This beautiful ship is the reimagining of one of our most beloved vessels, Carnival Victory. It’s the final recipient of Carnival’s $2 billion Fun Ship 2.0 initiative that brought innovative dining, entertainment and recreation features to the entire fleet. The changes were so dramatic and comprehensive, it truly does look and feel brand-new. Thank you for choosing fun on Carnival Radiance and being part of her introduction to the Carnival fleet. We know you’ll have a great cruise.

Bon Voyage,

Christine Duffy President Carnival Cruise Line

The officers and senior staff of Carnival Radiance are leading a crew of more than 1,000 on the new ship. They bring extensive experience with Carnival Cruise Line, averaging more than 20 years each. Their service has included launching several new builds.

The Captains and Senior Officers Carnival Radiance has been commanded by two captains, one at the helm during dry dock and the other assuming leadership upon the ship beginning U.S. service. They and their team of senior officers comprise some of the most experienced mariners in cruising:

Captain Bonica, who commanded the ship during dry dock, attended Istituto Tecnico Nautico Caio Duilio in Messina and joined Carnival as a third officer in 2000. He was named captain in 2017 and has served on virtually every ship in the fleet during his two decades with the company.

ARIK MAZZI Captain Arik Mazzi

Captain Mazzi took the helm once the vessel began service in the U.S. Hailing from La Spezia, Italy, Mazzi served in the Italian Navy and joined Carnival Cruise Line as a deck cadet in 2000. During his 20 years with the company, he has served on a number of ships in the fleet, most recently as captain of Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Ecstasy and Carnival Victory.

Chief Engineer

A 25-year Carnival veteran, Lombardo followed in the footsteps of his father, also a chief engineer with the company, when he joined Carnival as a third engineer aboard Carnival Ecstasy. After working on a number of vessels across the fleet, he was named chief engineer in 2007 and has served in this capacity primarily aboard the line’s Destiny-class ships.

Hotel Director

The Cork, Ireland, native and 16-year company veteran was part of the inaugural team that introduced Carnival Radiance’s sister ship, Carnival Sunrise, in 2019. Bourke joined Carnival Cruise Line in 2004 and was promoted to guest services manager in 2009 before being named hotel director in 2016. Her hospitality career began at the Hayfield Manor Hotel after she earned her degree from the Cork Institute of Technology in Ireland. Hotel Director Caroline Bourke CARNIVAL RADIANCE 7

The quick-witted cruise enthusiast shares how the good times are about to roll right here on board.

On Facebook, social media and his blog, his fun but informative takes on cruising and life have brought him hundreds of thousand of fans.

Over almost three decades, Heald has become one of the best-loved of Carnival’s many popular cruise personalities. Thousands of friends and fans eagerly follow his daily blog and frequent social media posts, yet he somehow manages to make each reader feel like he’s talking just to them. Heald first caught the cruise line’s attention in 1986, when he answered a newspaper ad and was hired to join the bar department aboard Carnival Holiday. He was promoted to social host in 1989 and then to cruise director in 1990, helping to launch Carnival’s first 70,000-ton ship, Carnival Fantasy. He was promoted to cruise director and then, in March 2004, to the newly created position of senior cruise director. Heald has launch 17 Carnival ships as cruise director and says two elements of continue to impress him.

“Certainly the areas that we have given to children are important,” he says. “The real estate that they have on the ship demonstrates just how important our space in the industry as a family cruise line is still.

“The one thing that has not changed in my 32 years is the crew,” he continues. “Ever since I started until today it has been the crew that have always been and always will be our secret sauce and I’m so proud of them all.”

USA Today has called him “famously irreverent” and notes his “candid, funny and sometimes outrageously inappropriate daily missives about life at sea.” Carnival calls John Heald its brand ambassador, and what a name he’s made for the brand!

“JUST DO IT” By John Heald

Hello everyone. My name is John Heald. I am ugly, and have thighs that could hold up an oil rig. I also have the best job in the world, I am the Senior Cruise Director and Brand Ambassador for Carnival Cruise Line. Over the past 29 years I have worked on our ships and watched the company grow and continued to watch the guests have extraordinary off the charts fun. Cruising with Carnival allows something that the world we live in tries to suffocate more and more every day and that is worrying about what others may think of us, what we do, what we say and how we live our lives. Carnival Cruise Line is an absolute escape from that...

Love John Heald? Love all things Carnival? Visit, the cruise industry’s first-ever digital shopping store, for exclusive brand merchandise — from ugly holiday sweaters to cruise-themed charms, including one inspired by John himself (opposite page).

