At Ohio State, WE welcome you.

Many campuses. One Ohio State. WHATEVER YOUR PATH, EVERY DEGREE IS AN OHIO STATE DEGREE. Live and learn in the environment that suits you best. At our regional campuses, you’ll enjoy the caliber and opportunities of a Big Ten university close to home. And know that no matter which campus you graduate from, your diploma will read The Ohio State University.

The regional campus advantage • Admittance offered to any Ohio resident who graduated from an accredited Ohio high school • Lower tuition and same great faculty you’ll find on the Columbus campus • A smaller campus and close-knit community • Access to research opportunities, internships, study abroad and capstone courses

WHY “THE” OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY? “The” has been part of the university’s name from the beginning, and that little word has grown to have big meaning. We emphasize the (pronounced “thee”) to express our school pride. We rally around THE MEANS WE to celebrate what we can accomplish together.

• Chance to participate in popular Columbus campus activities (football games, student orgs, sports clubs and more!)

You can complete a number of degrees, or start any major, at a regional campus. • Choose from 200+ majors and minors, including emerging and high-demand career fields. • Complete one to three years in any Ohio State degree program or complete a growing number of Ohio State degrees in Marion. • Seamlessly transition to the Columbus campus after completing 30 course hours with a 2.0 GPA or higher. (A few majors require a higher GPA; talk to us for details.)

Engineering Technology

Alex takes the skills he has learned in the engineering technology classrooms and gains real-life experiences through an innovative collaboration between Ohio State Marion, Tri-River’s RAMTEC, and the Marion Community Foundation. Alex and other Engineering Technology students receive hands-on lab experiences in our state-of the-art Science & Engineering Building — a personalized and cost-effective learning environment. Ohio State Marion collaborates closely with regional manufacturers to offer immersive and applicable internship and senior capstone experiences including Anderson Windows, Fidelity, Whirlpool, ArcelorMittal Tubular, Sakamura Machine Co., LTD., and others. Area engineering professionals also engage with our students through the program’s Engineering Seminar Series.

English

Food insecurity is a major issue on college campuses across the country, but thanks to this group of Buckeyes in one Ohio State Marion English course, the decision to raise funds to support their campus-based food pantry and “Friendly Fridges” helps ensure the shelves are stocked for those in need. Putting their professional writing and marketing skills to use, Karlie and a team of sixteen Ohio State Marion students help raise funds for the Marion Campus Food Pantry, sponsored by Kit and Lori Fogle Family Farm. The pantry, which is part of the university student-run Buckeye Food Alliance, helps battle food insecurity issues at Ohio State. Senior Lecturer Amy Tibbals’ English 3304 Business and Professional Writing course used Ohio State’s BuckeyeFunder online fundraising platform as part of this unique spring semester project.

Neuroscience

Louis, an Ohio State Marion neuroscience major, is on the cutting edge of cancer research at Ohio State. His faculty mentor, Associate Professor of Molecular Genetics Dr. Ruben Petreaca, connected Louis to the undergraduate research opportunity with The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. “We are looking at a gene called PolE. It is known as a tumor suppression gene,” Louis said. “It has already been linked to a variety of diseases and cancers. When cells mutate, it seems like this gene is the main tumor suppression gene in that area of the body.” “The research potentially allows us to predetermine whether people would be predisposed to get colorectal cancer. If this is shown to have a strong correlation, they can get pre-screened and help prevent formation of cancers before they have spread,” he added. Louis is one of a small handful of students across the university awarded the Pelotonia Undergraduate Scholarship for cancer research. OSUMARION.OSU.EDU | 9

Every student can achieve great things here.”

Ohio State Marion has absolutely blown away my expectations.” “I never expected to fall so in love with the campus. I feel so welcomed on campus and have a place in which I belong.
