Meisies van reg oor die wereld neem deel aan dié fantastiese kompetisie. Jy word gekies as 'n Finalis as jy 'n Suid Afrikanse kompetisie wen en voldoen aan al die Internasionale standaarde , toer dan na Amerika om deel te neem.

Die 23 jarige Tharin Grobler van Kimberley was dié jaar 'n beoordeelaar

by RIM. "Dis nie my eerste keer as 'n judge nie , ek judge al kompetisies vanaf die jong ouderdom van 13 maar wel my eerste keer as n judge by RIM, as 'n vorige titel houer en eerste Suid Afrikaner om ooit te wen by dié kompetisie."

Die 2 ander meisies op die foto saam met Tharin, is Deante Swart (Royal International Miss Role Model Jr Teen 2021-22) en Jeaneigh Borghesi (Royal International Miss Princess 2021-22). Hulle altwee is laasjaar gekroon en het hierdie jaar hulle titels oorhandig aan die nuwe meisies.

Tharin sê sy is van 2018 af deel van die RIM Familie. "Ek is ongelooflik dankbaar dat die geleentheid oor my pad gestuur is en dat ek vir ewig deel van die "sisterhood en RIM alumni" sal wees . Ekt Sister Queens van reg oor die Wêreld , van London , Australie en reg oor Amerika. Ons almal het soveel by mekaar geleer deur die jare maar almal se opregte ,omgee en liefde vir mekaar is vir my die mooiste en spesiaalste. Jy kry dit op geen ander plek soos by RIM nie. " Tharin het op die ouderdom van 2jaar aan skoonheidskompetisies begin deelneem en haar eerste Kompetisie was Mej Roosknoppie in 2002.

"Hierdie jaar is ek al 21 jaar in die bedryf."

"My heel gunsteling deel is die vriendskappe wat ek al oor die jare gemaak het en dat dit my soveel van myself geleer het en ervarings gegee het wat ek op geen ander maniere sou kry nie."

'Ek is baie trots op my Nama Leefstyl' Lien Bugan van Buffelsrivier het besluit om haar eie Namastat te bou.

Buffelsrivier is 40km wes van Springbok in die Noord- Kaap.

"Omdat ons werkloossyfer so hoog is, en ek het 35 haar gasvryheid ondervinding het en werkloos is, het ek besluit om 'n Namastat te bou."

Lien is 'n Nama vrou en sy beeld nou haar tradisie en kultuur uit vir haar nageslag.

"Ek begin amptelik die 1ste Augustus met die maak van rooster broodjies en my tradisionele kosse. Ek het geen hulp enigsins gekry nie, ek en my man het alles met die bos en pale gemaak.

Ek geniet dit om kos te maak en te kommunikeer met mense. Ek is baie trots op my Nama Leefstyl ek hou daarvan en ek geniet dit."

Elektrisiteitsvoorman van Sol sterf na substasie ontplof Faiek Adams, elektrisiteitsvoorman by die Sol Plaatje-munisipaliteit wat in die hospitaal opgeneem is met beserings wat hy opgedoen het toe ‘n substasie ontplof het, is oorlede.

Thoko Riet, munisipale woordvoerder, het die nuus bevestig.

Adams was drie weke gelede by die substasie in Avivaweg in Carters Glen, Kimberley, besig om saam met twee leerlingelektrisiëns herstelwerk te doen, toe die stasie ontplof het.

Daar is kort na die ongeluk met Adams na ‘n hospitaal in Bloemfontein gejaag waar hy behandeling vir ernstige brandwonde ontvang het.

Hy is Dinsdagmiddag aan longontsteking oorlede.

“Ons medelye gaan uit aan sy familie. Ons het een van ons eie verloor en sal altyd die herinneringe en sy bydrae tot die Kimberley-gemeenskap koester,” sê Riet.

Programmerings-genie van Douglas Daar was 'n landswye Coding Tournament gehou op die 18de Julie die Mandela Day. Dit was aangebied deur die Departement of Computing Sciences, Leva Foundation en die aws InCommunities by die plaaslike SEDC kantore in Douglas.

Frans Badenhorst is 'n graad 8 leerling aan Hoërskool Douglas. In dié toernooi het hy 'n speletjie ontwerp en gewen. In die speletjie moet jy programmering gebruik om deur 35 verskillende vlakke te gaan in 'n tydperk van 2 ure. Hy het dié programmering voltooi in net 39 minute.

Frans se ma, Petro, sê hy speel stut vir die skool se Onder 15 rugbyspan en oefen tans 3 keer per week saam met die span. "Hy het 'n groot liefde vir rugby.

Dan doen hy Robotics by die skool en dis hoe hy deelneem aan hierdie tipe kompetisies. Hy het n breë kennis van installering en programmering van verskeie tipe programme en spelletjies. "

"Van jongs af het hy altyd gesê hy wil eendag die eienaar van Google wees." Frans se droom is om "Computer programming and Game Development" by Microsoft se kampus in Seatle Amerika te gaan studeer na skool.

Frans het ook voor die Covid-19 pandemie musieklesse gedoen. Hy het klavier graad 2 geslaag met 100%. "En het ook 'n Geel belt in Kickboxing Level 3 voltooi. Dit was egter gestaak agv Covid-19 en hy het sy talente op ander gebiede bevorder."