On our ships our guests dance like demented windmills in the nightclub. They sing at karaoke and make dogs howl across the Caribbean. They walk along the Promenade and stop, kiss and remember how much they love each other. They drink cocktails with names like “A Kiss On The Lips” and they laugh out loud at the Punchliner comedy club. Yep, our ships allow you to remove the stress of the world, to truly dance like no sod is watching and to do things that you have never done before. If you want to eat an ice cream for it. If you want to eat a pizza 20 minutes after it. If you want to take Grandma to an Adults Only comedy it. If you want to wear a Hawaiian shirt on elegant it. If you want to stay up and watch the sunrise over the Caribbean it. If you have only one hair on your chest and you want to enter the Men’s hairy Chest it.

Check out John’s Facebook page to post and share your stories about shopping the collection. To get to the shopping fun right away, point your phone to the code below.

If your name is Dave, you are 50 and you want to sing a boy band song at karaoke......get therapy. Carnival Cruise really is your kind of fun. Cheers John

A RADIANT TEAM The ship’s entertainment director and cruise director are a dynamic pair.

A DYNAMIC DUO ARRIVES! Carnival Radiance’s Lee Mason and Katie Eastham, longtime favorites of Carnival guests, are sure to keep bringing the good times as the ship’s cruise director and entertainment director, respectively. Mason’s energetic personality and Eastham’s playful nature spearhead a vast array of entertainment offerings from the line’s award-winning Playlist Productions shows, including the new-tofleet Rock Revolution and Broadway Beats as well as Celestial Strings and Soulbound, to legendary deck parties, hilarious performances at Punchliner Comedy Club and audience favorites such as Hasbro, The Game Show. “As cruise director and entertainment director, you have to have more energy than all of our guests combined, and as you can imagine, that is tough to come by,” says Chris Nelson, vice president of entertainment for Carnival Cruise Line. “Lee’s and Katie’s talents are obvious – within seconds of talking with them, you can feel their enthusiasm and see their expertise. We can’t wait to watch this powerhouse duo bring the new Carnival Radiance to life.”

Entertainment Director Katie Eastham

Eastham: Entertaining with Energy An award winner, Eastham is a versatile leader who has proven her perseverance, innovation and creativity at Carnival since 2012. As driven as she is organized, the native of Cheshire, England, has worked on 12 ships, serving as entertainment director and mentoring many of the company’s newly promoted entertainment directors. Mason: Going All Out for Fun Known throughout the fleet for his outgoing personality and million-watt smile, Mason joined Carnival in 2016 and has since served as cruise director for eight Carnival ships, most recently Carnival Splendor in Australia. The Cumbria, England, native has earned a number of accolades at Carnival as well as notoriety for helping to raise a record amount in a fund-raiser at the onboard Groove for St. Jude event: $40,000 on a single cruise, the most raised in 2019.

The ship’s godmother

talks about education,

overcoming adversity and having fun. And she just

happens to be the mother of Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O'Neal.

“A LOT OF LAUGHTER AND A LOT OF LOVE” Carnival Radiance’s godmother, Lucille O′Neal, Ph.D., is proud to be the mother of NBA legend and Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal, but that role is just the beginning of Lucille O’Neal’s accomplishments. She’s also an accomplished speaker, author and active supporter of many charitable causes. A firm believer in the importance of education, she returned to school after raising her children and earned a bachelor’s degree from Bethune Cookman University (BCU), completed a graduate program from the University of Phoenix and was awarded an honorary doctorate from BCU. “Seeing Lucille’s longstanding commitment to her philanthropic efforts and that she is the mother of our amazing Chief Fun Officer, Shaquille O’Neal, we thought, who better to serve as godmother of this beautiful ship?” says Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. We asked O’Neal for her thoughts on her roles as godmother, mother and activist:

LUCILLE O’NEAL, PH.D.: LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENTS • Board member, Orlando Ovarian Center Alliance • President and co-founder, Mothers of Professional Basketball Players • Founder, Odessa Chambliss Center for Health Equity at Bethune Cookman University in honor of her late mother, Odessa Chambliss • Author, Walk Like You Have Somewhere to Go 14 CARNIVAL RADIANCE

What does being godmother of Carnival Radiance mean to you? It was such a surprise and an incredible honor when I was asked to serve as godmother to Carnival Radiance, I immediately said “yes.” The fact that I’m joining a group of highly esteemed women – from celebrities like Kathie Lee Gifford, Queen Latifah and Katie Couric to members of the Carnival family such as Lin, Madeleine and Kelly Arison — it’s simply an amazing feeling that I can’t really describe.

