As I write this article the weather is rather mild, It is a reminder that Spring is just around the corner. But, beware there is cold weather yet to come! Just remember winters is the past; we dare not concentrate our thoughts on Spring. It will just make Spring's arrival seem just that much further away. However, it is just the right time for you to make plans for Spring! Come to the garden club meeting! (Didn't you just know that was what I was going to suggest.) We always have great suggestions on what you can do that will make the time you spend in your yard count. You might just win the 50-50 drawing! There is no telling what you might learn . There is no question that you will enjoy our guest speaker. It will be Sara Wampole; she knows Hitchcock Woods like no one else. She leads walks through the woods – in better weather, of course. She will tell us about the woods and have us just aching to take a walk in Spring. Please watch the Carolina Garden. We will be putting a new sign up soon. Also, the Houndslake Garden Club has decided to give out certificates to those who have made a difference to Houndslake Golf Course or the Club grounds or Houndslake in general. Our first certificates are going to our own Judy and Jerry Clements, Dr. Rocky Napier and Susan Johnson for the activities they have engaged in to improve Houndslake. We thank them for their attention to improving our area. Don't hesitate to call Jane Rordam 648-5137 if you have questions about the Garden Club.
