T

he annual Wound Essentials: Skills Update Summer Conference is now in its seventh year and continues to provide free, first-class, topical education for generalists who are faced with the challenges of caring for patients with wounds both in the community and secondary care settings.

Our content has been developed by key wound care practitioners to provide a succinct and practical update in some of the most common wound types you will be faced with, including pressure ulcers, leg ulcers and diabetic foot wounds. The event includes thought-provoking sessions that will enable you to return to practice with more confidence in managing a variety of wounds that, if left untreated, can evolve into serious clinical and resource issues. This event is aimed at tissue viability specialists, district nurses, link nurses, nursing home nurses, podiatrists, practice nurses, staff nurses as well as interested generalists.

As in 2012, the event runs alongside our Annual Conference of the Journal of Lymphoedema, which is in its fifth year. This event provides specialists and others involved in providing care for lymphoedema patients with a free annual update. The programme will deliver a lively mix of sessions, updating practitioners on the latest issues affecting service delivery and relevant areas of clinical care.

Both events are accompanied by a combined and comprehensive exhibition area where delegates will find an excellent range of products and services on display.

Both events were oversubscribed in 2012 and numbers are limited, so early booking is essential.