You’ve worked extensively with women and youth facing many of the struggles you overcame. What’s been your message to those who are still struggling? Don’t ever give up. There’s an old saying: Tough times don’t last; tough people do. Even then, it’s important to surround yourself with people who lift you up each and every day. You never know what someone else is going through, which is why I am so passionate about being kind and encouraging pathways to success, especially for women and young children.

What has being mother of Shaquille O’Neal meant to you? Shaquille is truly one-of-a-kind. Not only does he like to have fun and make people laugh, he genuinely cares about others and donates a lot of his time to various charitable projects. I am so proud of everything he’s accomplished — both on and off the court — but especially of the exceptional way he represents himself and our family.

You did a great job raising Shaquille — what’s your secret? A lot of patience and a lot of love. It was such a blessing watching all of my children grow. It’s important to set an example and make sure your children realize that hard work gets the job done. Shaquille certainly lives this each and every day, giving so much of his time, treasure and talent to help others.

Shaquille credits you with giving him his strong belief in education. Why was that important to you? Studying hard and doing your best was not up for debate! While Shaquille always stood tall on the basketball court, I always stressed to him it’s important to stand equally tall in the classroom. Education is so important to success in life and all of my children have always had a passion for learning. When Shaquille walked across the stage to receive his doctorate in education a few years ago, I couldn’t have been more proud because I know how hard he worked and how much it meant to him.

You’ve also had a lot of joy in your life. What’s your idea of fun? My idea of fun is simple: being around my family and friends. Those are the times I cherish the most. And the secret to the delicious offerings at Big Chicken? Shaquille surrounded himself with the best team and chefs he could find. They all understood that it always starts with getting the best ingredients! Juicy, hormone-free chicken, along with delicious bread. From there, depending on your preferences, the rest takes care of itself.

LOOKING BACK AT A CLASSIC The biggest, the best and the most groundbreaking of her day, the new ship was a welcome addition to the Carnival fleet. Introduced in 2000, Carnival Victory was the third in Carnival Cruise Line’s highly popular Destiny Class series, following sister ships Carnival Destiny and Carnival Triumph (which later became Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Sunrise, respectively). It was groundbreaking ship in many ways. Weighing in at 102,000 tons, it was among the largest cruise ships in the world at the time — the first to exceed 100,000 tons — and was the most efficient, safest and most environmentally friendly cruise ship ever built to that point, and with a number of technological and engineering advances, it was the most sophisticated ship of its day. It is credited with further bolstering the success of the Destiny Class by featuring an extra deck of cabins and a distinctive décor. It also boasted hundreds of balcony staterooms, then a new concept on a cruise ship for other than premium markets.

“We wanted to put our stamp on it and bring it out at number one in ratings — a hefty goal but we managed to achieve it. I’m so very proud of the team.” — Stefan Christoffersson Carnival Victory’s first Hotel Director

The crew stands proudly on the top deck of Carnival Victory, the 15th of Carnival’s “Fun Ships.” The new ship was part of an ambitious program of shipbuilding for the cruise line, whose fleet now numbers 26 (with a 27th, Mardi Gras, coming soon!).

Left: The Seven Seas Atrium, where the ceiling evokes the beauty of the ocean.

SAILING FROM SEA TO SEA It was designed by noted interior architect Joe Farcus, whose creative vision brought a new theme to each ship. Carnival Victory featured a variety of dramatic public spaces inspired by the world’s great bodies of water, including: •

The Greek-inspired Ionian Room, featuring Doric columns and reproductions of ancient Greek vases.

The Irish Sea Bar, a piano bar whose design elements included green leather booths, carpeting with a shamrock motif and paintings of Irish landscapes.

The Aegean Bar, a sports bar celebrating the Olympic Games with marble-like columns and murals depicting matches from ancient games.

The South China Sea Casino, with interiors dominated by a sculpture of Neptune surrounded by four mermaids

The Caspian Sea Bar, Farcus’ own interpretation of Russia’s famous L’Hermitage

Club Arctic, which, like the name implies, paid tribute to the icy sea with walls resembling blocks of ice and couches covered with a pattern of playful penguins.

The Seven Seas theme continued on the promenade, the central passageway through the ship, which was renamed Neptune’s Way Roman god of the sea as well as a sculpture in which Neptune’s trident is held aloft by four mermaids. Farcus’ eye for the dramatic was evident in those public spaces, transporting gues¬ts to faraway lands as they traversed the ship. The artistic depictions brought worldwide landscapes to their cruise vacation, allowing a visual escape to famous cities.

