Prestolite Electric Joins the OptiCat Network

Hunter Introduces Hawkeye XL Alignment System

JNPSoft OptiCat announced that Prestolite Electric has joined the OptiCat Network. As the heavy-duty aftermarket community continues to embrace data standards, more and more heavy-duty truck parts data receivers are requesting high quality digital product data and images that conforms to industry data standards. The JNPSoft OptiCat network provides a cloudbased, secure, supplier-controlled distribution mechanism for distribution of proprietary data to specifically chosen channel partners within the supply chain. Prestolite Electric Inc. is a global manufacturer of alternators, starters and new-energy solutions and specialty rotary electric. Prestolite Electric North American facilities manufacture and distribute rotating electrical products. The facilities are located in Michigan and New York, OptiCat said.

Hunter’s introduced its new Hawkeye XL alignment system, which it said is designed for maximum speed, durability and ease of use for a wide range of commercial vehicles. The new aligner is on display for the first time in the Hunter booth at the show. The versatile aligner provides highly accurate measurements in four minutes or less, according to Hunter. “With our old system, I was doing 15 trucks in one 10-hour day,” says Technician Vernon Embree of Prime Inc., who tested the Hawkeye XL with their large fleet of newer trucks. “Now I’ve hit 26 trucks in one day. I would definitely recommend the XL to anybody.” At the heart of the Hawkeye XL is visionary new camera technology, Hunter said, with extralong range and extralarge targets, expanded from the industry-leading Hawkeye Elite alignment system. The aligner features lightweight, three-dimensional XL targets that are highly durable, low-maintenance and non-electronic. Precise high-definition cameras provide extra-long-range sight, capturing measurements in a single rolling compensation and displaying live alignment readings for up to three axles at once. The extended range delivers extended results, enabling the XL to easily align 53-foot trailers. With a moveable camera beam and portable cabinet, technicians can perform alignments on either the floor or a lift, in any bay. The XL offers optional Fully

“We’re excited about our new partnership with JNPSoft OptiCat,” said Jonathan Smith, Business Development Manager and Marketing Manager, Prestolite Electric/LeeceNeville Heavy-Duty Systems. “We’re looking forward to providing Heavy

Duty parts professionals all of the parts data and images for our rotating electrical products.” Don McEntee, JNPSoft OptiCat Sales Director – Strategic Accounts, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Prestolite Electric into the OptiCat Network. They have great digital content, and we are looking forward to helping them sell more parts by easily sharing their data with their customers.”

Integrated Alignment with Hunter’s L494HD alignment rack, or FIA-compatible turnplate kits to streamline processes. Standard self-centering adaptors fit wheels from 15 to 28 inches. For even more speed and wheel protection, optional Quick Grips are available in both heavy-duty and passenger versions. Additionally, Hawkeye XL connects to the HunterNet 2 customer portal, allowing shop owners to monitor alignment performance remotely and in real time.

The XL’s efficiency, versatility and low maintenance combine to yield more uptime and a lower cost of ownership, according to Hunter. Misaligned wheels can have a sizeable impact on commercial vehicle fuel cost and tire wear. “Technicians love the simplicity and ease of use of the Hawkeye XL,” says Hunter Product Manager Alan Hagerty. “It’s perfect for heavy-duty shops looking to speed up and supersize their alignment capabilities.” For more information, go to www.hunter.com/alignment-machines/ hawkeye-xl.

High Performance Solutions for OE Shocks Replacement Founded in 2000, Elka Suspension is a Canadian manufacturing company and part of the Liberty Spring group with a mission to provide the ultimate riding experience to powersports and automotive enthusiasts through shock absorbers technologies adapted and calibrated for specific vehicle geometry. Elka Suspension is best known for its high performance, fully adjustable shocks used in off-road conditions such as trail, desert, dune riding, racing and overlanding. Shocks come typically available in body diameters ranging 36mm to 66mm (1.5 inches to 3.0 inches) with external reservoirs, compression adjusters (high and low speed) and in some market segments, with external rebound adjustments. As the price point of high-performance products is higher than typical replacement shocks, Elka’s 2.0 inch and 2.5 inch Internal Floating Piston (IFP) shocks offer the best value for less than 75% of the retail price of fully adjustable products. Designed with the

same core technology and built using the same quality materials, its highperformance IFP shocks provide an upgrade in performance without breaking the customer’s bank. Elka’s OE replacement shocks are built with the same design philosophy and raw material, manufactured with

the same high-quality standards, and delivered with specifically tuned hydraulics and springs for most applications. In fact, when a new vehicle is developed, the engineering team works across the whole product line to ensure that the Elka shocks perform at their best regardless of the actual

