Different since the beginning. The Outerknown Blanket Shirt.

The Outerknown Blanket Shirt is an inseparable part of our brand's story.

What started with a stack of vintage blankets in the corner of our studio became the very first Blanket Shirt and has been the undisputed hero of our brand ever since. Our responsibly built, wear-wherever icon that elevates quality and detail—the Blanket Shirt offers that instantly lived-in, vintagesoft feel the second you throw it on. The kind of shirt that makes your body smile. Your modern 'ole faithful, the Blanket Shirt, is the layer always waiting for you on the passenger seat after an early morning surf before work, that still buttons up for a boardroom meeting or dinner that same night. It always smells a little like surf wax and sea mist, but mostly like your partner because it's so friggin' cozy that they wear it too. Featuring a design unchanged since the beginning, the Blanket Shirt is woven with the softest, lofty 100% organic cotton, using tagua corozo nut buttons foraged straight from the forest floor. It's not your average flannel; consider this piece a keeper of memories that only gets better with age. Your loyal co-pilot through all of life's road trips.

SAGE ERICKSON SURFER

For the Love of Land and Sea

Sage Erickson's story begins in Ojai, California, where she was born, but it was the warm waters of Hawaii at the age of nine, paddling out at Sunset Beach, that sparked her love of surfing. Upon moving back to California, she earned her spot in the lineup, surfing legendary spots up and down the California coast, quickly rising through the amateur and pro junior circuits. In 2012, Sage debuted on the Championship Tour, navigating the challenges of the early years before finding her rhythm. Her defining moment came in 2017 when she claimed her first CT victory at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach. Out of the water, she's equally impressive, using her platform to promote wellness, empower young women, and advocate for ocean conservation. Sage deeply respects the ocean, health, wellness, and living in sync with nature. Her passion for life, people, and this planet are immense, and we're proud to be a platform for her voice and creativity.

Made with Recycled Wool

It’s time we changed the wool we use for good. And thanks to our Italian partner, Manteco®, we are succeeding in that mission with new pinnacle wardrobe staples and some of the best pieces we’ve ever made, like the North Beach Bomber, Station Jacket, and Ambassador Blazer. Manteco®, known for its innovative and sustainable textile solutions, takes great pride in its recycled wool. This low-impact and high-end fiber is the result of more than 80 years of circular know-how, innovation, and science. Each of these pieces is made with 100% recycled materials, sorted, recycled, spun, and woven in Italy by Manteco®, creating a plush recycled fabric. This helps to divert pre- and post-consumer textiles from landfills and put this valuable fiber back into circulation. Even more impressive is the colors of these garments are made from combining recycled pre- and post-consumer waste, which helps spare any additional water or dyestuffs.

THE AMBASSADOR BLAZER

The ultimate travel blazer thanks to a robust wool construction that lets you easily stuff it in the bottom of your bag worry-free. Pull it out when you need it, and it's ready to go. Crafted from a hearty boiled wool and built for unexpected ceremonies and impromptu occasions.

NORTH BEACH BOMBER

A standout piece in our line, crafted in a limited run of just 150 jackets. This bomber is the perfect layer–rugged enough to be your city shell, tough enough to travel anywhere, and when the fog rolls in, it's warm enough to cut through the coastal chill (hence the name). Purposely made in a gorgeous, recycled wool and recycled nylon Melton construction that adds a modern edge across any look. This is a special piece, a design team favorite, and the pinnacle layer in our women's assortment.

STATION JACKET

A working-class icon inspired by 1930s and '40s wool sport jackets. With a nearly three-dimensional shadow plaid and authentic details like the chunky YKK zipper and tabs with buttons on the back for fit adjustment, this piece is a nod to timeless craftsmanship. We spared no expense, using the finest recycled wool and blended recycled nylon for a hearty feel and lined it with plush recycled fleece pile for ultimate comfort.

Third-Generation Dogtown

Eric “TUMA” Britton remembers the first time he rode a skateboard well. At only 5 years old, he trekked up a small downhill driveway next to his house, stepped on his orange plastic Wham-O skateboard, and took off. Bombing the little hill, he grabbed the skateboard rail tightly into a power slide right on the sidewalk. From that moment on, he was hooked. “I remember saying to myself, ‘I want to do this for the rest of my life’ having no idea that there was even a path to follow. Years later, I ended up meeting the Dogtown Z-Boys who took me under their wings, and the rest is history.” Born and raised in the heart

of Venice Beach, Calif., Eric is what he refers to as “thirdgeneration Dogtown.” Growing up around legendary Z-Boys Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, Jay Adams, Shogo Kubo, and Jim Muir, it was only fitting he fell into professional skateboarding. Now, as a retired pro, Eric channels his knowledge and passion for skating into teaching his “TUMA Method” to young aspiring skaters in the very hometown he made history in. We had a chance to shoot Eric for our 2024 catalogs and learn more about how he finds his Outerknown beyond the skate park. Read more at outerknown.com/blogs/journey

THROUGH THE LENS OF

TODD GLASER

San Diego-born photographer, surfer, and waterman Todd Glaser has blazed an inspiring trail in the art world from a very young age. A SURFER Staff Photographer for over a decade, Todd's versatility extends across land, water, and lifestyle photography. Beyond his photographic prowess and career as Kelly Slater's primary photographer, Todd's documentary approach played a pivotal role in Outerknown's earliest days. From traveling to Japan and Slovenia with the brand to shooting the launch of our SEA JEANS program on Kelly and local North Shore lifeguards, he has

immersed himself in the brand's narrative, visually chronicling its genesis before a single piece of furniture filled our office. His visual storytelling continues to encapsulate the essence of Outerknown's journey, making Todd Glaser not just a photographer but an integral part of the brand's story. Of course, it only felt right that his sunny Southern California-based photos hang in our Carlsbad shop. We're excited for the launch of his new surf photo book featuring his iconic shots of Kelly Slater over the years. Head to our San Diego shop to meet the legend in person for a book signing.