MEMORIES AT SEA Throughout its two-decade run, Carnival Victory created memories for millions of satisfied guests — and for crew members like Stefan Christoffersson, its first hotel director. Now vice president of housekeeping, he says one thing hasn’t changed in all these years. “The core job is still the same — provide excellent and personal service to the guests.” He still remembers the first day on the brand-new ship. “I loved seeing the ship coming together during the summer in Italy. We wanted to put our stamp on it and bring it out at number one in ratings — a hefty goal but we managed to achieve it. I’m so very proud of the team.” His favorite place on the ship? The deck 3 bridgeways (access from the deck 3 lobby areas). “They are a wonderful place to relax with friends, family and hearing the ocean waves only a few decks below. Those lucky enough to find this gem of an area return each day and you never forget you are on a cruise ship. Keep an eye out for dolphins, flying fish and whales.” Although the original has been transformed into a whole new ship, it will always play an important role in Carnival’s rich history and evoke fond memories from all who sailed with her.

EXTREME MAKEOVER In just 38 days, teams transformed a great ship into a stupendous one.

Transforming Carnival Victory into Carnival Radiance was a lengthy and highly involved process, with more than 6,000 contractors working around the clock to make Carnival Radiance a reality. The third in the line’s highly successful Sunshine-class ships, which includes sister ship Carnival Sunrise, this is the culmination of virtually all of the line’s different departments and lessons learned from some of the most experienced personnel in the cruise industry. “We learned many lessons from the transformation of Carnival Triumph to Carnival Sunrise, from both the project side to the planning side,” says Lisa McCabe, vice president of revitalization and hotel refurbishment. “Therefore, for some of the projects in this transformation, we made adjustments in layouts based on feedback after delivery and consumer feedback on Carnival Sunrise.”

DEMANDING AND REWARDING Incorporating familiar dining and entertainment options into Carnival Radiance was a somewhat easier task than creating an entirely brand-new concept on a refurbished ship like Big Chicken. Bringing the new restaurant to life proved demanding and rewarding. “We’re excited about the debut of the first seagoing version of Big Chicken, created by our Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal,” says McCabe. “However, integrating a brand-new restaurant concept into a renovated ship has its share of challenges — from sourcing materials to equipment and logos — but we worked closely with our internal design teams as well as Shaq’s own personnel to create a dining venue that we know our guests will enjoy.”

“We’re always looking for fresh and exciting options for our guests and continue to invest in our vacation experience with new onboard choices, features and attractions.” — Gus Antorcha Chief Operating Officer

Opposite, from top, venues on Carnival Victory: Arctic Dance Club; Virtual Sea Game Room; Children’s World. This page, from top, new hot spots: Guy’s Pg & Anchor Bar-B-Que; Alchemy Bar; watch space in The Fun Shops; Guy’s Burger Joint.

The transformation completes the nine-year, $2 billion enhancement program that added Fun Ship 2.0 features to the entire Carnival fleet.

Other noteworthy upgrades include an expanded line of Carnival’s popular coffee bar Java Blue Café, an expanded shopping experience featuring reimagined retail outlets and the relocation of a popular dining venue. “The popular Guy’s Pig and Anchor Bar-B-Que venue is in a new central location in the aft area of the ship, with expanded seating which I know guests will love,” says McCabe. “It’s the barbecue at sea with a spectacular new view.”

