A binary compression algorithm called FIX FAST (FIX Adapted for Streaming) is optimised for the real-time delivery of large amounts of market data. It was created by FIX Protocol Ltd (FPL) in order to lessen the latency, and bandwidth needs of messageoriented data feeds. Major exchanges and ECNs are recognising and using this protocol.
