Symptoms of depression are gone!

Josephine from Florida called the Abundant Life Prayer Group for prayer. She was feeling tired, depressed, and distant from God. I Believe in the

Healing Power of God

s you look through the New Testament, you’ll see the many healing miracles that Jesus did. In John 4, He healed a

nobleman’s son. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke tell how Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law of a fever. We see Him heal paralytics, lepers, blind men, the woman with the issue of blood…and so many others who needed His healing touch.

Yes, I believe in the healing power of God! And I believe that as we reach out to Him in faith, we can see miracles of healings in our lives—spirit, soul, body, relationships, and finances.

The common denominator in these Bible stories is faith. You see from these events, faith can make you whole (Matthew 9:29).

No matter what you’re facing—whether it’s spiritual, physical, financial, in your relationships—you can receive a miracle. The question is: Are you willing to put your faith in Jesus to heal you? Are you reaching out to Him, believing and expecting and refusing to quit until healing becomes a reality in your life?

Healing is part of what Jesus came to secure for us…

Compassion, however, makes a difference in other people’s lives, because it is an irresistible urge to remove the problem.

Matthew 14:14 says that Jesus saw a great crowd of people in need. He was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed the sick. In Matthew 20, we find two blind men sitting beside the highway, and they cried to Jesus, “Son of David, have mercy on me.” Jesus was moved with compassion and restored their sight.

2. Jesus heals to show us healing is the children’s bread. Healing belongs to us.

In Matthew 15, the story is told of a woman who brought her demon-possessed daughter to Jesus. Now, this woman was not a Jew.

Maybe you’ve struggled with the question of whether Jesus still heals today. Or perhaps you have not yet seen the healing you desire in your life, and you have become discouraged. Maybe someone has challenged your faith by questioning whether God heals everyone or just certain people.

I want to share with you seven reasons why you can put your faith in Jesus for healing…seven reasons why Jesus is a healing Jesus.

1. Jesus heals because of compassion.

Now, compassion is not sympathy.

It’s not, “I’m so sorry. I wish that there was something that I could do.” That’s sympathy, and it’s not a bad thing. But it might not change your circumstances either.

On top of that, she wouldn’t leave Jesus alone. She was crying so much that the disciples begged Jesus to send her away.

Jesus said to her, “It’s not right to take children’s bread”—which was a reference to healing—“and cast it before dogs”—which was a reference to the fact that the woman was of a pagan race that worshipped pagan gods. They didn’t worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The woman said, “You’re right, Jesus. But even the masters of the Jewish home feed the scraps to the little dogs.” She knew the custom in the Jewish home was to feed the dogs from the master’s table. She was saying, “You don’t have to give me much. Just give me a crumb.”

Jesus said, “Woman, great is your faith.” And her daughter was made whole at that very hour (Matthew 15:28). Therefore, I believe healing belongs to all those who have put their faith in Him as their Lord and Savior.

3. Jesus heals to fulfill the prophecy of healing in the atonement.

Isaiah 53:5 says, He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and by His stripes, we are healed. God promised us a Savior who would deliver us from our sins…and who would also bring us 7

healing in our bodies. Healing is part of what Jesus came to secure for us through His death on the Cross and His resurrection.

4. Jesus heals to reveal His Father’s glory.

In Matthew 15:30–31, people brought their sick to Jesus, and they gave glory to God for the miracles of healing that took place. Whenever God does a miracle, it reveals His power, His glory and His goodness to the world!

5. Jesus heals to prove His mission.

Jesus said, “If I don’t do the works of My Father, then don’t believe Me. But if I do, even if you don’t believe Me, believe the works that I do, so that you may know that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me” ( John 10:37–38). Jesus came for a specific purpose—to reveal the Father, to show us God’s love in action, and to bring us salvation, healing and deliverance in every area of life. He came to give life more abundantly ( John 10:10).

7. Jesus heals to prove that He is the Messiah.

I was in Jos, Nigeria, for an evangelistic healing meeting.

Many people in the crowd of 15,000 to 20,000 I was preaching to did not know who Jesus truly is.

I didn’t know it at the time, but there was a young man present who could not walk since birth. His parents carried him each day to the post office to beg for money, and he was referred to as “the beggar of Jos.” Everyone knew who he was, and everyone knew he could not walk.