FUN SHIP 2.0 FINALE Gus Antorcha, Carnival’s chief operating officer, is excited about all the new offerings the ship received in the final stage of the multi-year fleetwide enhancement, Fun Ship 2.0. “Carnival Radiance will offer a truly incredible vacation experience with so many options for guests of all ages, from toddlers to seniors and everyone in between – all at an amazing value,” he says. “Over the past few years we’ve introduced a host of branded dining and bar experiences, as well as top-notch entertainment choices and spectacular open-deck attractions, that have really resonated with our guests. When you combine all this with the friendly and attentive service from our team members and the fun and relaxing atmosphere that Carnival is known for, Carnival Radiance adds up to the ultimate vacation experience.” It’s been important to bring FunShip 2.0 to “every ship, every port, every itinerary,” he says. “Our guests really love sailing with us and having consistency across the fleet gives them confidence knowing that whatever ship they book they can always enjoy our most popular experiences — from delicious food and beverage choices like Guy’s Burger Joint, Alchemy Bar and the RedFrog Pub to entertainment options like Punchliner Comedy Club and our award-winning Playlist Productions shows. For Carnival President Christine Duffy, the transformation is a satisfying finish to the fleetwide enhancement program. “Carnival Radiance offers unprecedented opportunities for our guests to Choose Fun across our entire fleet and enjoy the widest variety of culinary, beverage and entertainment options at sea,” she says. “This investment in Carnival Radiance and our many other refurbishment projects reflects our continued commitment to providing our guests with a fun, high-quality vacation experiences across the Carnival fleet, regardless of what ship they’re sailing on.” All that’s left is for you to savor the fun and beauty of the new ship. Bringing a Shine Back to the Islands In 2017, the Caribbean was hit with one of the most horrific hurricane seasons in recorded history. Shortly after, the cruise industry played a vital role in the reconstruction of the islands. Being located throughout the Caribbean, Diamonds International was an integral part of the rebuilding process, and came to the islands’ aid by chartering planes with supplies, food and water, rebuilding homes and keeping everyone’s job intact at a time when it had to close 20 stores. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE LAUNCH OF CARNIVAL RADIANCE ™ Milano Diamond Gallery We are proud to go into the blue with you! Milano Diamond Gallery is a family-owned business that has continuously innovated the Caribbean jewelry market, from being one of the first trusted retailers in the early ’90s to becoming a manufacturer with an extensive collection of fine jewelry. Today, Milano looks to continue raising the bar with unique designs that use the best materials in the industry at unbeatable price points.

“My mom is my inspiration” — Rahul Kheskwani

Jewelry Tips from Milano Diamond Gallery Chief Operating Officer and GIA-certified gemologist Rahul Kheskwani offers this advice: 1.

Diamond Studs •

Go for size. Don’t focus on the color or clarity as no one is going to look at them too closely.

Always try them on. Diamonds always look bigger when worn than in the showcase.

“The Islands have been good to us, so we always need to give back.” — Rahul Kheskwani

Pendants •

Look for maximum sparkle or design. This is the most looked-at piece of jewelry a woman wears.

Try on the piece and shimmy around a bit to be sure it lies flat and doesn’t twist and that the chain is the perfect length for you.

Milano’s Baguette & Round Diamond Ring Collection is a perfect updated spin on an old classic.

Diamond Tennis Bracelets: •

Lay the bracelet flat. Examine color and size and make sure they all match.

If the bracelet is hard to get on and off, that’s actually a good thing. This is one piece of jewelry that gets the most wear and tear and you want it to be secure.

Milano manufactures the Dancing Diamond Collection using a patented mechanism for the setting to allow the diamonds continuous movement. A must see in port.

Milano Diamond Gallery raised $20,000 in aid for St. Maarten communities affected by Hurricane Irma. The company held a silent auction at the grand opening for its newest location in St. Maarten.

Adolfo Perez, senior vice president of global sales & trade marketing, on the value of booking your cruise with a travel agent.

How has Carnival’s relationship with travel agents grown since Carnival Victory was launched? Carnival Victory entered service in 1998, and as we launch Carnival Radiance in 2020, travel advisors are more important than ever. Our relationship with travel advisors has been focused on supporting travel agent growth and success by delivering on Carnival’s mission to consistently deliver fun, memorable vacations at a great value.

As Carnival Radiance launches, Carnival is proud to have been chosen by travel advisor vote as 2019 Travel Weekly’s Reader’s Choice for Best Domestic Cruise Line and Best Family Cruise Line and Best Travel Advisor Education Program. These awards are a great honor and Carnival appreciates the support of our travel advisors and their clients as they Choose Fun! How can a travel agent help someone experience Carnival Radiance more memorably than if they booked themselves? There’s always an advantage to using a travel advisor because they are Carnival experts. A savvy advisor will know that Carnival Radiance will feature Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal’s fir st Big Chicken restaurant at sea, as well as popular favorites like Gu y’s Burger Joint , Gu y’s Pig & A nchor Bar-B - Que, Fahrenheit 4 5 5 Steak house and Cucina del Capit ano. And only an insider would know that Carnival caters to special dietary needs and has a kids’ menu designed to satisfy the pickiest little eater.

“A travel advisor is a Carnival expert.” — Adolfo Perez

Carnival is proud to have been chosen by travel advisor vote as 2019 Travel Weekly’s Reader’s Choice for Best Domestic Cruise Line and Best Family Cruise Line and Best Travel Advisor Education Program.

Bottom left: Travel advisors know all the best places, like poolside for relaxation.

