WE ARE A FOREST WITH WILD ANIMALS. We do not encourage feeding them from your hand because they cannot tell where the food ends and the hand begins. Also, we are not responsible for the poor sanitation decisions of the wildlife.
FOLLOW ALL POSTED SPEED LIMITS.
Kids, pets and adults don’t pay attention when they are having fun. Watch out for them because they are not watching out for you.
DO NOT PUT TRASH IN THE FIRE PITS OR LEAVE TRASH OUT OVERNIGHT. We have many critters looking for snacks and don’t mind making a mess.
KIDS CAN GET LOST. Take a picture of them at the beginning of each day to help our staff identify them by what they are wearing. Notify a staff member right away if your child is missing so we can assist you .
PARK IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. We have enough roads, trails and sand in the park and would like to keep our grass growing.
HIGH WIND GUSTS HAPPEN
QUICKLY HERE. Put away awnings, portable food/shade tents or anything damageable by wind whenever you leave your campsite. Unfortunately wings are not required to fly unless you are a bird.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS. To help minimize the number of items lost, or carried off, please secure all items inside your dwelling before going to bed. Our raccoons are very fond of bright shiny objects and will debate ownership with you.
FIRES AND HEATERS ARE HOT.
Please remember hot surfaces can burn. Keep an eye on children and pets to make sure they do not get too close. If you have any questions or concerns about your campsite or cabin, please let us know right away so we have a chance to make your stay great!

HISTORIC FORT CLATSOP
The reconstruction of Fort Clatsop stands on the site of the original fort built by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805. History comes alive here each summer when National Park Service rangers, dressed in period buckskins, recreate life in the past by making tallow candles, dressing elk skins, building furniture and performing many other activities.
CATCH A BIG ONE!
Astoria is one of the best fishing destinations in the world. Here you can experience deep-sea or river fishing with an experienced local guide and hook into a prized tuna, salmon or halibut.
Most fishing-charter skippers will sell one-day fishing licenses to customers. If you book a charter, you’ll want to bring a lunch, snacks and drinks. Don’t forget your camera, rain gear, sunscreen, motion sickness pills and a cooler to store your fish for the ride home.
A LOCAL TREASURE
Fort Stevens State Park is a 3,200-acre landmark in Warrenton. The original fort was built during the Civil War and there are still abandoned gun batteries to explore. During the summer, watch historical re-enactments and military maneuvers. The beautiful beaches are great for walking, running and daydreaming. Enjoy biking, boating and hiking in the area. It is open year round.
ON TOP OF THE WORLD
After climbing 164 steps to the top of the Astoria Column on Coxcomb Hill, you’ll have amazing views of the area. Built in 1926, the column is covered with 14 scenes depicting Pacific Northwest history. It is open from dawn to dusk every day.
HISTORY ALL around us
Our great family campground rests in an area rich in beauty and history. The communities of Astoria, Seaside and Warrenton reflect the heritage of this region along the coast of Oregon.
• Clatsop County had been inhabited for thousands of years by the native Clatsop Indians.
• In 1803, this area was purchased and became part of the U.S. Territory.
• The Lewis & Clark expedition spent part of winter 1805 near the mouth of the Columbia River.
• Their journey triggered America’s westward expansion.
• The British occupied Fort Astoria in 1813.
• Years after the British lost the war of 1812, the U.S. reclaimed Astoria by treaty.
• By 1825, Astoria was abandoned.
• Missionaries came to this area in the 1830s to convert native tribes.
• Astoria boomed as the fishing industry grew.
• Fort Stevens was established in 1863 during the Civil War. Used until the end of WWII, it is now a museum.
Clatsop County is full of living history, from Fort Clatsop, Fort Stevens and historical downtown Astoria to the surrounding communities of Warrenton and Seaside.
