Some of us go to the furthest reaches, and others go to the foot of their bed for daily meditations. Whether you’re going across the globe or just outside your door, we understand the importance of being able to find your Outerknown every day. The Outerknown is part of who you are; it grounds you, resets your day and makes you the best version of yourself. Outerknown is for people who live passionately, strive to be their best, and make the most out of every opportunity, prioritizing their passions amongst the frenzy of life. So get out there, do what you love, whatever makes you happy, and never stop doing it. It doesn’t matter if you’re just getting started or a lifetime expert. If it brings you joy, elevates your spirit, and everything slows down around you…you’re in it. That’s the Outerknown.

SEA JEANS
SEA JEANS: BORN FROM the OCEAN
We don’t want to be just the most responsible jeans available; we want to be the best. With a dedication to durability and timeless style, our SEA JEANS epitomize classic denim. Every stitch, fit, and ocean-inspired wash reflects a passionate attention to detail and deep-rooted love for the water. Our unmatched craftsmanship is attributed to a more methodical pace, breathing in each moment, and taking the time to responsibly refine our denim, ensuring that SEA JEANS continue to stand as a testament to enduring quality. Made in the USA.
THE BEACHCOMBER
ONE SEA JEAN FOR EVERY BODY
Not all jeans are created equal, but the Beachcomber Relaxed Jean is a cut above the rest. Originally designed as a relaxed fit for our men's line, we quickly realized its potential as the perfect universal-fitting blue jean after seeing it on the women. Our most generous fit, meant to be worn baggy, low at the hip, and roomy through the entire leg to nail that whole effortlessly cool vibe. Seen here on our friend Phoenix Ama, typically a size 26, rocks a size 32 here— the very same pair that Louis Solywoda is wearing (right). The more you size up, the more relaxed and slouchier the fit.
On the Ocean:
"It’s my sanctuary. Moody, soft, violent, and just way bigger than me in so many ways. It’s humbling and challenging, yet graceful and mighty. The ocean is always there, and I can count on that."

THE BHT HENLEY
THE BIG HEAVY TEE
When we first launched the men's BHT, it flew off the shelves, with women buying them too. So, we created a tailored version with added side slits and a whole lotta vibe for our ladies and a new classic henley fit for the guys. Both styles crafted from the same best-selling, heavier-weight jersey made with Regenerative Organic Certified® cotton that feels more like a knit than a tee in slightly easier fits than the rest.

RECYCLED YARNS, KNIT’S A VIBE
Outerknown has a decade-long history of making extremely versatile sweaters with endless layering potential. What sets ours apart is the beautiful surface textures created by stitches that elevate these fall staples. And the coolest thing about these sweaters? They’re all made with recycled fibers. Sorted, recycled, and spun in Italy to create yarns that are made with recycled sources, which help to divert pre- and postconsumer textile waste from landfills, keeping valuable fibers back in circulation.

LAUREN JOHNSON CERAMICIST
Objects Made of Clay
Ceramicist Lauren Johnson is no quiet studio dweller. She cheers when she finishes a piece she absolutely loves, cries her eyes out when she can't seem to center the clay, cusses out the kiln when it reveals a less-than-stellar creation, and sheds tears of joy when her hands feel in tune. Lauren doesn't just make pottery; she has a self-proclaimed "therapy session" while creating masterpieces, embracing how the clay makes her feel. "Daydreaming and engineering a work of art into physical existence brings me a sense of purpose and brightens the duller parts of my life." Inspired by Mother Nature some days and her vivid imagination other days, the Denver-based artist and model has mastered the art of tuning out the chaos, slowing down her movements with intention, and tuning in to her mind and body. We were lucky enough to work with Lauren for our 2024 shoots and learn more about how she finds her Outerknown, on and off the pottery wheel. Read more at outerknown.com/blogs/journey