A Carnival insider can explain the kids’ programming and how Carnival carries more children and teens that any other cruise line. Travel advisors can describe the shipboard entertainment offerings that appeal to the entire family. Likewise, a knowledgeable advisor could suggest that the Serenity adult-only retreat might offer some quiet time for Mom and Dad, and the late-night shows at the Punchliner Comedy Club can provide adults-only laughs. A travel advisor is trained to find out what clients want out of their vacation and to recommend — based on their extensive knowledge of Carnival’s product — activities and amenities that will create a truly memorable cruise. How are you helping travel agents to understand the ship and all that it offers? This year we have our most ambitious ship tour and seminars at sea program to get more advisors on all 27 of our ships, because we know that to sell Carnival you need to see Carnival. On, our online portal for advisors, a consumer can sit down with an agent and look at everything Carnival Radiance has to offer right there, and they can make the booking online together and ensure they get the absolute best price available. What are they most excited about on it? Everybody gets excited about a new ship, and believe me, after a month-long, $200 million renovation, Carnival Radiance will be an absolutely new cruise ship. Whether it’s the Seuss at Sea activities with characters or playing around on deck at Spor tSquare or just lazing by the Lido pool, there are a million things to do on board. Carnival Radiance — like all of our ships — is built for people who like to have fun, and who doesn’t like to have fun?

LET THE FUN BEGIN! Here’s a peek at all the fun you have in store for you on Carnival Radiance. Fun takes the stage for families, singles and every other kind of cruiser.

Helping guests Choose Fun is Carnival’s top priority, so that means a vacation filled with activities for adults and kids alike. And it’s all on board right now: Hilarious acts at the comedy club (both family-friendly and adult-only), live versions of legendary game shows for the entire family, a rollicking piano bar, a high-energy nightclub and loads of camp activities for toddlers to teens. The ship also joins the rest of the fleet in offering WaterWorks, the awesome aqua park with not one but two twisty-turning water slides. It’s part of an exciting set of outdoor recreation area that takes fun to a whole new level (literally: on the top deck). The only challenge here may be deciding which kind of fun to choose first.

“Our guests all know how to have fun. They’re not shy and love to participate.” — Chris Nelson Vice President, Entertainment

Day or night, the good times never stop. Top: Sailaway deck party. Right: The party includes movies on the big screen.

TAKING THE SPOTLIGHT From one-liners to full-out production shows, a seemingly endless variety of entertainment choices.

Punchliner Comedy Club

The fun never stops evolving on a Carnival ship because “our guests all know how to have fun. They’re not shy and love to participate,” says Chris Nelson, vice president of entertainment. “Everyone loves to be entertained but our tastes are all unique, so to ensure an amazing cruise vacation for all guests, we offer entertainment all around the ship.”

LOUNGES Piano Bar 88 is Carnival’s unique take on the piano bar concept, amping up the excitement with themed nights, engaging décor and spontaneous sing-along fun. Feel free to request your favorite tune from the piano man— he’ll make the room come alive. The Limelight Lounge does double duty on your Carnival cruise. In the early evening hours, it’s home to the Punchliner Comedy Club, featuring a hilarious lineup of comics offering both family-friendly and adult-oriented performances. They’ll have you laughing ’til you cry with their side-splitting one-liners and jokes. “With several comedians performing during each cruise, guests are sure to find a style of comedy they enjoy and because we have ratings for families and adults, we literally have something for all ages,” Nelson says. Once the comics’ time is up, the lounge transforms into a sizzling nightclub where a DJ plays your favorite tunes so you can dance until the wee hours. You don’t have to stay in the club to enjoy great music. Live bands perform throughout the ship. “If music is your passion, we offer live music and DJs across the ship,” Nelson says. “Our bands come from all around the world and rehearse for a month in South Florida before coming aboard. They know a huge selection of music and offer various themes through the cruise.”

Take it back to the era of flower power, tie dye and 1969 Woodstock in Rock Revolution. “We take the music of Woodstock and add a contemporary flair.” Nelson says. “This show is infused with state-of-the-art video imagery, concert choreography and even a fleet of drones that fly above the stage in perfect synchronicity.” Don’t miss the gothic-inspired show Soulbound that incorporates R&B classics and mind-blowing special effects, or the rock and pop soundtrack of Celestial Strings with elegant and ornate sets and talented musicians playing live electric strings.

Broadway Beats

“Our production shows include live singers, incredible dancers and award-winning production design,” Nelson says. “It takes world caliber talent to create and perform our shows and we deliver on every cruise. “They break down the imaginary wall that sometime separate the guest and the performance.”

