2025 SUMMER CAMPS

INSPIRE SCIENCE LEARNING FOR LIFE

OSC Summer Camps provide a safe, fun, nurturing environment that promotes hands-on learning while fostering excitement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our program encourages 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and communication necessary for our children to thrive. In an era dependent on innovation and creativity, our programs provide children with a platform for cultivating their interests while working collaboratively with their peers to develop lifelong skills that will enrich their lives and future community.

TUITION

• Tuition includes all camp materials and one camp t-shirt per week.

• Payment is due at the time of registration. Early and Late Care are available for an additional fee. OSC accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and e-checks. Cash is accepted in person only. Please call Reservations at 407.514.2112 for an appointment.

• Extra camp t-shirts may be purchased for an additional fee.

• Lunch and snack may be purchased for an additional fee.

EARLY & LATE CARE OPTIONS

• Early and Late Care are available for an additional purchase of $100.00 for the week. (Excluding OSC Camp at 4Roots Farm)

• Early Care runs from 7:30 – 8:30 am and Late Care runs from 4:30 – 6:00 pm every day of Camp.

• Onsite Camps - A fee of $2.00 is charged per camper/per minute after 6:00 pm.

• Offsite Camps - A fee of $2.00 is charged per camper/per minute after 4:30 pm.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Refunds will only be issued on cancellation requests made 2 weeks prior to the start of your camp session. A 20% processing fee is deducted from all refunds. There are no partial refunds for missed days of class. Camps may be rescheduled for a $10 fee up to two times but no refunds will be processed for rescheduled camps. Camps must be rescheduled two business days before the start of the Camp.

OPEN HOUSE

Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Caregivers will have an opportunity to ask questions, register for camp, meet camp staff and explore the classrooms.

WHY ARE CAMPS BROKEN DOWN BY GRADE LEVELS?

Orlando Science Center Summer Camps are designed to provide our campers with a fun, safe and developmentally appropriate program. To promote teamwork and provide the best experience for all campers, please register children for Camps offered to the grade level they will enter in Fall 2025. OSC reserves the right to move campers into camps appropriate for their level.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Camp hours are 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

• Labeling items such as lunch boxes with the camper’s name is highly encouraged. OSC is not responsible for any personal items.

• Program capacities are subject to change.

• OSC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs for any reason.

• Individuals requiring special accommodations should submit a written request to the Education Department 30 days prior to the start of the Camp session.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF A CAMPER

We want every camper’s experience at camp to be positive and memorable. To provide that experience, campers should be able to:

• Move independently from place to place

• Take care of their own personal needs

• Have effective interactions in their group-based environment (ex. buddy systems, group projects, etc.)

• Abide by the Camper Behavior Expectation Agreement (Grades K-6 campers only)

DRESS & PERSONAL ITEMS

Campers should dress appropriately for outdoor activities and messy play. Closed-toed shoes must be worn. A change of clothes (marked with camper’s name) is suggested.

• Additional personal items should not be brought to camp (Preschoolers are permitted to bring one stuffed animal at rest/quiet time).

• OSC is not responsible for campers’ personal items.

PRESCHOOL AGE REQUIREMENTS

Preschoolers must be 3 years old by December 1, 2024 and be able to use the bathroom independently in order to attend Summer Camp.

PRESCHOOL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

The Preschool Summer Camp Program requires additional documentation for each camper due to the licensing requirements of our Preschool. The Department of Children and Family licensing standards require the following documents before or on the first day of camp for any child.

1. Current FL Certificate of Immunization (If attending 4 weeks consistently)

2. Current Health Examination

3. Enrollment Form and Medical Release

4. OSC Preschool Discipline Policy – acknowledgment

5. Distracted Adult* – acknowledgment

6. Know Your Child Care* – acknowledgment

7. Flu/Immunization – acknowledgment

*Preschool is a Licensed DCF Center C09OR0729

PRESCHOOL PICK-UP & DROP-OFF

All Preschool Summer Camp attendees will need to enter and depart Orlando Science Center through the main parking garage and bridge located on Level 2.

• Caregivers/Authorized adults must accompany their child into the Preschool Summer Camp classroom. Please do not allow your child to walk to the door or leave by themselves.

• All caregivers/authorized adults are required to sign their child in and out as mandated by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Standard 65C-22.

• If someone other than the caregiver or authorized adult is dropping off or picking up, please inform the Preschool office 407.514.2112 . Photo ID is required.

If you have a camper enrolled in another camp program at Orlando Science Center, you will still need to abide by the Preschool Camp Pick-up and Drop-Off Procedures a requirement of DCF, Statute 65C22.001(10).

OCEAN EXPLORERS, AHOY!

June 2-6

Get ready for some sun, sand, and surf as we explore the ocean waters around us. What animals, plants, and habitats are in the water? Why is ocean water so salty? What is the difference between a fish and a whale? Let’s explore what happens underwater! Don’t forget to put on your sunscreen and bring a towel.

Want an adventure? Open your door! Explore around the globe touring new sights, sounds, natural wonders and cultures in different locations. Pack your bag and your passport. Here we go!