CalPro ADAS Solutions and Collabtic Announce Integration Agreement CalPro ADAS Solutions, LLC and Fieldpulse, LLC have announced an agreement whereby CalPro’s ADAS IdentiScan® product will run on the Collabtic Software Platform. CalPro’s Patented ADAS IdentiScan is the first technology used in the ADAS identification and calibration market for the auto collision repair industry. Collabtic is a highly configurable collaboration platform which empowers organizations to increase technician productivity and first-time-fix-rates with collaboration tools and workflow automation. The CalPro ADAS IdentiScan product previously ran as an independent product platform which was sold directly to Collision Shops, Mobile Technicians, and Calibration Centers. By embedding the ADAS IdentiScan into Collabtic, customers will know which vehicles need ADAS calibrations up front and can manage their entire workflow; from repair order creation to

technician communication, search procedures, content and knowledge management, tech support and mobile access – all within a single, integrated platform. The collaboration features of Collabtic allow for the easy sharing and flow of critical information across the organization and connect the execution and productivity aspects of their businesses. “At this stage in our product and technology lifecycle we thought the best direction for the ADAS IdentiScan product was to partner with an open software platform that had a similar vision to what we had for the ADAS IdentiScan. This partnership gives us a single channel to manage in the Collision space while focusing our other efforts with AI and InsureTech partners looking to adopt CalPro’s patented technologies,” said Todd Balan CalPro ADAS Solutions Chief Executive Officer.

model chosen by the customer. The OE replacement IFP shocks feature the same internal and external components, including aluminum hard anodized piston, superior surface finish and concentricity aluminum bodies, triple sealing systems, Elka’s own proprietary oil and much more. They provide higher performance than OE shocks and are specifically tuned for every vehicle. With almost 25 years dominating the racing scene, all of Elka’s knowledge and experience also shines in the 2.0 and 2.5 IFP product line. The 2.0 or 2.5 IFP are available for all major makes and models of light trucks, SUVs and Jeep. They deliver general increased comfort, better handling with a specifically firm and stable ride for light off-road driving. Enthusiasts will experience a smoother ride over washboards and potholes and a stronger ramping effect for extra bottom-out protection over large dips and washes. Elka’s IFPs are more capable and durable than stock OE shocks and in a cost effective, fully rebuildable and more eye pleasing package, offering the best replacement solution. Stay tuned – Elka is still working hard on developing shocks setups for all new models. Elka plans to release its complete shock catalog lineup of coil-overs, springs and bump stops to the public soon, providing the opportunity to fit Elka shocks on any highly customized vehicle and DIY builds. Elka is currently looking for additional dealers to promote its new and current products. For more information, go to www .elkasuspension.com, call 800.557.0552 or email info@elkasuspension.com. “We are pleased to announce the integration of CalPro’s unique solution into Collabtic. As an open enterprise platform serving the automotive industry, our goal is to provide our customers with a comprehensive and streamlined experience for their workflows. This integration further enhances our platform by expanding our customers’ product options and offering them the opportunity to leverage CalPro’s patented solution. By seamlessly integrating CalPro’s exclusive solution with Collabtic’s existing functionality, we prioritize the safety and security of our valued customers,” said Mohan Sethi, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Collabtic. The official launch of the CalPro ADAS IdentiScan on the Collabtic Platform is expected to take place later this year. SMP Expands Oil Filter Housing Kit Program Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP) announced the continued expansion of its line of Oil Filter Housing Kits. Since the program’s introduction, Standard said it has added coverage for many popular applications. The most recent additions to the program are oil filter housing assemblies for 1.3 million General Motors vehicles, including the 2018-12 Chevrolet Sonic and 2015-11 Chevrolet Cruze, as well as 2016-07 Volvo cars and SUVs. Additional numbers in Standard’s Oil Filter Housing Kit program were designed for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM vehicles, including the 2022-19 Chrysler 300, 2020-19 Jeep Cherokee and 2022-19 RAM 1500. Standard Oil Filter Housing Kits come assembled from the factory and include everything needed for a complete, correct installation, according to SMP. “Standard Oil Filter Housings are vehicle specific, not universal, and are designed to use the correct oil filter cataloged for the vehicle. The oil filter and cap are an exact OE-match and already installed. All Standard Oil Filter Housing Kits include new oil temperature and oil pressure sensors, gaskets, seals and hardware so you won’t have to reuse any of the old, worn pieces,” SMP said. In addition, all Standard Oil Filter Housings use materials that match the heat dissipating characteristics of the original, meaning we use metal where the vehicle manufacturer used metal, and high-temp synthetic materials where the OE used synthetic materials, according to SMP. “Since the introduction of our Oil Filter Housing program, the Standard team has been busy expanding the line and developing new in-demand numbers for popular applications,” said John Herc, Vice President Vehicle Control Marketing. “Our Oil Filter Housing Kits are designed to match OE performance and cooling characteristics, are engineered for durability, and come with everything needed for a complete repair.” Along with Oil Filter Housing Kits, Standard said it offers a complete line of Engine Oil Coolers. More than 50 SKUs are available, with recent additions offering coverage for popular vehicles like the 2018-10 Nissan Altima, 2023-19 Toyota Corolla and 2023-20 Ford Escape. Ringbrothers is widely known for its high-end and extremely innovative vehicle builds. Its 1948 Chevy Loadmaster pickup, “ENYO,” stunned the world at its introduction at the 2022 SEMA Show, winning the coveted Battle of the Builders competition. A low-slung Indy Car-style chassis, radical bodywork and intricate details perfectly merged an old work truck with modern thinking, craftsmanship and design. In a one-two punch, Ringbrothers’ 1972 Chevy Blazer “BULLY” took second place in the same competition with its bespoke interior, custom chassis, four-link suspension and immaculate attention to detail. While one was track focused and the other ready to tackle the dirt, both trucks had something in common: custom inhouse CAD-designed parts that set the benchmark in the aftermarket world. Other Ringbrothers builds like the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 “PATRIARC” and 1969 Chevy Camaro “STRODE” showcase the shop’s abilities, technical innovation and the high-quality work that are the cornerstones of everything Ringbrothers does. Its hand-crafted vehicles result from thousands of hours of labor and design work by the Wisconsin-based team of craftsmen, designers, engineers and fabricators. The Ringbrothers team is passionate about what they do and the results perfectly illustrate that. Beyond building extremely highend custom vehicles for a select clientele, Ringbrothers has an exclusive line of parts available to anyone looking to add quality and custom touches to their early American muscle car or truck. The team puts the same level of engineering, thought and design expertise that goes into its vehicle builds into every part they make. For

