What is medical records management?

A medical records management is the process of organising and managing patients' health information in order for medical professionals to easily access it and carry out healthcare workflows. A patient record is created when a person enters a clinic or healthcare facility for the first time. Throughout their existence, health records are managed using rules, regulations, procedures, and protocols. This includes maintaining privacy and integrity, as well as updating, changing, and communicating with other providers. Health records must be managed carefully because the information contained within them influences doctors' treatment decisions.

What is the best way to organize medical records?

Category and chronology are the most effective ways to organise patients' health data. The chronology must include the dates of all tests, scans, procedures, immunisations, admissions, and prescriptions from the beginning to the end. The categorization of records should be done so that physicians can access the relevant parts of the overall patient data. As a result, factors such as surgeries, tests, and emergency room visits, as well as prior and existing conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease, must all be appropriately classified.

Large hospitals and medium-sized ambulatory care centres, in particular, require EHR (electronic health records) software. It enables quick and

secure access to health records management while protecting the privacy of patient data.
