All the world’s a stage Owatonna offers numerous opportunities to see live theatrical productions performed on stage throughout the year. Founded in 1966 to bring “culture, art and entertainment to Owatonna and the surrounding communities with active participation by all interested,” Little Theatre of Owatonna now mounts four to five productions a year, with the repertoire ranging from comedy to drama to musical theater. Recent seasons have included the musicals “Don’t Hug Me,” “Quilters,” and “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”; dramas “The Price,” Pack of Lies,” and “The Glass Menagerie”; comedies “I Remember Mama” and “Fruitcakes”; and children’s theater

productions “Charlotte’s Web,” “Puss in Boots” and “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” Little Theatre of Owatonna has a permanent home in the historic West Hills Complex. The Merlin Players — a regional theatrical company that includes many performers from the Owatonna Stage — brings shows on the road to the West Hills theater. 2011-2012 season productions of Little Theatre of Owatonna: • “Arsenic and Old Lace,” classic comedy, Oct. 21-23, 27-28 • “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” musical, Feb. 16-19, 23, 25 • “Proof,” drama, April 20-22, 26,-28 • “Three Little Pigs Out West,” children’s musical, June 15-17, 21-23 Continued on Page 86