example, the Ringbrothers steering wheels, The Murph and Patriarc, are intricately machined out of 6061 aluminum combined with crushed carbon fiber and 3D-printed parts. Also constructed from billet aluminum is the extensive line of hood, trunk and door

hinges, and door parts that are crafted and designed to last for generations. Working with carbon fiber is one of Ringbrothers’ many areas of expertise, and it offers a variety of carbon-fiber hoods, widebody kits and unique individual parts. Ringbrothers doesn’t mass-produce cheap parts for as many applications as possible. Instead, most of what it sells was initially imagined and CADdesigned for one of its custom vehicle builds before being released to the public. Ringbrothers’ parts truly feature the highest build quality, engineering, attention to detail and are made in America. In addition to checking out the work on world-renowned builds, you can see the full line of quality Ringbrothers parts at www.ringbrothers.com. BB: I believe in “doing the right things right.” Quality has always been our top priority, and our High Energy Solvent Technology (HEST) is what sets us apart. We source our raw materials from right here in the United States, and we blend, bottle and manufacture out of our plant in Arlington, Texas. We are dedicated to producing the strongest, highest quality performance chemicals available on the market, and as the industry has changed, we have challenged ourselves to produce products designed to tackle the issues of new vehicles. We want the weekend DIYer to be able to use our products and feel like a professional. We have a number of tools and utilize the use of QR codes and YouTube to allow our customers to watch how to use our more complicated products. In an increasingly connected world, we engage our fans and customers to tell their automotive stories and how our products have helped them along the way.

BB: Berryman is a small familyowned Texas company with a growing footprint both in the states and internationally. When you do business with us, we want to make sure you feel that family atmosphere from the first time beginning. When you see our products on the shelf at your local auto parts store, we want you to pick Berryman because you know our story and the values that we hold. Our market is so competitive, which makes it so special to hear people’s stories about why they choose our brand. Just the other day, I was talking to a gentleman who was about 60 years old, and he saw me wearing a Berryman shirt and said, “That’s the only stuff I will use!”‘ I asked him why and he responded, “‘because my grandfather taught me how to work on cars and that was what he used.”‘ Stories like that are what make me so proud to work at Berryman and what I think keeps us going. We want to be there for the next generation of gear heads so they can teach their grandchildren about us, too.

I was born in Belgium and traveled the world working for a dredging company in my early years. My travels brought me to America, and in 2005, I joined Garmat to work with my uncle, Karl DeRegge, the Founder of Garmat USA. An industrial engineer by education, I began at Garmat in engineering and worked my way through various roles, eventually purchasing the company from my uncle in 2009. ADN: What sets Garmat apart from the competition? JH: Unique to Garmat’s paint booth designs are the dual inlet reverse incline centrifugal fans. The backward direction of the blades creates a vacuum of air surrounding the fan which prevents overspray buildup. These types of fans can operate in a broader range of static pressure areas, so the airflow remains consistent. These fans run at a lower RPM, so both noise and energy costs are reduced, and filter life is extended. This is why Garmat is known for superior air flow. Air flow equals performance, and that is something we take seriously.

ADN: Tell us about the Garmat culture and how that translates to satisfied customers? JH: We always design our equipment with the customer in mind. Our distributors and engineers have spent a great deal of time in the booth with painters, understanding their challenges and gathering the voice of customers. This feedback pushed our development of the smooth profile doors. Garmat puts the hardware inside the door, eliminating dirt collection on the door. A push to simplify maintenance came directly from our service teams and customers: Adding access panels to service mechanicals, and easy to remove filter racks in the ceiling for quicker filter change outs.
