FROM WWII TO LUXURY DESIGN Danish Fuel original Jerry Cans come from military surplus stockhouses. We have preserved the original can that won the WWII, and added some unique features which have given new life to the old military Jerry Cans. The design is timeless. The handmade result is unique and of high quality and with a finish that speaks to the taste of any admires of luxury and history aficionados.
THE DANISH FUEL BRAND Danish Fuel came on the drawing board in 2010. The breakthrough to the international design scene came in 2013 at the Salone int. del Mobile in Milan. The world’s most prestigious furniture fair.

T HEN As many of today´s designs, Jerry Cans also origin from a time with limited resources and a necessity to create successful designs. At D-Day in 1944, more than 21 million of Jerry Cans were spread all over Europe. Almost 80 years later the Jerry Can is still in service all over the world, without changes of the original design.

World War II was a time with limited resources, and unique designs were required. The design of the Jerry Can was absolutely ahead of its time. It could be stacked efficiently, and had three handles making it easy to carry everywhere.

The old paint and rust are burned off in a furnace at 400 degrees celcius for 24 hours
The sandblasting process is to reach a pure metal surface
Laser cutting technique is used to achieve maximum precision for carvin
The furnace treatment, is to avoid making dents in the Jerry Cans when sandblasting

Design drawings are loaded into the laser cutter. After 10 minutes the Jerry Can is ready for the next process

Shelves for Bar and Unisex Cabinets are made of Walnut, Oak or Smoked Oak veneers are molded up into plywood
The teqhnique is powder coating Before painting, all Jerry Cans are washed off in hot water
The molds are made to measure the inside of the Jerry Can
The coating powder melts in the oven at a temperature of 180 degrees celcius for 30 minutes
Molding process: Thin layers of wood with glue between are pressed into a heated mold for 15 minutes
Powder coating provides a durable and virtually scratch resistant surface

The cabinets are assembled with antique surface mirrors, stainless hinges and screws

Your Danish Fuel design has a unique ID number. Embossed in a black anodized aluminium plate. Designed from a WWII octane tag A personal certificat is enclosed into the packaging
The shelves are molded up into plywood. The wood maintained with wooden oil. An aluminium tube filled with wood oil is included in the packaging We recommend to apply oil every three month
For the VOL2 Danish Fuel designs, launch in early 2017, the bar counter is made in plywood. Not with a mirror as in earlier designs

The 8th of May 1945. The victory of WWII. Maybe the greatest day in history of man. At Danish Fuel we are celebrating this day by designing this vintage infinity calender, with lots of stories and images from now and then. The calender is made of masonite wood. Calendar pages are printed on heavy recycled paper and can be replaced each year.