The entire family can enjoy breakfast with The Cat in The Hat and Friends with lots of delicious choices, including, of course, the signature dish: Green Eggs and Ham. Camp for Toddlers to Teens: Hanging out in their own space is always fun for the toddler, pre-teen and teen sets, and Carnival’s got them all covered. At Camp Ocean, kids 2 to 11 years old will enjoy age-appropriate fun including arts and crafts, games, songs and more. Circle “C” is where 12- to 14-year-old youths watch outdoor movies and join dance parties; at Club 02, the fun times for 15- to 17-year-olds include karaoke jam sessions and video game tournaments. “From our newly redesigned Camp Ocean for kids, to the brand new SkyCourse and Waterworks, kids of all ages have lots to do,” Nelson says.

Carnival is the No. 1 family cruise line, and it’s easy to see why!

WELL-BEING INSIDE & OUT Everything to make you feel completely . . . radiant!

If you want to spend some time relaxing and other moments getting a full workout, you’ve come to the right place. That’s because Carnival Radiance has everything you need to accomplish both, throughout your voyage. You may choose to alternate between the Cloud 9 Spa, fitness center and SportSquare recreation area and other active pursuits. At the spa, you can take refuge in the thermal suite, a haven to ease mind, body and spirit; or indulge in a soothing massage in a private treatment room. Can you say “zen and serenity”? It’s the ideal relaxation zone for your journey on the open sea. When you’re ready to get your heartpumping, head to the fitness center and its variety of state-of-the-art equipment to work your entire body while enjoying unbeatable ocean views. If you prefer an open-air experience, the expansive outdoor recreation area SportSquare is for you. There, you can shoot hoops, take a few laps around the jogging track or test your skills and stamina at SkyCourse, a suspended ropes course offering magnificent views to the sea 150 feet below. When day is done (and nightlife too), get ultimate relaxation in your stateroom, with everything you need to recharge so you can do it all again tomorrow.

Relaxing in the Serenity retreat (adults only).

Relax and plan your next adventure or your next cocktail. It’s all up to you.

HIT THE DECKS With all the choices in outdoor recreation, you can play hard — and relax even harder. Hit Carnival Radiance’s open decks and have a blast! Here, you can relax poolside and work on your tan while enjoying the ocean breezes or get in a workout on the jogging track. Aside from these two familiar sights, you’ll find fun new recreation choices you’ll want to return to throughout your cruise. SportSquare The sky’s the limit when it comes to outdoor fun and fitness at SportSquare. Challenge yourself on the suspended ropes course that offers heart-racing views to the sea 150 feet below. If you prefer to keep your feet firmly planted, there are lots more options. Grab a club and hit the links at the nine-hole miniature golf course, chalk up your cue for a few challenging games of pool, or get competitive at the foosball table. Been a while since you played table tennis? Then by all means pick up a paddle and get back in the game.

SportSquare is all about fun and games.

WaterWorks After conquering SportSquare, it’s time to cool off at WaterWorks. Slide down the 203-foot-long AquaTunnel slide or Carnival’s signature 212-foot-long Twister (but why not try both?) as you enjoy the exhilarating twists and turns! The tykes will also love splashing around in the kiddie area with its 75-gallon PowerDrencher, which elicits shrieks of delight from youngsters every time it tips over.

WELL-BEING Seaside Theater Film buffs and music lovers get lots of poolside fun at the Seaside Theater, just beyond the slides of WaterWorks. Find a lounge chair and check out the cruise director’s hilarious Morning Show or settle in for on-screen concerts by popular Top 40 and rock acts. At night, the space transforms into the DiveIn Theater showcasing first-run flicks under the stars. Laugh until your sides hurt with the latest comedies and sit on the edge of your chair watching an action thriller. You’ll want to watch all your movies poolside after this experience!

OPEN YOUR MIND AND SAY ‘AHHHHHHH’ Cloud 9 Spa and fitness center offer plenty of R&R (“relax & recharge”).

