“To be a successful team, you need to be resilient and to respond to any kind of setback. We did that in Italy and it’s a good character trait to have as a team. After the first four rounds we are the top Welsh side in the URC and that is significant due to us being rock bottom when this coaching team came in. It’s obviously very early days and we are happy to be there, but the challenge is where we are at the end of this campaign.

RJ, who is originally from Neath, moved to Encinitas, San Diego but is coming home for the weekend with his 9-year-old son, Hudson, who is rugby mad. This is Hudson’s first trip over the Atlantic to Wales and his first ever Ospreys game. Hudson has taken up rugby in the USA and is a keen player as well as an avid Ospreys supporter. By coming to the Swansea.com Stadium, RJ and Hudson have covered a distance of over 5,320 miles. An impressive journey to support the boys tonight. READ MORE Croeso i Gymru, RJ a Hudson!

ALEX CUTHBERT
Alex Cuthbert has been there, done it and is now wearing an Ospreys shirt. The wing won a Grand Slam and a Six Nations title with Wales and is a British and Irish Lions Test series winner. “I just want to enjoy every moment and every experience. The wings at the Ospreys are pretty sharp.”

FOUNDED 1879 CAPTAIN PETER O’MAHONY HEAD COACH JOHANN VAN GRAAN GROUNDS THOMOND PARK & MUSGRAVE PARK CURRENT FORM W W W W
MUNSTER RUGBY Munster currently sit in third place in the championship table behind fellow Irish provinces Ulster and Leinster, all three unbeaten in the season thus far. A notoriously powerful side, Munster are renowned for their imposing pack and relentless physicality. However, the team in red have expanded their game and offer threats across the field with the likes of Joey Carberry, Keith Earls, Chris Farrell, and Andrew Conway among the backline. Munster opened their URC campaign with a convincing 42-17 victory over Cell C Sharks, followed up with a 34-18 win over DHL Stormers to make it 2 from 2 against the South African sides. They next put Scarlets to the sword with a 13-43 down in Parc y Scarlets before snatching victory from the jaws of defeat with a late try in their first interpro of the season against Connacht at Thomond Park. Munster won’t be taking their second trip to west Wales lightly, with head coach Johann van Graan already highlighting that the “Ospreys will be a tough nut to crack” down at the Swansea.com Stadium. The Ospreys, having already tasted defeat at home two weeks ago, will be eager to set things right and putting an end to Munster’s winning streak would be a statement of intent that can’t be ignored.

SIMON ZEBO
10
Zebo made his Munster debut over 10 years ago and enjoyed a spell at Racing 92 before returning to his home province at the start of the season. Capable of covering wing and fullback, the accomplished Irish international and British and Irish Lion remains Munster’s top try scorer with 62 tries in the red jersey. Already a likeable character and a fan favourite, he cemented his place as a cult hero and into Lions folklore following his widely shared phone call prank while on tour. Zebo marked his return to Irish rugby with a try, and there’s no doubt he’ll be on the hunt for another against the Ospreys tonight.
CHRIS CLOETE 5ft 9in and 106kg, it’s no wonder the South African born flanker is nigh impossible to shift in the ruck. Cloete made his 50th Munster appearance against Connacht in March this year and earned the 2021 Guinness PRO14 Turnover King award with 14 turnovers in 508 minutes of action last season. He’s been at it again this season, with a Player of the Match performance at Parc y Scarlets, a consistent thorn in the Scarlets’ side as they cruised to a 30-point victory.
BEN HEALY Born in Tipperary, the 22-year-old joined the Academy in the summer of 2018 and represented Munster at U18, U19 and U20 level and also played for the Ireland U18s and U19s. Deputising Joey Carberry, the outside half was named 2021 Academy Player of the Year and was offered a senior contract at the start of this season. So far, Healy has featured in all but one game in the URC, including a start against the Scarlets in round three.

30 SUPPORTERS CLUB We find ourselves back on our home patch tonight, following the Italian Job and a very laudable bonus point win. The success against Benetton sees the Ospreys continue to maintain top spot in the Welsh Conference and move up to 5th in the table overall. That said, I am sure that all supporters are only too aware of the threat posed by this Munster team, currently in third place in both the Irish Conference and the overall table. I am sure that a great contest awaits us!
