First off, let’s get one thing straight – team building isn’t a requirement.
You can run an amazing, successful business by just supporting your dieters.
This guide is designed to take the stress out of sponsoring and make it feel as natural as chatting with a friend.
No pressure, no pushiness – just real, supportive guidance for your team members who are keen to follow in your footsteps.
However, recruiting is a fantastic way to build another stream of income, help others change lives, and create a legacy that keeps on growing! Ready? Let’s go!
What is Sponsoring?
Sponsoring is about helping someone start their own business with The 1:1 Diet.
It’s not just signing someone up and leaving them to it – you ’ re their guide, cheerleader, and support system as they take their first steps.
When you sponsor, you earn a percentage of your team’s sales (known as a Sponsor Bonus) – a little thank-you for the time and energy you invest in them.
The more they succeed,
Sponsoring Myth-Busting!
Let’s knock down some common worries Consultants have about sponsoring...
I need to be an expert first I don’t have time to sponsor
Nope! If you can support your dieters, you can support a new Consultant. You’ll learn together, and Head Office provides lots of training to help! Supporting a new Consultant doesn’t take as much time as you think! They’ll get their own Essentials Training, and you ’ re just there to guide them
I don’t want to push anyone into it
Sponsoring should never be about pressure. Some Consultants will want to build a team, some won’t –and that’s totally fine!
Step-by-Step: How to Sponsor Like a Pro
Submit an Intention to Sponsor
Find the form on the Consultant Only Area under Sponsorship in the left-hand menu.
Help Them Understand the Business
Have an open chat about why they’re interested in joining, what they want from their business, and what level of support they need from you.
Encourage Observation
Invite them to shadow you so they can see what the day-to-day business looks like. Seeing is believing!
Guide Them to Book Their Essentials Training
This is where they’ll learn the nuts and bolts of The 1:1 Diet. It’s a must before they can start!
Step-by-Step: How to Sponsor Like a Pro
Be There for the First Steps
Once they’ve completed their training and received their Consultant ID, check in with them. Help them with their first orders and first clients.
Ongoing Support
Keep in touch, answer their questions, and encourage them along the way. Think of yourself as a mentor, not a boss!
What If My Dieter Doesn’t Want to Sponsor?
No problem! Sponsoring isn’t for everyone, and that’s totally fine. Let them know the door is always open if they ever change their mind.
It’s important to respect boundaries – some people love coaching and mentoring, while others prefer to focus solely on their dieters.
Both paths are valuable!
Step-by-Step: How to Sponsor Like a Pro
Not sure how to introduce sponsoring?
Here are a few friendly ways to bring it up...
➡ "You’re doing an amazing job! Have you ever thought about sharing this opportunity with others?"
➡ "I love how passionate you are about helping people – have you considered mentoring a team?"
➡ "Sponsoring isn’t for everyone, but it’s a great way to build a second income. Would you like to know more?"
The key is to keep it casual and open-ended. Let them come to the decision themselves.
The Benefits of Sponsoring
Besides the personal satisfaction of helping someone build their own business, sponsoring comes with some great financial rewards.
Earn 8% of your new team member’s spend (First Generation)
Earn 4% from their team members (Second Generation)
At Gold Level, you unlock 2% from your Third Generation
At Diamond Level, you unlock 1% from your Fourth Generation
Example: If your First Gen team member spends £1000, you earn £80. If they sponsor someone who spends £1000, you earn £40 from them too! It adds up!
Check out the Pathway to Success document for a full breakdown of levels and earnings.
Common Sponsoring Concerns
(And How to Handle Them!)
What if I don’t know all the answers?
That’s okay! You don’t need to know everything – just be open to learning. Head Office and the Learning Hub have tons of resources.
What if my new team member struggles?
Everyone moves at their own pace. Check in with them regularly, encourage them, and remind them that they’re never alone.
What if they’re not successful?
Success looks different for everyone. Some will go all-in, others will take it slow. Your job is to support them at their own pace.
Best Practices -
The DOs & DON'Ts of
Sponsoring
DO encourage and inspire – you ’ re helping someone start their own journey.
DO lead by example – be the kind of Consultant you’d want to be sponsored by!
DO check in regularly – a quick message can go a long way
DON’T pressure anyone – sponsoring should feel like an opportunity, not a requirement.
DON’T disappear – be there to offer guidance when needed.
DON’T expect everyone to grow at the same speed – each Consultant’s journey is unique.
A LEADER IS ONE WHO KNOWS THE WAY, GOES THE WAY AND

Ongoing support and mentorship
When I became a Consultant, my Sponsor told me it would change my life!! Well, she got to say ‘I told you so ’ again
Because now folks, my sponsor bonus exceeds my monthly salary. I’m not saying this to brag or show off but to encourage anyone starting off or thinking of sponsoring that it’s worth it and to have faith that things will work out if you put your heart and soul into the business.
I used to have to work myself silly to do 3 full days at the bank where I worked, juggling kids in 3 different schools and nursery, after school clubs, family help doing a job I loathed with a ton of responsibility and little to no job satisfaction. I’ve now got confirmation that not only am I able to support my family on my earnings as a Consultant but GHQ are giving me a bonus that exceeds all that faff in my old day job as a thank you for my team being successful in what they love to do too - I mean how amazing is that?!

We are so lucky with this opportunity to be able to earn two streams of income AND most importantly change lives, this is honestly THE best job ever and I’m so grateful to my little team
