Warwick Ahead Community Plan Coming together Over the last 18 months a lot of work has been going on looking at what the key concerns are for residents on the estate. Warwick Ahead has been gathering evidence on what residents can do to make the estate a better place to live and want to be – now and in the future Big Local has four main aims: • •

Communities will be better able to identify local needs and take action in response to them. People will have increased skills and confidence, so that they continue to identify and respond to needs in the future. The community will make a difference to the needs it prioritises. People will feel that their area is an even better place to live.
Warwick Ahead Community Board are now writing a 3 year plan on how to prioritise the first spending of Big Locals £1 million for the estate. The main areas that people want to improve are: • • • •
More community facilities and things going on Less debt and less need for door stop lenders Better transport to and from the estate A nicer cleaner and safer environment
Decisions needs to be made as to what is prioritised and what will make a long lasting difference. Currently the Board are looking at setting up a Credit Union
on the estate that would give loans out to pay off door step lenders, setting up a Warwick and Knottingley community transport scheme and looking at exactly what will make the environment better. There is a lot of interest in keeping the Older Peoples luncheon club funded by Warwick Ahead going, and investing in more community events and to document the progress of the project keeping people informed in what’s going on and how they can get involved.

Tuesday 26th March at 6.00pm to give their opinions on what can be done. There will be an exhibition, a film showing about the Luncheon Club and lots of chance to have your say.