6. Jesus heals to destroy the works of the devil.

But all I knew was that there was a great crowd of people in need of healing! I stretched out my hand, prayed, and rebuked sickness and disease of all kinds, including those who couldn’t walk. All The young man healed at 1984 Nigeria meeting, who was referred to as “the beggar of of a sudden, a cheer came from Jos.” the crowd, and the people began to jump and shout and praise God. I watched a young man come through the crowd, climb up on the platform, and begin to run and jump. And everyone was jumping and running and giving praise to God.

First John 3:8 says, For this purpose the son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Here the Bible shows sickness and disease is a work of the enemy. My dad used to say that sickness was death trying to reach out its icy hand and take you out of

I said to my interpreter who was standing next to me, “What’s going on?” That’s when I learned the young man had never walked a step in 20 years. That night, in the very back of the crowd, he heard me when I prayed the prayer of faith and sent the Word of God. He received that prayer by faith, healing went into his legs, and he was healed by the power of God.

The newspapers carried the story of the young man’s miraculous healing on the front page the next morning— Beggar of Jos Healed. The next night, 100,000 Nigerians came to hear me preach, and 25,000 of them gave their hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We serve a healing Jesus!

Acts 10:38 says, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him. Today, you may need physical healing for a sickness in your body. Or maybe it’s fear or anxiety or worry that you are suffering from, or you may need healing in your mind or emotions, or you may need peace. Perhaps you are being troubled by a financial situation, or a family situation, or something in your marriage, or your business, or your job…and you need a miracle.

The HEALING Power of God

Well, I believe we serve a healing Jesus. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrew 13:8). The Bible says that what He did in the past, in the Gospels, He can still do today for you and me. And His healing power is meant for the totality of your life—in spirit, in mind, in body, in family, and in finances.

And it can begin right now as you release your faith to God for the healing you need. You can begin right now by praying this prayer in faith with me. Say these words out loud right now, and begin to expect God to bring about the healing miracle you need.

Thank You, God, for Your healing power! I believe that You are my Healer. I believe that Jesus came to bring about healing for me in every area of my life—spirit, soul, and body. And I believe that healing belongs to me right now because it is Your gift to me and because I belong to You as a Christian believer. Right now, I release my needs into your hands—[name your situation here]. I trust You to turn things around in my life for good, and I am expecting to see Your healing power manifest in my body, my mind, my spirit, my family, my finances, and every other area of my life.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Bad Translation

I was getting a cup of coffee the other day in a little break room in a building I was in when I saw something that made me chuckle. There was a photo of an actual sign from another country that was hanging outside an elevator. The person who made the sign was trying to translate the function of the elevator from the country’s native language into English so that those speaking English would know how to use the elevator.

The sign read: To move the cabin, push the bottom for wishing floor. If the cabin should enter more persons, each one should press a number for wishing floor.

Driving is then going alphabetically by national order.

Talk about a bad translation!

The information was there. But the person who made the sign apparently did not have the ability to translate from one language to the other accurately. And the net result was confusion!

Many times, that is what happens in our own lives when we don’t translate Word through the filter of our faith.

If we use God’s Word as our translator to guide us in what we believe… Then we can apply our faith for good things, like healing, and wholeness, and life more abundantly (John 10:10).

God’s

The Bible says, Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. It also says, God has given to each of us the measure of faith. So, we already have the ability to believe. The question is, What are we choosing to believe, and how are we using that ability?

The Bible states very clearly that we have an opportunity to choose ( Joshua 1:8). We can choose what we believe and choose what to do with our faith—it’s ours to expend any way we want. If we let our faith get mixed with the bad reports we hear from medical reports, friends, or the TV news, we run the risk of expending our faith on something that could be negative, and even destructive to us.

But if we use a “good translation”… If we use God’s Word as our translator to guide us in what we believe… Then we can apply our faith for good things, like healing, and wholeness, and life more abundantly (John 10:10).

And it’s up to us what we choose to believe.

While the reports may be factual or accurate, they don’t have to be the final decision. We can apply our faith to those reports and begin to expect a miracle according to God’s Word.

I believe it’s possible to give in to doubt with our whole heart if that’s what we choose to do. We can choose to let our beliefs be dominated by fear, worry, or torment. But we don’t have to serve them.

We don’t have to believe those things. We can choose instead to follow what God’s Word says.

In a way, using His Word to guide our faith is a lot like operating an elevator with clear instructions.

As we use our faith to believe His Word, we can begin to see our circumstances change for the better.

