The goal of international tutoring is to support and guide incoming exchange and international degree students. Although it might be difficult to travel to a different country without knowing where to go or who to talk to, we international tutors typically stay in touch with our tutees even before they arrive in Finland. When new students arrive from other countries, they require a lot of assistance and support to adjust to everything that is already common for us.

I've been tutoring for a year and a half, and throughout that time I've met some very remarkable people with whom I've formed lasting connections. Making a difference in someone's life and being helpful makes you feel wonderful.

The benefit of international tutoring extends not only to the new students but also to us, the tutors. We gain a variety of skills, which include problemsolving, language, communication, leadership, and more. We have the choice of going abroad at SAMK, so interacting with international students may inspire you to experience new things and possibly study abroad as well.

Moreover, international tutoring may help you get the most out of your academic years by introducing you to new cultures and teaching you how to behave, live and have fun on a wider level. I strongly encourage you to apply as a tutor if you've ever been on the edge about doing so. Being helpful not only enhances your memories, but it also looks good on your CV.
