaders in government, the private sector and civil society to drive further, faster action toward achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7), which calls for universal access to sustainable energy by 2030, and the Paris Agreement, which calls for reducing greenhouse gas emissions to limit climate warming to below 2° Celsius. Achieving these goals will require a radical rethink of the way we produce, distribute and consume energy. SEforALL is at the heart of this foundational shift to ensure no one is left behind. Drawing on data and evidence, we identify a critical path to success in achieving SDG7. Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon launched the Sustainable Energy for All initiative in 2011. Now an independent organization, we maintain close links with the UN, including through a relationship agreement, partnerships with UN agencies and with SEforALL's CEO acting as the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Sustainable Energy for All and CoChair of UN-Energy.

SEforALL values • Partnership. Operate within and across partner driven networks, building on its strong relationship with the UN. SEforALL’s global team catalyzes connections, coordinates activities with others, collaborates on common objectives and leverages opportunities to deliver more as a platform than it can do individually. • Agility. Adaptive in its approach so it can stay focused on its goal in an evolving economic and political environment. It brings people together that do not normally talk to each other and frames the questions differently so it can help leaders unlock action and finance. • Diversity. Recognize the diversity of needs across countries and communities and commits to working with all actors in delivering solutions that respond to these differentiated needs. • Equity. SEforALL’s goal is for “all.” Strive for a sustainable energy transition that is just and equitable and leaves no one behind. • Results. Help leaders make the most progress, fastest in areas that make a meaningful contribution to SEforALL’s objectives. It is solutions- oriented. Its values evidence and data. It understands the scale and urgency of the sustainable energy challenge and the need for a holistic systems-based approach. • Trust. Treat information carefully and respects what it is entrusted with as it serves partners and their success.
