Marijuana laws in California California approved Proposition 215 in 1996. Under this law, a person aged 18 or more is eligible for the doctor's recommendation to consume medical marijuana in the State. With an MMJ Card, you are allowed to possess up to eight ounces of dried flower. You can also cultivate up to six mature or twelve immature plants. Growing more than that is punishable under the law. Also, the State under SB 420 allows the band of dispensaries to grow 99 plants together as a non-profit.
