Computer Science And Information Technology Students Win First Prize In National Hackathon Competition

Groet Huismoeder Soos die seisoene kom en gaan, so is dit ongelukkig ook maar met die mense by Jogébed.

Vandag moet ons woorde vind om dankie te sê aan Maryna Isaacs, wat sedert vroeg 2019 die huismoeder van die Pleeghuis was, en besluit het dit tyd geword het om af te tree.

Maryna, baie dankie vir die meer as drie jaar wat jy jou lewe uitgestort het vir Jogébed se pleegkinders, en in jou laaste pos voor aftrede. Maryna het, nadat die eerste huismoeder wat haar sou vervang, weer vinnig weg is, dadelik weer teruggekeer ter wille van die kinders, en toe weer twee maande saam met Merinda Esau deurgebring om haar goed in te burger vir die taak. Maryna is nog nie heeltemal vir Jogébed verlore nie, want sy het ingewillig om in te staan as afloshuismoeder wanneer die huismoeder afnaweke het of met vakansie gaan.

250 gram opgekerfde knopiesampioene.

Metode:

Skil die ui af en kerf in lekker dik stukke op. Sit jou pot op die kole en bedek die bodem met 'n bietjie olyfolie.

Voeg eers die uie in en verbruin liggies.

Voeg dan die hoenderstukke by, en die hoenderspeserye.

Keer die hoenderstukke en uiemengsel gereeld om met 'n houtlepel sodat die hoender aan albei kante verkleur. As die hoender so halfpad gaar is, gooi die pakkie groente boop. Gooi nog 'n bietjie speserye op die groente. Gooi nou die inhoud van

die twee blikkies tamatie en uiesmoor bo-oor die laag groente.

Meng die pakkie sop en die tamatiepasta deurmekaar en verdun tot 'n lekker loperige sous met water. Voeg dit by in die pot. Sit die deksel op en laat prut tot die groente sag is. Youth In N. Cape Venture Into Businesses Amidst High Unemployment Youth unemployment remains stubbornly high in South Africa.

As the country gears up to commemorate Youth Day on Thursday, some young people in the Northern Cape have ventured into entrepreneurship in an attempt to create jobs and sustain themselves.

24-year-old Itumeleng Riet originally from Delportshoop, but now based in Kimberley, believes venturing into business is key to combatting the high unemployment rate among the youth. He is currently studying retail business management at Sol Plaatje University, says he entered into business in 2018 so that he doesn’t burden his parents with his needs. Riet established a company called CR Variety where he is creating bracelets and customising cellphone covers among his business ventures..

“I am trying to mitigate that challenge by not relying to get a job but creating a job for myself because I am from a family that was relying on pension. I am also studying.

monthly allowance so I made pocket money so that I can buy toiletries and all that since well we are facing high rate of unemployment so we have to create jobs for ourselves.”

35-year-old Olebogeng Segami from Galeshewe concurs with Riet, saying entrepreneurship is critical during these times where the cost of living is very high. Segami has created employment for five people at his pizza and fish and chips outlet in the township. The Winner of the Incredibly Hard Desert Race 1000 in Upington Will Grab a Ticket to the Dakar Rally in 2023 After years of competitors battling in the harsh conditions of Botswana, the organisers of the desert race 1000 marathon rally moved to the Northern Cape town of Upington in 2021.

Toyota Gazoo Racing SA is currently the only team that offers the chance to secure a free entry to the Dakar Rally, which is arguably the most demanding motorsport event on the planet, for a number of years – and this opportunity will again be offered when the next edition of the race takes place at the end of June, 2022, MotorPress reports.

As before, the Road to Dakar, as this initiative is known, is open to all privateers who haven’t previously taken part in the Dakar Rally. The winning competitor can choose to enter the next Dakar or the following one, effectively giving the team a maximum of 18 months to prepare for the race.

Former Ceo Of Agriseta And Two Directors in Dock For Fraud And Corruption Former CEO of AgriSETA Mr Jeremia Sello Madiba (58), Simphiwe Anthony Dywili (44), Lerata Raphael Mokoteli (39) and four entities made a brief appearance at Kimberley Magistrate court on Monday, 13 June 2022 on allegations of contravention of Public Finance Management Act, fraud, corruption and money laundering.

It is alleged that between March and June 2016, the

Director of Business against Crime (BAC), Mr Dywili submitted fraudulent proposal to AgriSETA for funding of gardening project, giving a misrepresentation that he had partnered with Dipalemo Company which is accredited

by AgriSETA for the purpose of funding.

The former CEO of AgriSETA, Mr Madiba failed to comply with the provisions of the Public Finance Management Further, the Director of Media Act in relation to the approval Engineering and office of the discretionary grant Solution, Mr Mokoteli allegedly relating to the agreement acted as if he had the mandate between AgriSETA and BAC.

Kidnapped Woman Rescued Two Foreign Nationals Behind Bars De Aar SAPS & Landile Security Success Two foreign national males, are expected to appear in the De Aar Magistrate’s Court soon, on counts of kidnapping and theft of motor vehicle.

It is alleged that the victim had employed the two men as bricklayers, as she was building and renovating her house in De Aar. On Monday, 13 June 2022 the two allegedly kidnapped the victim(30) female and stuffed her in the boot of her Audi Q2 and drove off with her. The victim was in possession of her cellphone, and she managed to communicate with her mother via WhatsApp about the kidnapping ordeal and theft of her motor vehicle.