Word over and over, and to let His Word get into our hearts, where faith can begin to grow and produce a harvest of health and abundant life in us (Proverbs 4:20–22).

His Word also tells us to think on things that are lovely and pure and of a good report (Philippians 4:8).

It tells us that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). As we learn what His Word says about us, we can begin to appropriate the things that He promises us.

Remember, the elevator was there for people to use—for everyone’s benefit. But the sign describing how to use it was translated so inaccurately that perhaps no one could use it.

It’s the same with our faith. Romans 12:3 says, “...God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. We each have the faith we need—the ability we need—so we can see our circumstances change. If we use the bad reports we hear, or our doubts, or the opinions of other people to determine what we believe, then we may find it hard to see our situations improve.

But if we’re using God’s Word as the translation of how to properly use our faith, we can begin to expect good things to happen. We can expect God’s promises to begin to show up in our lives.

What does God’s Word tell us about operating our faith? Well, one thing it tells us is to listen to His

It was an exciting time of ministry to those called to serve! ne night not long ago I was sound asleep. And at 4 o’clock in the morning, it seemed like I was jerked up on the side of my bed, and the Lord began to speak to me. I thought the vision He had given me about Christians waking up to the Lord’s second coming a few weeks ago was over.

God said, “Now that I have given you the wake-up call about the second coming of My Son Jesus Christ, I want to talk to you about two things that must take place that are not taking place now.

“One is about My people being in debt—and that is hindering the second coming of My Son. Second, I want to talk to you about what I will do for My people financially, because without money there cannot be the reaching of the nations with the Gospel of Christ.”

God said, “My people have become more like the secular world in their financial obligations—in their indebtedness—and they are not receiving the money that I have provided for them. And without money My Church worldwide, even local churches, cannot operate. They cannot go to the ends of the earth with the Gospel without money. And many of My people—most of them, really—do not have that kind of money. Therefore, there’s a stoppage that must be overcome.”

God continued, “Something is happening in the country concerning credit cards, and it’s devastating people financially. Debt has accumulated so much, until a burden of tremendous proportions has come upon their minds and is robbing them of seeing My glory.

And they no longer think about the Second Coming of Christ. Their main thought is, How can I get through this month…or this week…or even this day?

“Do you realize that most of my people are not tithing?” He asked. “Many of My pastors are talking to the people about the tithe, but they are not explaining what I will do in return.

Tithing can put them in a new position where they can not only support My work and help send the Gospel to all nations to prepare people for the Second Coming of Christ but also understand that I can do something for them, money-wise, that they’ve never had in their lives.”

He said, “There are three things that I want you to tell the people about tithing as a wake-up call:

1. “I will open the windows of heaven for you.”

“But I want to remind you that I don’t send money out of heaven. When I say I will open the windows of heaven—really, the floodgates of heaven—and pour you out a blessing where there’s not room enough to contain it, I’m not talking about pouring money out of heaven to you, because the earth is Mine (Psalm 24:1). I own all the silver and gold in the earth (Haggai 2:8). I own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10).

“My people are My people, but they don’t understand who owns the earth. And money comes out of the earth. It doesn’t come out of heaven.”

God said, “What I’m talking about in pouring out the blessing that you cannot contain is in ideas, concepts, and insights.”

“Everything works on an idea. There’s nothing that has been done or created except by an idea.” And He said, “I will open the windows of heaven when you bring Me your tithe, or your tenth, and your offerings. I want you to know that tithing is not about money. It represents My ownership. It represents

What I’m talking about in pouring out the blessing that you cannot contain is in ideas, concepts, and insights. your recognition that I own everything… that you don’t belong to yourself; you belong to Me.”

2. “I will rebuke the devourer for your sake. I will protect your assets.”

The devourer is the enemy. The devil wants to steal your money. He wants to take it out of your hands, out of God’s control, because if he takes it out of your hands, then you become a part of the world system. You become a part of a credit card system that’s plunging hundreds of millions of people into debt.

So much so until it’s becoming a curse.

is sowing of your first fruits. You are sowing a seed of your faith for God: •

To open the windows of heaven and pour into you ideas, concepts, and insights,

•

To protect your assets, and

•

To give you favor.

When we have God’s favor and we’re delivered from debt…when we’re receiving His protection for our assets, and having ideas and concepts and insights coming constantly to our minds, then we can support ourselves and have money to sustain the Church. We can have money so that Matthew 24:14 can be fulfilled: This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Psalm 16:5 NLT says, You guard all that is mine. The second thing God said for me to tell you is: “I will protect your assets [when you tithe].”

