Dear Parents and Dancers

We are excited to present to you the Belleville Dance Experience (BDX) Competitive Team Information Package! If you are considering registering your child for our competitive team, we want to assure you that this is an amazing opportunity for them to grow as dancers and individuals.

What is Competitive Dance?

Being part of the BDX comp team means becoming a member of a performance-driven group. Your child will have six additional opportunities to dance and perform on stage and in theaters, including four competitions, dress rehearsal, and showcase.

By being a competitive dancer with BDX, your child will build confidence and essential life skills including:

It's more than just winning trophies; it's about creating lasting friendships, building a supportive community, and developing camaraderie.

The purpose of our competitive team is to provide promising dancers with the chance to develop their dance ability while fostering camaraderie with their teammates.

Our goal is not solely focused on winning trophies but rather on the constant improvement of our dancers, both in their technical skills and their character.

We believe that competitive dance is not just about the end result but the journey of personal growth and team spirit.

Class Packages

Competition team members are required to take ballet, stretch and conditioning, their competitive choreography classes and the technique classes of the styles they are competing in. The only exception to this are dancers competing only in hip hop, these dancers are not required to take ballet.

$150+hst

Competitive Team Audition Night

We are thrilled to invite your child to audition for our competitive team! Join us at our studio for a dynamic audition night where dancers will showcase their skills in various styles based on their age group.

June 19th 5:00-8:00pm

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING TIMINGS FOR EACH AGE GROUP AND DANCE STYLE:

Minis & Juniors (Ages 5-10):

5:00-5:30 PM: Hip Hop (Mini/Jr)

5:30-6:00 PM: Jazz (Mini/Jr)

6:00-6:30 PM: Contemporary (Mini/Jr)

6:30-7:00 PM: Musical Theatre (Mini/Jr)

Intermediates & Seniors (Ages 11+):

5:00-6:00 PM: Contemporary (Int/Sr)

6:00-6:45 PM: Hip Hop (Senior)

7:00-8:00 PM: Jazz (Int/Sr)

Parent Information Session: 5:00-7:00 PM

During the 5 years that we have been at BDX we have experienced nothing but a family. Alyssa welcomed us with opened arms and we were ecstatic to find our forever studio.

Makaylla has grown as not just a dancer but as a person with this team and we have learned so many important lessons about what competitive dance truly is. Without BDX we wouldn’t be where we are today. We are honoured to say BDX is our home and always will be.