Her mother immediately alerted the police about the alleged incident and police in De Aar reacted promptly and launched a search and tracing operation.

The particulars of the victim and the vehicle were circulated.

De Aar SAPS members , Sergeant Riaan van Wyk and

detective Sergeant JAM Tyers with the owner of Landile Security Services, Mr Kennedy Khubashe collaborated during the search and trace of operation.

The search and tracing operation led the team to Grasmere filling station on the N1 South of Johannesburg and found the suspects in possession of the reported stolen vehicle with the victim bundled in the boot. The victim sustained bruises, as a result of the scuffle ensued during the kidnapping.

With the assistance of the Johannesburg Highway Patrol including the private securities in Grasmere the suspects were apprehended and arrested.

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for strong, damaging winds in the Karoo and Sutherland.

He said that the NC Hockey Federation executive is pleased to announce that the past weekend saw the first Master’s Games being played, a welcome first for the province.

“We hope that this will encourage all former hockey players to return to the sport so that they can be part of this exciting new initiative,” Le Hanie said. He added that they currently have seven men’s teams and four women’s teams participating in their premier division.

The Inter-Provincial School Hockey Tournaments will also be taking place in Stellenbosch from June 25 to July 13.

WHAT IS THE RISK OF NOT HAVING A CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT IN PLACE? Whilst the common law does not require contracts of employment to be reduced to writing, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Act 29 of 1997 (“the BCEA”) requires every employer to provide the employee with a written contract of employment no later than the first day of commencement of employment and which must contain certain particulars.

Failure to comply with the provisions of the BCEA in this regard may result in the imposition of a fine. However, the failure to reduce the contract of employment to writing does not render it void.

All persons regarded as employees (with, or without contracts) are under the protection of existing labour legislation and principles according to section 83A of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, section 200A of the Labour Relations Act and Common Law. It is seen as a necessity to reduce the agreement in writing and have

a contract in place to regulate important conditions of employment and to avoid unnecessary disputes, to have clarity regarding the rights and responsibilities of both parties in the employment relationship.

Prieska 22 000 Jobs To be Created-Power Reserve Project The thousands of job opportunities expected to be created in the Northern Cape by the planned Prieska Power Reserve Project will challenge youth unemployment in the province.

This project, which is expected to start producing green hydrogen and ammonia in 2025, is expected to create 22 000 jobs. The estimated value of this project is R9.7 billion Days before Youth Day will be celebrated in South Africa, the Northern Cape Provincial Government tweeted and reconfirmed its dedication to working with social partners in order to deal with the challenge of youth unemployment and attract more investments to contribute towards job creation. This includes upskilling the youth to ensure that they will directly benefit from the employment opportunities that this project will provide.

The Northern Cape Provincial Government tweeted that 27.5% and 35% of these 22 000 job opportunities will be allocated to the youth and women respectively.

This comes after the mayor of the Siyathemba Municipality, Mr Andrew Phillips, together with the Northern Cape Premier, Dr Zamani Saul, members of the Executive Council, Mr Vosloo and Mr Zolile Monakali, met with the Thyssenkrupp Group, an international leader in Green Hydrogen and Ammonia technology, in Essen, Germany, on Monday.

According to a statement issued, the Thyssenkrupp Group - which is an international leader in Green hydrogen and Ammonia Technology - and the partner for CENEC, Mahlako and the IDC, will build the Prieska Power Reserve (PPR) Industrial complex in Prieska, in the Siyathemba municipal area.-OFM

ANC Kabal van Magsbehepte Lede Banning Of Cigarette Sales During Lockdown Declared Illegal by Supreme Court Of Appeal-To be Sued THE LOCAL tobacco industry has finally been vindicated after the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) on Monday shot down the government’s appeal against a ruling by the Western Cape Division of the High Court, Cape Town.

The SCA dismissed an appeal by the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs against an order of the Western Cape Division of the High Court, Cape Town, which ruled that the regulatory ban on the sale of tobacco, tobacco products, e-cigarettes and related products, except for export, during the national state of disaster was unconstitutional and invalid.

In 2020 it was reported that the South African economy was losing around R36 million per day in tax revenue due to the sale of illicit cigarettes after the government banned the sale of tobacco during the nationwide lockdown.

The ban knocked the sector, putting jobs on the line and stalling local investment by the sector, with companies in the sector dented by the financial fallout amid the Covid-19 wrecking ball.

The SCA found that the ban had infringed the right to freedom of trade in that farmers could not sell and nobody could buy their tobacco. Tobacconists were unable to trade. Farmers were unable to use their farms productively and manufacturers were unable to use their costly factories and equipment.

This was an unlawful infringement of the right to property.

The respondents, led by tobacco giant British American Tobacco, were farmers, processors, manufacturers, retailers and consumers, situated at every level of the supply chain for tobacco and vaping products.

Finally, the SCA held that Regulation 45 was not strictly necessary or essential in order to protect the public or to deal with the destructive and other effects of the disaster, as contemplated in s 27(3) of the Act. In the result, the SCA dismissed the appeal and upheld the respondent’s cross-appeal on costs.
