STUDENT WELLBEING AND SUCCESS AT OUC
PUTTING STUDENTS FIRST
At OUC, we are committed to helping students find academic, personal, and career success. Our students are at the centre of everything we do. We do all we can to help them achieve their goals, and prepare them for the world post-OUC. We create an environment focused on student success. We accomplish this in several ways, among which are:

Personal Coaching
Every student is allocated a Personal Coach (PC) who stays with the student throughout their journey at OUC and plays a crucial role in helping them get the most out of their time with us. PCs provide support and encouragement; they act as signposts to the institutional resources available.
Coaches are the first point of call for academic and personal problems impacting academic performance and life.

The Student Success Centre (SSC)
The SSC supports students beyond lectures if needed. Experienced members of the academic staff provide support at all levels. The SSC provides a range of well-defined products and services that create awareness and interest among students.
The SSC also helps students find internships.
Small Group Tutorials (SGTs)

Students are divided into small groups, typically between 5 to 7. Each group is assigned an SGT tutor. SGTs are timetabled. Students are given a task per module every week, and they hand in their work to their tutors a day before their scheduled tutorial.
The tutors review the students' work and give individual feedback to each student during SGTs.