3. “I will give you favor.”

One of the most miserable experiences I ever had in my life was when I felt like I didn’t have favor…that I didn’t have God’s favor and I didn’t have the favor of people. And there are millions who really don’t have favor.

But God says that when you bring tithes and offerings to Him, He’ll give you favor. And if you have the favor of God, He can give you the favor of many people. There can be opportunities presented to you.

So, your giving of your tithe and offerings to the Lord’s work—and remembering always your local church— 18

A quick look at where Richard has traveled recently to preach the Word of God’s saving, healing, delivering power!

Church Growth International Conference, South Korea In October, Richard and his daughter, Jordan, visited Seoul, South Korea, to participate in Dr. David Yonggi Cho’s Annual Church Growth International Conference. This year’s theme: “The Great Harvest is coming! Prepare the way of the Lord Jesus Christ!” More than 100,000 people gathered in the World Cup Stadium as Richard led in prayer.

Jordan opened up the conference at Yoido Full Gospel Church, singing the powerful lyrics, “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand!”

REVIVAL IN THE

UNITED KINGDOM Before I left for the trip to the UK, I received a prophetic word from the Lord.

I was instructed by the Lord that when I reached Swansea, I was to go down to the sea, get on my knees in the sand, and lift my hands to the Lord. And as I did, a fresh new mantle of the anointing would come upon me. I did this as soon as I arrived in Wales. I felt this new mantle of anointing power, the weight of it, come upon me.

Terry and his daughter Wendy attended the healing meeting in Oldbury. Terry shared that he was healed of a back injury after Richard laid hands on him and prayed. Wendy was healed of pain in her right foot and leg, which had made it almost impossible for her to lift her right foot when she walked.

And that night in the opening healing service, there was perhaps the most powerful preaching and teaching anointing I have ever felt as I have ministered…so much so that I preached and prayed for the sick for over two and a half hours. There were lots of miracles!

While I was in Wales, I went to the place where the Welsh Revival of 1904 broke out. A man by the name of Evan Roberts was instrumental in that revival. Somewhere along the line, I’m told I’m related to him!

It’s a very distant connection, but you can trace the Roberts name and family back to Wales. And the little church you see me standing in front of in this picture is where a revival broke out. During that year, 100,000 people gave their hearts to Christ!

I believe this revival is continuing in our time through the Oral Roberts Ministries. As part of my calling, the Lord has told me He is launching me into a ministry to ministers…to share with them the principles of healing, the Holy Spirit, and seed-faith. During this trip to the UK, I received invitations to come and minister to ministers in 2016. I’m believing that as I share with these ministers in the UK and wherever God opens doors for me, I can help prepare this generation to reach out with the Gospel and God’s miracle-working power, touching all those who have a need for the Lord.

Lydia came with her parents to share their testimony. Lydia had a high fever and terrible blistering that put her in the ICU with a rare toxic skin condition. Her parents used anointing oil from the Oral Roberts Ministries as their point of contact to release their faith for her healing.

10 Years of Chronic Pain GONE through healing prayer from Richard on TV!

I was in college playing basketball, and I happened to be working at a furniture company when I could fit it in with my college schedule. One day, I lifted a sofa up on its end, a really heavy sleeper sofa. And something just popped in my back. I fell to my knees. And from that day forward, I dealt with pain.

I went to doctors, who talked to me about the damage that was done, and they said they could do surgery but the results might leave me worse than when I went in. I was a young man, and they didn’t recommend trying the surgery at that time. So for ten years, I literally dealt with that pain in my back.

One day, I said, “Lord, I know this is not Your best for my life. I know it isn’t, because I know what Your Word says.” As I prayed, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to my heart and said, “Every time that pain reveals itself, I want you to proclaim, out loud, By Jesus’ stripes, I am healed.”

That went on for about ten months. I’d proclaim my healing every time I felt the pain. This was a regular event. It would happen two, three, four, five times a week.

Richard Roberts was on the television, doing his television show. He said, “Hey, if you’ve got back pain, lay your hand on the television.” He was praying for a healing miracle.

I said, “I agree with that.” He prayed, and I went about my merry way. From that day forward, I never had back pain another day in my life! The chronic pain was totally gone.