Frans se gunsteling vakke op skool is ongetwyfeld Wiskunde, EBW en Natuurwetenskappe.

Om voor te berei vir die toernooi is die kinders in die laaste week van die vakansie vir 2dae (3ure per dag) gereed gemaak en voorberei vir die kompetisie.

Petro sê jy kan vir Frans enige uitdaging gee en hy vat dit. Sy juffrou, Alana Visagie, is sy Robotics onderwyseres wat hulle elke week met geduld nuwe dinge leer en saam met hulle leer.

"Twee van ons leerders het vandag aan 'n programmeringskompetisie deelgeneem.

Ons skool word verteenwoordig deur Frans Badenhorst en Kiandré Neelse.

Frans Badenhorst (HSD) en Eldorano Appolis van Riverside Sekondêre Skool was die eerste span van Douglas SEDC om die hele speletjie te programeer en het klaar gemaak in 39 minute." -Veldbrand koerant Frans is ook gelukgewens deur sy skool op hulle Facebook blad. "Dis voorwaar 'n groot prestasie. Baie geluk.

KEIMOES POLICE ARRESTS A MAN IN POSSESSION OF DRUGS A 39-year-old man was arrested by the police in Keimoes on Wednesday, 20 July 2022 for possession of drugs.

The police received a tip off about drugs at the premises and they followed up. They conducted a search at the said residence and drugs including Tik, mandrax and dagga to the value of R3700 were found in the house.

The suspect is detained and is expected to appear in court soon.

The Station Commander of Keimoes, Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Mkontwana applauded the members for a job welldone.

ZFM HIGHWAY PATROL SECURES MULTIPLE ARRESTS Members of A-Shift, ZFM Highway patrol secured multiple arrests during their shift for cases including burglary and possession of dangerous weapons.

On Sunday, 17 July 2022 the members received a complaint of burglary in progress at one of the stores in the CBD of Upington. They immediately responded and on arrival the suspects fled on foot towards the residential area.

The members apprehended two male suspect aged 19 and 25 years old respectively, still in possession of stolen goods. The owner of the store positively identified the goods. Another suspect, 26-years-old man was arrested for possession of dangerous weapon after the police found him walking with an open knife in the neighborhood.

On Monday 18 July 2022, the members reacted to information regarding a burglary at a supermarket in town which occurred in the early hours of that morning.

They followed up and two suspects aged 22 and 23 years old were apprehended for burglary business and the other suspect with an added possession of dangerous weapon as he was caught with a knife in his possession.

Upon further investigation, new information about another burglary which occurred at other premises came to light, which led to an arrest of one male person aged 29. All the exhibits were booked in as evidence.

The Acting District Commander of ZF Mgcawu, Colonel Peet Coetzee lauded the members for their relentless efforts in changing the picture of crime in the district.

NORTHERN CAPE VEHICLE CRIME INVESTIGATION UNIT RECOVERS TWO STOLEN VEHICLE A multi-disciplinary operation led by the members of the Northern Cape Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit, recoversld two reported stolen vehicle during a crime prevention operation in Kuruman.

On Wednesday,20 July 2022 the team comprised of various law enforcement agencies, flooded the John Taolo Gaetsewe District, with the focus to address crimes such as theft of motor vehicles, conducting vehicle inspections at second hand good dealers, scrap yards including chop shops.

Random vehicle checkpoints, stop and searches including static roadblocks were conducted. The team pounced on a Nissan NP 200 and a Polo Classic which upon inspection and investigation it was discovered that these vehicles were reported stolen in Gauteng.

The white Nissan NP 200 was reported stolen in Central Johannesburg in March 2019 and the white Polo Classic was reported stolen in Silverton in September 2021.

The team conducted investigations and inspection on the Polo Classic, and it was discovered that the original identification of the vehicle has been tampered with.

Both vehicles were impounded. The suspects are behind bars, charged with possession of stolen vehicle respectively and are expected to appear in the Kuruman Magistrate’s Court soon.

INTELLIGENCE DRIVEN MULTI DISPLINARY OPERATION BUST DRUG DEALERS IN BRITSTOWN Four suspects are expected to appear in the Britstown Magistrate’s Court soon on counts of dealing in drugs respectively following their arrest in Britstown.

The suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Thursday,14 July 2022 when a multi-disciplinary team comprised of the Northern Cape Provincial Crime Intelligence (CI), Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation(DPCI),De Aar Public Order Police(POP), De Aar Local Criminal Record Centre(LCRC), Colesberg Visible Police (Vispol) and De Aar K9 unit, simultaneously searched the suspects’ premises in Nood Kamp informal settlement and New Extension, Umzwabantu in Britstown.

A 30-year-old male suspect was found in possession of thirty eight (38) full mandrax tablets, eighteen (18) halves of mandrax tablets and Chrystal Meth.

Two cellphones which were found in possession of the suspect were also confiscated.

The team seized ten(10) full mandrax tablets, three(3) halves of mandrax, ten(10) quarters of mandrax tablets, one(1) plastic medium size bank plastic of Chrystal Meth, thirty(30) small size zip lock plastic bags of Chrystal Meth, three(3) bulb straws, two(2) scales including cash to the value of R3 110,50.00 believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.

Three female suspects aged 19,22 and 23 were arrested.
