Island Magic for Carter Fox’s 944

Carter Fox, who’s racing a Porsche 944 in the single-marque 944 Series, greatly enjoyed his year on the track in 2022.

His superb run culminated in the year’s final event at Phillip Island, aptly titled Island Magic. Three races were held over that weekend, with Carter finishing 12th in his first season with the series.

Carter’s qualifying time of 1:53.998 seconds was topnotch in a field of 944s with little to separate them, a close contest making for very exciting racing with Carter often battling Toni Andreevski for position. At the event, 944 Class President Mark Taubitz presented Carter with a set of tyre blankets for displaying an exemplary attitude and consistent improvement across the entire season.

Porsche Centre Brighton is keenly anticipating Carter’s 2023 year in the 944 Series, with the next race on 17–19 February at Sandown Raceway.

When asked about his upcoming races, Carter said his 944 was getting a few ‘tweaks’ in the off season.

‘Without giving too much away, I’m excited to see how well I use the upgrades to perform in February,’ he says. With Carter’s enthusiasm and newly tweaked machinery, we’re in for exciting times ahead. •
