southeastern id THE BUYING-DINING-IDENTIFYING CARD Your Southeastern ID is used across campus: Getting into your residence hall, working out at the gym, and attending campus events are all made easy with this multi-purpose card.

The primary uses of your Southeastern ID include: • Student Identification • Lion’s Lagniappe • Meal Plans • Cub Cash • Residence hall access • Access to sporting events • Access to special campus events • Campus transportation (Lion Traxx) As a Southeastern student, you are required to have a university issued ID which you will receive during your Orientation session. Should you ever lose your ID, you can report it lost (or found) to University Police, the Campus Card Operations office, or online at southeastern.edu/GET. The Southeastern ID truly is your buying-dining-identifying card. Learn more about the Lion’s Lagniappe account and the easy, online way to manage your account on the next page.

lion’s lagniappe NO CASH? NO WORRIES! USE YOUR SOUTHEASTERN ID TO MAKE PURCHASES ON AND OFF CAMPUS. WHAT IS IT? The Lion’s Lagniappe Account allows your Southeastern ID to work like a debit card. There’s no cost to open the account and you can add funds at anytime. With Lion’s Lagniappe there’s no need to carry cash with you. Just swipe your ID to make a purchase and the amount is automatically deducted from your account. It’s that easy!

WHERE CAN I USE IT? You can use your Lagniappe account to make on-campus purchases at the Bookstore, Document Source, the Student Activity Center, the Health Center, vending machines, and all dining facilities, as well as visit several off-campus merchants. Complete list of Lagniappe locations can be found at southeastern.edu/GET. HOW CAN I MANAGE THE ACCOUNT? You can manage your account online with GET or using the GET Mobile app on your smartphone. This allows you to make deposits, track your Lagniappe and Cub Cash balances, view transaction histories, report an ID lost or found, and access the complete list of places where Lagniappe and Cub Cash can be used.

HOW DO I SIGN UP? You can activate Lion’s Lagniappe during registration in LeoNet with the following steps: • Go to the Southeastern home page at southeastern.edu • Click on MyDen at the top right corner • Click on LeoNet -- Students will log in using your University ID (W number) and given password. Your initial password is “S” plus your birth date. (example:SMM-DD-YYYY) Once you have logged on, follow these instructions to register for a Lion’s Lagniappe Account: • Click on Self Service • Select Plan/Lagniappe • Search to Select Registration Term • In the Lion’s Lagniappe box, select the option that applies: • $50 Lion’s Lagniappe • $100 Lion’s Lagniappe • $250 Lion’s Lagniappe • $500 Lion’s Lagniappe • Click Save You can also visit southeastern.edu/ GET to activate and manage the account online or download GET Mobile to have access to all of the GET features right from your iPhone or Android mobile device.

ASCENSION & TWELVE OAKS HALLS Ascension Hall and Twelve Oaks Hall were opened in Fall 2018. Features of these halls include: • Four-story buildings on the western side of campus, north of Union Ave. • 556 beds available in a mix of shared rooms and private single suites • Community corner lounges for socializing and quiet study rooms • Technology enhanced living/learning classroom space capable of seating up to 40 • Wireless card readers for added security, which provides secure building and individual room entry • Ascension Market (open to all students)

Priority assignment for Ascension Hall will be given to students enrolled in the Southeastern’s Honors program.

Priority assignment for Twelve Oaks Hall will be given to returning residents who lived on campus the previous semester. However, all students who have an interest in living in Twelve Oaks Hall are encouraged to include it in their preferences when completing the housing application.

All rooms are assigned based on priority date, which is the date that the completed housing application, processing fee, and room pre-payment are submitted.

Many of the events and programs that are offered in these halls are made available to all of our residents. Ascension Hall and Twelve Oaks Hall enhance an already-bustling residential community with opportunities for new social, academic, dining, and cultural experiences.

Amenities include two twin extra long bunk-able beds, two desks, two chairs, two armoires, microfridge, sink, shower and climate control. Internet and basic cable are included per person. Mail services available. Best suited for Freshmen. One all-female hall available.

Residence Halls - Single Suite $3,600/semester Two students share a kitchenette area and bathroom with each having a private bedroom. Amenities include one twin extra long bed, one desk, one chair, a closet, sink, bathtub/shower, climate control, Internet, and basic cable connection per bedroom. Mail services available. Best suited for second semester Freshmen and Sophomores.

