Blxckbird is a multifaceted lifestyle brand that elevates the standard of excellency by providing intentionally curated moments that foster a sense of identity, culture, and liberation to cultivate a holistic sensorial experience that leaves an imprint on the guests’ minds.

Reflecting on the words of Nina Simone, we have continuously been told, through our various identities, “why you wanna fly Blackbird? you ain't ever gonna fly "

Yet we find the courage within ourselves to fly
Let's fly together!
"Blxckbird is a love letter to myself It is a love letter to my peers It is an ode to my community " - Jordan Broiles
Blxckbird is you.
Blxckbird is me. Blxckbird is us.

Blxckbird Solar System

Every planet has its distinct functionality and can function on its own while simountensly harmonizing together.

3PlanetsoftheBlxckbirdUniverse

These three planets (elements) are the foundation of the sustainability of the Blxckbird Universe. We intend to utilize the method of storytelling rooted in culture to create sensorial moments that leave a lasting impression on the guest's mind

We

This
We intend to partner with local dining restaurants in the metro area to provide curated speakeasy-inspired
experiences in hope of bringing awareness to different dining options in the city
This space is an ode to our inner child that imagines infinite possibilities When we read it’s a form of escapism and or our ability to contextualize the world around us Books can be the catalyst for the renewing of our minds We intend to curate a community (virtually & in-person) of people who bond over reading literature written by Black authors by curating a bi-monthly book club with a live conversation with blxckbird following
A sub-section of this is our non-profit entitled Blxckbird Book Fair which will partner with local urban schools in the OKC area to provide kids with free donated books and a space to talk about the importance of reading and how it can be a tool for different life outcomes Our overall intention is to help reaffirm the stories of black authors while encouraging youths to utilize reading to further their imaginations Especially at a time when our books are getting banned from telling our truths

Here a few examples

On July 22, 2022,

I co-hosted an evening called "To Be Young, Black, and Gifted" an ode to Lorraine Hansberry and Nina Simone. This evening consisted of an exclusive 3course wine and dinner tasting experience with wine provided by Tenuta Regaleali Estate wine and food prepared by Chef Ashley Gonzalez at Patrono while engaging in conversations about being a young black professional here in Oklahoma City
Patrono hosts a monthly wine education dinner which comes with a three-course chef-paired menu for $60 a person Each guest (9) paid for their ticket

Before the event, I provided these reflections questions to help guide the conversations:
1 2 3

How do you feel being a young Black professional in OKC?

sponsor a classroom and provide each student with a book by a Black author. We sponsored Tobie John’s 3rd-grade class at Martin Luther King Elementary Jr in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma!

We provided an amazon wishlist link of books written by Black authors and invited the community to purchase their donated books. We raised 91 books!
We attended the student's classroom and provided them each a book for them to enjoy over the holiday.

Here's an example of the planets harmonizing together ....
“A Blxckbird Holiday” was a speakeasy-inspired event about a story of a blackbird discovering his power to fly.

Each element fo the night connected to each of the 3 planets. The event was held at the 21C Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City, OK. Food was catered by Marry Eddy's.

The event started with a cocktail hour consisting of a complementary glass of champagne and an opportunity for guests to view the hotel art and mingle with each others

Am’re Ford performed a series of holiday songs that is near dear to our hearts. Followed by a one night only performance of Winter Wonderland from Jaidyn Broiles.

We ended the evening in Mary Eddy's private dining space with our dining experience prepared by the staff and chef.

Guest were asked to donate at least one book to the Blxckbird Library for our Blxckbird Book Fair.

Each event will have some form of recap content that will be shared with the community It is important for us to have timestamps of our lived experience so we can see ourselves reflected while also creating something for future generations to see and admire.
