Meth research P5
BY PENNY GAYLOR Not to be over-dramatic, but buckets of money are set to replace ckets of ate as t e Ōtaki i ic Theatre receives $851,000 for overdue building repairs. The Government has announced a substantial grant of $500,000 from the Provincial Growth Fund, and as led ed 351, to complete the work on the historic building. Pictured right, Barny Thorpe, esident of t e Ōtaki la e s o lease t e t eat e f om , olds t e sc ed le of t e 37 e ai s t at will be addressed thanks to the grants.
The biggest expense will be a new roof which in turn will mean less money is spent on buying buckets to collect the rain water coming through the leaking roof. Other repairs include the crumbling concrete on the outside of the building, which will then enable the painting of the entire exterior of the building, improvements to the toilets, and addressing multiple holes in the ceiling.
