BOPSS Athletics
Our Girls and Boys Futsal teams travelled to the Nationals in Wellington over Summer Tournament week. The girls went on to finish 4th at the National tournament and the boys went on to win their division.
As a school we had 36 students compete at the BOP Secondary Schoools Athletics Championships held at the Tauranga Domain on Tuesday 9th March. The following are the students with top results which qualified them to compete at the Waikato Athletics Champs.
Triathlon
Junior Girls: Grace Duncan – 1st 1500m Greta Stripling - 4th 100m, 2nd Long Jump, 2nd Triple Jump Miah Smith - 3rd High Jump Lily Frieswyk - 3rd Triple Jump, 2nd Hurdles Junior Girls Relay - 4th
We had one student, Sophie Garrett, who won the BOP Secondary Schools Triathlon, travel to the New Zealand Secondary Schools Triathlon in New Plymouth in the final weekend of Summer tournament week. Sophie competed extremely well but unfortunately had a fall on the cycle but managed to carry on and finish the race which was awesome. Congratulations Sophie.

Rugby Academy The Rugby Academy is a values based programme. attended by 50 young men and women each Wednesday during term 1. These young people work hard under the watchful eye of a professional trainer. The Academy concept has been an overwhelming success for our school’s rugby programme while also developing wonderful human-beings. Student engagement has been incredibly high and all intended outcomes have been achieved. The Academy will begin again in Term 4 and will include our Intermediate students. 28
