ABOUT US ORIGIN DESIGN is an engineering firm classified under association of engineers - Gaza governorates – Palestine. Established at 2013 by architect Zahi Alrayyes who is holding a master degree of architecture from University of Brighton – UK and working as a lecturer at the University of Palestine. ORIGIN provides design and supervision engineering services that includs Architecture, Civil, mechanical and Electrical services. Origin services cover Gaza strip, and it extends internationally to reach KSA, Egypt and Mauritania Our design has a pioneer and creative approach to architecture through a wide range of work , from residential , commercial projects to recreational projects in high quality, which was achieved by creative and experienced team. ORIGIN understands that the best design comes from a completely integrated approach from conception to completion throughout preparing the marketing materials

Our Methodology Our methodology starts with working on realizing the requirements of each design to create a complete interaction between clients and their homes and/or spaces, translating these requirements to functional spaces and discussing their relation to each others, our rule is to always start with a pen and a sheet of paper because the creative design comes from our brains and computer is a mean to help us make it happen, we apply sustainability to our design giving any place we make a comfortable area to live in, here are stages that we build our work on

Data Collection

We start off by collecting data about the field of work, team, info. resources and stakeholders

Initial Design work

Then we arrange an initial design idea providing full architectural plans, elevations and 3D photos crystallizing the function and beauty of the building, using 2D and 3D programs such as AutoCAD, Sketchup which helps to see through the idea realistically

Environmental Studies

Thirdly, environmental studies aim to create a sustainable building which can be done by using computer simulators to extract heating and lighting reading for max. environmental use and min. artificial alternative use and as a result few changes will occur on our initial idea to have a sustainable building

Lightening Design

One of our assets is Lightening distribution and designing units to ensure the maximum use of natural lighting, which therefor minimize artificial lighting, Using programs like ECOTECT and DIALux evo to help us get the defined readings to help us distribute lights properly, also designing lighting units using minimum costs with highest quality

Architectural Presentation

After these steps, a complete idea crystallizes and it’s time to show it up. Architectural presentation allows the clients to observe their future homes and/or spaces before its implemented and it can be done on any of many computer programs such as Lumion, V-ray and Photoshop which provides us with the realistic final picture

Technical Plans

After approving the last step, ideas on paper and computer are ready for technical plans and these plans are: Architectural drawings, structural drawings, electrical drawings, mechanical drawings and landscape plans including both hardscape and softscape drawings, these drawings allow site engineer and workers to finish their job correctly and accordingly to the design Architectural drawings, Specified plans for every small detail in the building, including technical plans for exterior and interior finishing to clarify dimensions and used materials

Structural drawings, through the study of many structural systems and comparing them together we come up with the right system that will ensure the clients the min. cost and effort but also the max. safety, Using analyzing and designing computer programs like CSI SAFE for columns, CSI ETAPS for analyzing different structural elements and many other programs if needed such as BEAMD, ROBOT and REACT each specified in their own role Electrical drawings, Designing an electrical web concludes supply plans, earthing, lighting and sockets, also includes other utilities like tv, camera, internat and telephone distribution plans, furthermore UPS, electrical engine, MDB and fire alarms plans and any other needed plans according to client Mechanical drawings, Designing water supply and drainage plans also rainwater and air conditioning system, furthermore designing a detailed board for water and sewage pumps incase their needed Landscape drawings, it will include hardscape plans for dimensions and used materials and also Softscape plans for required plants specification, there will be water supplying detailed plans and any other detailed plans including main gate, fence and service rooms License and Required Approvals, Lastly all these drawings are submitted to the association of engineers for approval and then the municipality for the implementation license

Bill of Quantity

This stage ensures than tender documents are ready and they include reviewing all design plans and the plans needed for implementatio preparing bill of quantity preparing estimated cost for all works preparing implementation instructions file making time table required for all the works

ORIGIN DESIGN

In Nuakchoutt, Mauritania with a footprint of 4200 m2 a hypermarket design for Auchan hypermarket, from the well known brand Carrefour - France. The hypermarket has facilities like BPM bank, Chez Paul restaurant, Gym and several shops to create a unique life for visitors.

Maurivest Hotel In the center of Nouakchott the capital of Mauritania - west Africa. An hotel design for 70 rooms fit to the site area of 4000 m2.

The main elevation has a unique appearance with the wood panels. which inspired from the culture of Mauritania to add privacy for the balconies, and it allows the prevailing wind to enter, while blocking the sun rays, inorder to adapt the building with the dessert environment, this form is a way from filtering or another word “layering�.

Wooden panels It’s designed to make a wind ventilation, and act like a screen for guests privacy, aslo it can be rotated for a better view.

This proposal will host 64 guest room and 6 suites arranged at GF, 3 Floors and roof. The roof has a meeting rooms as shown in the sketch. The Ground floor has a secure car parking that could host 9 cars. while the entrace can host 18 cars.

Masterplan Najran, KSA

Touristic & heritage city Planning Master plan for a city of 8000 person, inside the Najran state in Saudi Arabia, in an area of 1089000 m2 with a lenght of 3300m and width of 3300m. the planning cocept is to devide the airport from the rest of the city by a highway. Connecting the two parts with tunnels and bridges for security issue. within the city part, several axces designed. where the first connecting between the craft area with the hospital and the residentail spots to the mosque with is the focal point of the axe.

The touristic axe connecting between the toristic area in the hources track, the food court and the heratage exhibition with the commercail area with contain of the Shopping Mall, the padestrian market and commercail, office buildings and visual end of the hotel. thus it generate the visual axces of the city.

The airport design on the form of ALLAH word in arabic, with runway has 3 Km lenght. the agruculture area was planned between the airport zone and the highway because its more controlled and give more security to the area.

The residentail area was devided into several socail level, first of all the villa module which has 2000m2, inside the villa zone there is the servece zone which contain schools, part and playgrounds.

BPM HOTEL

A Luxary design for lobby, which created through the central curved wall. The wall act like a structural system for the pitch roof and the restaurant slab, as well as its a screen to seperate between the cafe/Restaurant and the lobby. A simple waiting area beside the reception and the meeting room to control the people crowdness at the lobby.

BPM Hotel - ZouĂŠrat In the city of ZouĂŠrat in north Mauritania In which is famous of minning, the hotel has 80 rooms, and the challenge was designing the elevation with low cost materials and considering the craftsmen low skills.

The hotel has a courtyard centered the hotel contain a swimming pool and sitting areas, this give a relaxing space for hotel’s guests away from working and minning environment.

Economical interior design for the guest room, which included furniture design and execution drawing to be ready for mass production. The design was focused to be economical, how ever it give confortable for hotel guests.

Nile View Tower Elevation

A classic elevation design in Cairo, Egypt. the tower made of 11 floors and commercial shop in the ground floor. The tower will leave a unique impression for its residents and neighbours.

AlSHAFIE Mosque Competiotion Origin achieved the 2nd prize in Alshafae mosque competition, the mosque design is replace of the completely demolished mosque during the Israeli aggression, 2014.

The concept was based on the importance of the mosque running cost, which concern in the massive area of the praying hall, therefore it was founded to be more flexible, suitable to the running daily use of the mosque. The perspective section shows the main hall will use for daily praying, and the extended hall use d to the religious events.

At the seafront of Gaza, the villa designed with a unique style. it was a challange due to the land plot width, which is narrow and it had no opportunity to form the masses in comfortable way.
