Cape Town Pride is the envy of every host city across the continent of Africa. It was voted the continent’s best Pride event by InterPride, the World Pride body.
Its diverse and wide ranging events calendar is by far the most extensive, not only in Africa, but in in most of the world as it hosts mnore than 25 events during Pride month, in February
Outreach Africa hosts the annual 4-week long Cape Town Pride Festival culminating in the Cape Town Pride Parade and Mardi Gras, as well as other events throughout the year.
We also produce the Cape Town Pride magazine detailing all the events and personalities involved in Pride as well as providing a vehicle for the sponsors who support our community.
Cape Town Pride is a diverse and inclusive event attended by members of the LGBTIQA+ community of all races, faiths, genders, sexual orientations, as well as straight allies and supporters.
We came together as Cape Town LGBT+ Community Pride in 2014 to find a way to deliver a world-class Pride that the City of Cape Town can be proud of. And to this end we have been highly successful ...
We continue to fight for true equality and challenge prejudices that the LGBTIQA+ community faces on a daily basis.
OUR MISSION
• Be fully inclusive of all sections of the LGBT+ community
• Provide a celebration of LGBT+ life and a platform to continue the fight for equality and to challenge prejudice
• Establish Cape Town Pride on a sustainable footing and grow the festival over time to serve better the needs of Cape Town’s LGBT+ community
• To promote Cape Town as a beacon to the world as a LGBT+ destination
• We aim to be transparent as far as possible.
• We are also committed to engaging with residents, businesses and other groups who are involved in or affected by Pride.