THE SOJOURN POCKET TEE
PURPOSE BUILT AND STILL THE BEST SINCE 2015
This tee has been a signature for us since the beginning. Crafted with the finest and softest organic Pima cotton from Bergman Rivera in Peru, this tee has set the standard for Outerknown since 2015. Bergman is our longest-standing supplier, and for good reason, they know how to make a great tee. From fit to feel to responsibility, our community agrees— and lasting quality so good our founders still wear their originals! In 2022, we embraced a beautiful evolution, transitioning
to making the Sojourn with Regenerative Organic Certified® cotton. This shift, driven by Bergman’s community of farmers and their regenerative agriculture practices, has made our Sojourn Series even more iconic. While we didn’t invent the t-shirt, we definitely made it better, more sustainable, and longer lasting with a long, lean fit that has remained unchanged since Kelly was photographed in his San Clemente backyard in the brand’s early days (see above).
On the Ocean:
"I’m just overflowing with gratitude and appreciation for all that the ocean, lifeguarding and body surfing have given me...The older I get the happier and more appreciative I am for all of this."

A HEAVY DOSE OF NOSTALGIA
You know our Nostalgic Sweater when you see it; it's worn like a badge of honor. Those vibrant, retro-inspired rainbow stripes on the sleeves and the softest waffle knit fabric. This is our homage to the golden age of '70s board sports, an era we hold close. For the newest addition to our
fall Nostalgic Sweater lineup, we dropped an even more vintage-inspired rainbow sleeve style in a warm, feel-good Beachwood color. Of course, it felt only fitting to be worn first by a legend in his own right, pro skater Eric "TUMA" Britton, in his hometown of Venice Beach, Calif.

In the Lineup
Louis Solywoda's journey combines creativity, adventure, and a deep connection to his roots in Hawaii. Born and raised in Oahu, Louis's childhood was immersed in the rhythms of the ocean and the beats of a guitar. His path led him to become a multifaceted artist—blending music, modeling, photography, and storytelling. His modeling career began unexpectedly as a teenager, leading him to work with brands across the globe. His heart remained anchored in music and his home, where he returned to nurture his creative spirit and
raise his family. His musical talent has flourished into a passion for songwriting and performing, expressing themes of love, resilience, and the spirit of aloha. Louis's aspirational journey is the epitome of what it means to "Find Your Outerknown." We enjoyed shooting with the Hawaii local for our 2024 catalogs and learning more about his passionate commitment to sustainability, adventure, and pushing to the furthest reaches. A Collaboration 100 Years in the Making
TOM BLAKE'S VISIONARY LIFESTYLE laid the foundation for the "Beach Culture" we cherish today. His innovative mindset led him to become the first surfboard shaper of the twentieth century, and in 1926, he crafted the very first hollow surfboard, revolutionizing the sport forever. As an extraordinary athlete, his swimming records were just seconds behind the legendary Duke Kahanamoku, a close friend and companion. Together, they surfed the waves of
Waikiki, worked as lifeguards in Santa Monica, and graced the silver screen in the golden age of Hollywood. They were the first to bring their beach boy style to the world, in and out of the water. Outerknown exists today because of their legacy. Tom's pioneering spirit from a century ago is the same spirit we channel daily at Outerknown. This collaboration allows us to share Tom's story with a new generation of surfers and ocean enthusiasts alike.

NICOLE POPPELL
ARTIST
“All of my artwork has some sort of tie or inspiration from nature, whether it’s super abstract or not. What interests me the most are the textures and the shapes you can pull from everything around you. An abstraction of observation from nature.”
Nicole Poppell is Outerknown in human form; Warm, inviting, and happy to be here. And her art, well, that speaks a language all its own; Big, bold botanical shapes in earth-tone shades grooving together across the wall as one beautiful piece. The Phoenix native painted an environmentalinspired mural inside our shop at The Point in El Segundo, Calif., a few weeks back. Visitors had the chance to watch the art unfold in real time, and we got to hear more about Nicole’s journey from interior architecture to mural painting and founding her own art installation company.
