AUGUST MOST POPULAR MONTH TO GET MARRIED

August is the most popular month to get married, with almost a fifth (17%) of weddings taking place then*, according to wedding insurance provider, CoverMyWedding.co.uk.

All the summer months from May onwards are incredibly popular, with twice as many weddings taking place in May (12%) compared to April (6%). January is the least popular month to get married.

Karen McCullough, CoverMyWedding.co.uk said: “Summer has always been the most popular time of year to get married, and 2023 is no exception, which is perhaps surprising given the cost-of-living crisis. Couples still clearly prioritise celebrating on a warm summer’s day, or at least the possibly of one, above finances as deals can often be found from vendors during the quieter off-season months.”

She continues, “Wedding insurance offers financial protection against a range of mishaps should your special day go wrong. This cover includes cancellation and rearrangement, which are the most common claims, but also theft or loss of wedding gifts and rings, failure of suppliers such as florists, problems with bridal attire, transport, cake, photography and video, and also legal expenses and personal liability on the big day.
