ATHAN TURNER moved with his wife from Greenwich into their new house in Farnborough the day before lockdown was announced by the government. Drawn to the London-Kent Gateway due to its close links to the city for work whilst also being closer to the garden of England, it has been an interesting time to settle into a new home, but Nathan has already become part of the community.
A part-time professional photographer (The Fresh Focus) and furloughed from his day job, Nathan found himself with limited work as a result of the Covid-19 crisis. Inspired by seeing a family portrait on Instagram taken during lockdown in the US, he came up with the idea of offering DOORtraits to local residents. During his permitted daily exercise photographs are taken from the street, the end of the drive or down the garden path – whilst always following social distancing guidelines. A message on his local residents’ Facebook group offering up the idea saw his inbox fill up very quickly. Rather than receiving payment for his services himself, Nathan asks clients to make a
