“There were so many highlights but it was more the kindness of people in the leadup. Becoming married while the rest of the world was ‘on hold’ was very special. Also, the rawness of the occasion because we decided to bring the date forward (and to shrink the guest list from potentially 150 to 5) because we realised what truly mattered. We forged precious friendships with our three vendors. Australia Post lost our wedding rings so the jeweller was kind enough to rush a second lot in time for the wedding, free of charge. The hens night over Zoom the night before the wedding was different and not what was originally planned, but beautiful all the same. Another highlight was having our son approved by the authorities to be in attendance. He played a big part in our day and we couldn’t imagine it any other way. We had family and friends watching the ceremony via Zoom from the UK, South Africa and LA. We spent a few hours getting photos as the pink sunset washed over the horizon, which was pretty spectacular.”
