Kathy Knapp will brainstorm ideas with you for themes, decorations, help you plan special touches, develop budgets, and finalize decoration and accessory pricing. Indoor Locations Campus Center Dining Hall 1855 Room MacKenzie's Simeon's Room Tifft Lounge Hamilton Hall Great Room

All Elmira College Catering locations are handicapped accessible. The Campus Center Dining Hall is Elmira College's main dining center seating up to 763 people. This location is ideal for larger gatherings, conferences, receptions, concerts, and dances. The room can be arranged to meet the requirements of most any gathering. A hard wood floor (displaying the Elmira College seal) located in the center of the room is perfect for dancing, a buffet area, or stage. The room features beautiful, hand crafted oak furnishings.

1855 Room has a genuine coffeehouse atmosphere, and a warm casual feel. Ideal for a small meeting or lecture. Perfect for a small band or a talent show. Maximum capacity is 50 people. The room offers access to an outdoor patio.

MacKenzie's offers a unique dining and meeting space combination. A built-in stage is ideal for lectures, live entertainment, and dance parties. A pub atmosphere with a maximum capacity of 175 people, this room is ideal for informal, small conferences.


Simeon's is an intimate dining experience named after Simeon Benjamin, founder of Elmira College. Paintings of many of the college's outstanding buildings and statues adorn the walls. The room has a formal atmosphere and is ideally suited for special dinners, and smaller gatherings. Maximum capacity is 36 people.

Tifft Lounge is located on the first floor of the campus center overlooking the library and tennis courts. This venue is ideal for receptions, lectures, and as a break room. Occupancy is 100 people auditorium-style; and 65 guests for a served dinner. Tifft Lounge features sliding glass doors which access the outdoor portico.

Hamilton Hall Great Room is an elegant, spacious room located in one of the college's oldest buildings. It seats 120 guests for dinner; or 200 people for a reception-style event. The formal atmosphere can add a grand finishing touch.


Where do I begin? The first step is to gather the details for your event. Then fill out the Catering Request Form with as much information as possible, at this time, including the Account Number. You will be asked for both the Contact Name and the Budget Manager name, along with the phone numbers and email addresses. Please pay special attention to the Date of Event and Preferred Location. Time of Event should include what time you would like your event to start and what time you would like your event to stop. Use the pull down menus to indicate the Preferred Location for your Event and what Type of Event you are thinking about having. When you have completed the Catering Request Form, submit the form to the Catering Office.

For most events, we require that you have this information to the Catering Office at least 10 business days prior to your planned event.

How soon before my event do I need to schedule? Time is precious to all of us. We recommend that you give yourself plenty of time to thoroughly plan your event.

Events taking place in the Campus Center Dining Hall need to be scheduled at least 6 months prior to the date desired. Events taking place in Hamilton Hall Great Room need to be scheduled at least 6 months prior to the date desired. For most events taking place in other Catering Locations, at least 10 business days are required for scheduling. For requests not requiring a set-up, such as Boxed Lunches, 48 hours is required to have your order ready.


Is there a minimum I need to order for delivery? For Catering to deliver, there is a minimum order of $25.00. If your order is less than this, a delivery charge of $10.00 will apply.

What if I need to cancel an event? At least 48 hours is required to notify Catering of a cancellation. Canceling an event planned for the Campus Center Dining Hall requires at least 3 months notification.

How am I billed? Departmental events need to supply an Account Number. This Account Number allows Catering to invoice your order more efficiently. Students and faculty members can pay for events using their meal cards.

I sent in the Catering Request Form, so am I all set? Please don't assume the date and location you requested are available. Because there could be a scheduling conflict, you should wait to hear from the Catering Office with your event confirmation. Confirmation could take 2 - 3 business days. And then you are all set.