Southeastern Oaks Apartments $4,200/semester (2BR) $3,500/semester (4BR) Two and four bedroom, single-occupancy units are available to students with at least 30 credit hours and a minimum 2.3 GPA. Each unit is fully furnished with a sofa, chair, two end tables, and entertainment center and climate control in the common area. The kitchen includes a dining table with chairs, stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. Each bedroom includes a double bed, desk, dresser and closet. Four bedroom units include two bathrooms and two bedroom units include one bathroom. Bathrooms include bathtub/shower and a storage closet. Amenities include utilities, Internet, and basic cable service. Phone service is not included but is available. Mail services available.

The Village Residence Hall - Double Rooms $2,525/semester See Residence Halls - Shared Rooms for unit descriptions and amenities. This hall houses potential female Greek residents and requires a minimum 2.7 GPA. Mail services available.

Cardinal Newman Hall - Double Suite $2,525/semester Cardinal Newman Hall is a newly renovated, coed residence hall featuring four person suites. Each suite includes a full bathroom. Bedroom amenities include extra long beds, desk space, closets and built in storage. Priority placement to this hall is given to students with science or technology majors. Mail services available.

Our meal plans are flexible so you can get the most out of them. With the exception of the Commuter 300 Plan and Pack 30 + Home Chef Plan, there are two parts to each meal plan. The Meal Allowance enables you to choose how many all-you-care-to-eat meals you want included in your plan (these meals are consumed at the Mane Dish). Cub Cash is declining balance dollars and supplements the weekly meal allowance to be used at all campus food service locations. With the Pack 30 + Home Chef Plan, you receive a Meal Allowance, Cub Cash, and a voucher from Home Chef Once you have your meal plan, your student ID works like a debit card. Just swipe your card, and the meal charge is deducted from your account.

Left over Cub Cash?

If you have a resident plan, your Cub Cash balance rolls over from fall to spring semester. However, any unused balance at the end of the spring semester will expire. With a commuter plan, Cub Cash will roll over until used.

However, if your voluntary or commuter plan is left dormant for over one year, it will expire.

Grubhub is a free mobile app that allows you to order food and beverages from Dining Services using your smartphone.

Simply download the app, locate Southeastern Louisiana University, browse the dining menus, make your menu selections, then pay using your Cub Cash, Lion’s Lagniappe, credit card, or debit card. When you arrive at the dining location, look for the yellow ‘pick-up-here’ sign, and grab your order. It’s just that easy!

RENT Save $$$ with our textbook rental program. Pay your fees and pickup your rental books with your Southeastern ID before classes start.

READ Your rental textbooks are now yours to use throughout the semester.

Refer to them as suggested by your professors and as needed to provide assistance with your studies.

RETURN Return your rental textbooks by posted deadline to avoid fines. Anyone can return your rental textbooks.

student union DINE. RELAX. STUDY. SHOP. ATTEND EVENTS AND MORE! The War Memorial Student Union is the hub of activity on campus. With over 180,000 square feet of space, students are able to experience campus life in one location with centralized dining services, meeting spaces, and support services for their convenience.

A place for students to meet and eat, the Student Union features a food court, convenience store, the Mane Dish buffet-style restaurant, as well as a catering department for events on campus. Space is available to accommodate a range of attendees from 25 to 1,000. Students can choose from the formal Grand Ballroom space to a variety of lecture/classroom style meeting rooms to fit their needs. “Hang out” space invites students to study with small groups or just relax between classes.

Support services such as The Center for Student Excellence, University Counselling Center and the University Health Center are all located in the Union to promote each student’s academic, mental, and physical well-being.

The Division of Student Affairs offices are also located in the union making it a convenient stop for a variety of student services.

Also located in the Student Union is the University Bookstore where Southeastern gear, school supplies, grab and go snacks, and more can be purchased. The Bookstore also offers short-term visitor parking to accommodate off-campus shoppers.

university center CHEER ON LION AND LADY LION BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL AND ATTEND SPECIAL EVENTS. Home of Lion basketball and Lady Lion basketball and volleyball, the University Center (the “UC”) is a versatile facility used for not only hosting basketball games and tournaments, but also other events ranging from small group meetings to tradeshows, graduations, concerts, and more. Each summer, the UC is utilized by a number of cheer and dance teams from across the region as their camp headquarters. A variety of university-sponsored events for Southeastern students are held at the facility throughout the semester. The facility also houses a number of administrative offices for the University, including a complete basketball office complex and two television studios.

We rely heavily on feedback from our students when considering new products and services or changes to existing ones. Through online surveys, in-person questionnaires, online feedback forms, focus groups, and even direct requests, we listen to what our students are saying!

The Auxiliary Services Student Advisory Board acts as a focus group to represent the student population at Southeastern concerning their opinions regarding the products and services made available by the Auxiliary Services Departments.
