SAFETY GUIDELINES
• RESERVATIONS AND DEPOSITS ARE REQUIRED. Prices subject to change.
• CANCELLATION POLICY – All cancellations are subject to a $20 administrative fee. Cancellations must be made by 4:00 pm, 14 days prior to arrival for any cabin and 7 days for any RV or tent site.
• CHECK-OUT TIME – Other campers with reservations make it necessary that you observe the checkout time. Check out time is 11:00 am for all sites and cabins.
• CHILDREN – Parents are responsible for the actions and safety of children at all times.
• FIRES – Do not move fire pits. Fires must be contained within the metal firepit. Please extinguish fires before retiring for the night. Do not leave fires unattended.
• QUIET PLEASE – At 10:00 pm all outside TV and radios must be turned off and noise kept to a minimum. For the enjoyment of all campers, all music/bass should be kept at an appropriate level during the day, so that it is cannot be heard at the next site. Explicit music will not be tolerated at any time. Golf cart cruising and excessive music are not allowed.
• SEWER CONNECTIONS ARE REQUIRED. Rubber Donuts are available at the Store for purchase.
• WILD ANIMALS – The Harpers Ferry/Civil War Battlefields KOA is frequented by various wild animals. Do not attempt to feed, touch or in any way approach these animals. As wild animals, they may become aggressively defensive.
• PETS – Walk pets in designated areas only. Clean up after your pet. Pets must be kept on a 6’ leash at all times (except while in the off leash dog park). Pets should only be walked by those able to maintain physical control (e.g. not a small child). Do not leave pets unattended, at any time. Pets are not allowed in the pool area, playgrounds, or campground buildings. Please have proof of vaccinations.
• SWIMMING POOL – No lifeguards are on duty. Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in pool area. Regular swimsuits or trunks, please. No swimming permitted in street clothes or cutoffs. Due to high chemicals, do not swim after the pool is closed.
• SPEED LIMIT – 10 mph. For safety reasons, violators will be asked to leave immediately. Two-wheeled motorized vehicles are not permitted for site-to-site transportation. All other vehicles must be operated by licensed drivers only. All West Virginia alcohol laws apply to all drivers.
• BIKES – Bikes must be put away at 10:00 pm. Bikes need front and rear lights after dark.
• GOLF CARTS AND ATVs – Golf carts and ATVs must be insured and operated safely by those 16 years and older with a valid driver’s license. Golf carts must remain on roadways and are not permitted on sidewalks and grass. Open containers are prohibited. Cruising with excessive music will not be tolerated. No cruising after 10:00 pm.
• TRASH – Please help us keep the campground clean by picking up your paper, cans and bottles. Full garbage bags should be placed in a dumpster or garbage receptacle. Please do not leave bags of garbage unattended; wild animals and birds love unattended garbage.
• GUESTS – All guests must register in the office. There is a charge for additional guests on your site with a maximum of 6 people per site overnight. Overnight guests should be paid for at check-in. Guests leaving before 10 pm may pay separately. Unregistered guests will be asked to leave.
• CABINS – Smoking is prohibited in all cabins. Cooking is prohibited in cabins without kitchens.
• CAR WASHING AND CAMPER WASHING– PROHIBITED. All car and camper washing is prohibited.
• TOW VEHICLES – Please disconnect all tow vehicles in the parking lot.
• ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS: 20/30 to 50 “Y” adapters are not allowed. You will damage our equipment, your equipment, and possibly other RVs.
• ELECTRIC VEHICLES: Campers may plug into the 30 amp OR 50 amp receptacle, NOT both at once. This pedestal is not designed to accommodate both receptacles being used simultaneously and will result in damage to the electrical system of this campground and your equipment. You will be responsible for damages resulting from incorrect use of this pedestal. Electric charging stations ($) are available at the office.
