Heading into August and Competition Results

We hope you and your family are enjoying the late summer at Orchard Lake! As we look ahead to August, family programming takes center stage as we have some new events on the books for our members to enjoy prior to the return of the school year. All members are encouraged to join us for Club Championship Weekend, August 11-13, where we’ll gather men, women, juniors and our young adults for a stroke play event and recognize our top players in both gross and net divisions.

The Orchard Lake Member-Professional, aka the Carp Invitational, follows on August 17, and pairs foursomes of men with invited club professionals from the area for an enjoyable day of golf with proceeds benefitting the Evans Scholar Foundation and The First Tee of Greater Detroit. The Family Scramble – another new event – follows on August 20. All ages are welcome for a very casual, “outside the box” event sure to provide fun memories and a great time for all.

The Ralph Dailey is our net Senior Club Championship and takes place on August 22-23, with divisions sorted by player ages between freshmen (ages 50-59), sophomores (ages 60-69), juniors (ages 70-79), and seniors (ages 80 and up). The Husband & Wife Championship is always fun, Women’s Charity Event, and second Nine, Wine & Dine all line up through the remainder of the month.

Looking further ahead, keep an eye on your inboxes for September updates on After School Golf, The Ward Cup, the Labor Day edition of Red, White & Blue, and more. There’s plenty more on tap for the remainder of the season and we’re looking forward to sharing it all with you!
