The Huskie Booster Club is a volunteer parent organization that raises funds to celebrate and support educational, social, athletic and extracurricular activities. It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow parents and guardians while encouraging your student’s experiences at OPRFHS.

Our brewery is housed in an old repurposed bank building from the early 1900s with a stellar rooftop deck. Craft beer is brewed on-site, craft cocktails, made-from-scratch kitchen serving upscale bar food.

Dear OPRF Huskies Hockey Community-

We hope you enjoy our 2022-2023 OPRF Huskies Hockey Club Yearbook.

This project was a collaborative effort requiring the support from our players, their families and the community at large.

We would like to thank our club volunteers who continue to support our players, coaches and community partners. Our club, being a volunteer-run organization, relies on membership participation to make the OPRFHC a success. Thank you for your commitment and dedication!

A special thank you to our advertisers for their contributions to this book which provides financial support for the hockey program. Please keep these businesses in mind when you find a need for their services or products.

This was the first year for our new Hockey Director, Mike Murphy and his coaching staff. We would like to thank them for their tireless efforts and their ability to balance hard work, team play, sportsmanship, accountability, and fun. We look forward to our club’s growth and development under their leadership.

Finally, a special thank you to Jason Clary for his work in creating this yearbook and to Barbara Metric who led our yearbook sponsorship effort. It will be a keepsake for our players, their families and especially our seniors who have given so much to the program.

OPRF HOCKEY CLUB ASSESSMENT

Each of the players and staff will receive a comprehensive Integrated Movement and Injury Assessment with one of our Sport Based Doctors of Physical Therapy.

Each participant will go through a comprehensive Integrated Movement Assessment that includes:

Detailed medical history review

Analysis of posture, gait, sport-specific movements, and functional stability

Assessment of joint mobility, muscle strength and screening for neurological involvement

The session will range between 45-60 minutes; includes a written summary of the assessment along with an explanation of all findings, differential diagnosis, and any recommendations.

About B-Health

B-Health is an integrative health practice that provides orthopedic manual-based physiotherapy, comprehensive chiropractic care, and health and nutritional counseling serving Oak Park, Illinois, and surrounding communities. Providers include Doctor of Physical Therapy, Chiropractic Physician, and a Certified Health Coach and Nutritional Counselor working in collaboration or independently to better serve our patients and our community.

OPRF HOCKEY CLUB HAS HEART

We are not just a team building our hockey skills and playing games, we are learning how to take an active role in our community to make a difference. A big part of our culture is giving back to our community in a way that we are active participants. Whether it’s raising money for our local food pantry, for victims of domestic violence and their families, or for children and adults whom have physical disabilities yet are determined to play ice hockey, we are active participants in our community and learning how to give back to the world we live in.

Our JV and Varsity players wore their Orange to classes on February 7th in support of Sarah’s Inn to raise awareness about teen dating violence and helping spread the message that everyone deserves a healthy relationship.

OPRF Hockey Club hosted the Chicagoland Hornets Sled Hockey team on November 7th for two games (Varsity and JV) to help raise funds for the Hornets.

OPRF HOCKEY SCHOLAR S HI P

For the past 20 years, senior players for the OPRF Hockey Club have been able to apply for the Bolin-Cooper scholarship to be used for their post high school education. The scholarship was created to honor the memories of Huskies Kevin Bolin and John Cooper. Thirty players were awarded scholarships totaling over $200K over the past 2 decades. The 2021-22 season was the final season of the Bolin-Cooper scholarship but the remaining funds in the scholarship were gifted to the club.

The OPRFHC board elected to use these funds to seed the creation of the OPRF Huskies Hockey Club Scholarship. We look to continue to support this fund through club fundraising e orts and Alumni donations. Similar to the Bolin-Cooper, the new scholarship is open to seniors who played at least two years with the club. Scholarship applicants are evaluated based on their commitment to academics, to our community, the club and to their teammates.