GOING BUGGY!

June 16-20

What is a bug? Are they creepy and crawly? We will learn all about insects as we explore the job of an entomologist, the life cycle of a bee, the wings of a dragonfly, and how ants can carry objects double their size. Get your magnifying glass ready as we explore the amazing world of bugs!

JURASSIC JR.

Calling all pint-size paleontologists! Brace yourselves for an adventure as we discover fossils, identify the differences between carnivores and herbivores and track the smallest to largest dinosaur that roamed the Earth. Follow us as we explore this amazing prehistoric era!

COLORFUL CREATIONS

June 30 – July 4

Let's highlight the Arts in STEM with campers' artistic talents. We will discover the wonders of pottery, clay, and painting through hands-on creations. During our time together, we will explore how science plays a role in the Arts.

Attention all budding engineers and architects! How does a structure stay balanced? How are bridges built? Use your creative side to inspire amazing structures and problem solve while building with magnetic tiles, popsicle sticks, wooden blocks and much more! We will explore careers on the job site and how they work together. We will also learn how machines and technology work together to make our jobs easier.

INTERCOSMIC ADVENTURES

Strap in for a journey to the Sun, Moon and the amazing planets that call our solar system home! Train like an astronaut and become an engineer as we build rockets and rovers and blast off into our space learning adventure.

I'M A WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST!

Let’s look to the sky, roam on the land, and go under the sea as we explore the different animals and their habitats that make up the wondrous world – planet Earth. Join the OSC wildlife team as we investigate similarities and differences in the ecosystems, collect data, and use our science tools as we explore our animal world. Don’t forget your binoculars and journal!

Ready, set, build! Let your imagination run wild while creating cars, buildings, and more. Test the basic principles of engineering as you work together to plan the ultimate LEGO city. DINO-MITE DISCOVERIES

June 2-6; July 7-11; August 4-8

They stomp, they roar, there are so many dinosaurs to explore! Hop aboard the dinosaur train and become an excavation explorer as you learn about ancient creatures big and small. Embark on a journey of Jurassic proportions and take a walk on the wild side to dig up some dino-mite archaeological discoveries.

ALL PAWS ON DECK

Grab your Pup Pack and get ready to go on patrol with your favorite rescue dogs! Help put out fires, take to the air and save the day using recycled fixes. Explore how people and pups use science and engineering to make our lives better.

STEM WITH FRIENDS

Follow the adventures of Rosie Revere, Engineer and friends as we explore what it means to work as a team! We'll use our engineering powers to build and test tall towers and create fabulous flying machines. Friends who STEM together, stay together! TRANSPORTATION STATION

Are you ready to explore the stars? Learn all about space and the technologies that help us explore the great beyond! Design a rocket to deliver people and materials to the moon, engineer a lander to help them get to the surface safely, and design a safe living space for the scientists in their lunar colony!

It’s time to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy together because the Magic School Bus is ready to go! EXPLORATION SPACE

Blast off to the wonders of space! Dive into aerospace engineering, robotics, and astronomy as you design and build model rockets to explore our Solar System. Become an aerospace engineer and explore the cutting-edge technologies that will help humans live in space, like building lunar habitats and growing plants in space. Get ready for an out-of-this-world adventure!

SIMULATION ACADEMY

June 30 – July 4; July 28 – August 1

Technology is all around us! Discover how simulation technologies are transforming fields like gaming, aviation, agriculture, and more. Put your engineering and programming skills to the test as you build video games, 3D structures, and AI-driven simulations. Become a trainee, master your piloting abilities, and explore the world by maneuvering airplanes and drones to complete challenges using aviation simulators, VR headsets and a drone cage. It’s your time to innovate, create, and simulate!

OSC OFFSITE CAMPS FOR GRADES 3-5

Orlando Science Center is thrilled to announce a new Summer Camp partnership with 4Roots! This summer, OSC will offer six weeks of camp at the 4Roots Farm Campus for Grades 3-5. Campers will enjoy an exciting, hands-on experience learning about conservation, sustainable farming practices, and agriculture careers.

Activities will include guided farm tours, exploring innovative plant growing technology in the greenhouse, and learning how to create nutritious meals with the Culinary Health Institute. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with nature and gain valuable skills for a sustainable future!

EARTHWORKS NATURE LAB

June 9-13; July 7-11

Get inspired by nature and let your creativity shine! Discover the wonders of plants, gardening, healthy food, agriculture, and resource conservation while exploring fun craftsmanship skills. Use your imagination and the environment as inspiration to create 3D printed planters, build vertical gardens using the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and design and build a mini greenhouse.

ECOTECH ADVENTURES

Get ready to discover how technology helps us study and protect nature! In this camp, you’ll explore STEM careers as you build a robot that uses sensors, fly over an orange grove with a flight simulator, explore renewable energy, 3D printing, and how tech is shaping farming and food systems.

PLANET PROTECTORS

The future of Earth is in your hands, conservation and sustainability are the key! Discover the work of conservation scientists as you explore sustainable agriculture practices, composting, and discover the importance of pollinators in crop production.