WELL-BEING You’ve set sail and are looking forward to some serious R&R but also want to get in some workouts while on vacation? Carnival Radiance has got you covered. Cloud 9 Spa There’s no more zen-like retreat than the Cloud 9 Spa. This refuge for mind and body offers the “ahhhhh”-inspiring thermal suite with both a steam and dry heat chamber, a haven to ease mind, body and soul. This relaxation zone offers a variety of specially designed environments that create varying levels of soothing warmth, from dry to humid. Feel the soothing of muscles and joints in the infrared sauna, heated whirlpool or hammam chamber. Private treatment rooms welcome you (or your traveling companion) for a variety of massages and “experience showers” provide a soothing fragrance element. Soak up the atmosphere while relaxing on special loungers with breathtaking ocean views. “Newly implemented on Carnival Radiance are the Restorative Salt Stone Massage where warm salt stones are bathed in personally selected aromatics,” says Luis Terife Sarria, vice president of guest commerce. “And Aroma Stone Therapy using a range of Balinese stones worked over the body resulting in sparkling vitality and intensely hydrated skin.” Fitness Center

Hungry (or thirsty) yet? You won’t be for long. Not with all the culinary choices on board: burgers and barbecue, sizzling steak, creative cocktails and lots more. Indulging in delectable food and creative libations is a must on a Carnival cruise, and on Carnival Radiance there’s certainly no shortage of choices. Burger lovers, you can look forward to juicy patties with loads of toppings from Guy’s Burger Joint, while the barbecue lovers will rush to the smoky scents coming from Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que, both created by Carnival partner and Food Network star Guy Fieri. Carnival Radiance is also home to the maritime debut of Big Chicken from NBA Hall of Famer and Carnival Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal. Aside from these, you can savor a juicy steak, dine on Italian favorites, enjoy sushi and sashimi or nosh on casual fare at Lido Marketplace. Poolside and lounging time calls for a frosty cold one or specialty rum drink from the RedFrog Pub or perhaps you prefer a signature cocktail at Piano Bar 88. No matter what your preference, it’s covered. So come on, live a little, indulge a lot — after all, you’re on vacation!

“We’re always thinking of ways to create a seamless dining experience, making it better with every sailing.” — Cyrus Marfatia Vice President, Culinary and Dining

The Carnival cruise experience is all about fun, relaxation and great food. Carnival’s culinary team made it all about the guest when implementing the ship’s culinary options. “The upgrades to the dining experience on Carnival Radiance incorporate guests’ needs and what they’re looking for,” says Cyrus Marfatia, vice president of culinary and dining for Carnival Cruise Line. What do guests on Carnival love? They love seafood and barbecue and “they are looking for the freshest seafood possible. And we deliver that on Carnival Radiance with Bonsai Sushi Express, along with barbecue created by our longtime partner Guy Fieri,” he says. Carnival guests also want a prime dining experience. “They’ve told us that and Fahrenheit 555, the steak house, provides that.” Marfatia and his team saw the popularity of these concepts on other Carnival ships “so we knew we needed to bring these to Carnival Radiance because Carnival guests love them.”

Carnival guests can get their fill of the fried chicken, steak, seafood and barbecue they love.

The ship’s culinary team serves new concepts and classic favorites — the recipe for a satisfying dining experience.

Big News: Big Chicken You know what else you’re gonna love? Big Chicken, NBA legend Shaquille O’ Neal’s new restaurant at poolside on the Lido Deck. “We’re very excited about Big Chicken because it’s new to Carnival,” Marfatia says. “The quality of the food is excellent. We are confident it’s going to be loved by our guests. People really love fried chicken – it’s one of the most popular dishes in the main dining room. Now with Big Chicken guests can enjoy the best fried chicken at sea for lunch and even breakfast in the restaurant at the Lido Marketplace.” Dining Delivered: The HUB App Always putting the guest experience first, Marfatia is also excited about integrating shipboard dining into Carnival’s HUB App for smartphones. “With the app you have the ability to order pizza and beer from anywhere on the ship – you just take a selfie and indicate the location and it’s delivered right to you,” he says. “It’s also great for facilitating the dining room experience. Through the app, guests alert us when their ready to dine and we let them know they’re table is ready so there’s no waiting.” The app can be also be used for specialty dining reservations at Cucina del Capitano and other restaurants. Knowing that Carnival guests always rank service and hospitality highest means “we’re always thinking of ways to create a seamless dining experience, making it better with every sailing,” Marfatia says.

A LITTLE CHAT WITH THE BIG MAN We had a few questions for Shaquille O’Neal on his restaurant, Big Chicken, making its maritime debut on Carnival Radiance after successful runs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

How did you decide to bring Big Chicken to sea on Carnival Radiance? I was totally blown away the first time I came aboard a Carnival cruise ship. Part of the reason cruises are so great is because there are so many choices on board, including lots of amazing restaurants. I had already opened Big Chicken in Las Vegas and most recently in Los Angeles, so it was only natural to bring this concept to Carnival Radiance and soon [in November 2020], Mardi Gras. The Carnival team and I are making sure everything is ready for them to officially open, but I can’t wait for guests to be able to try! Big Chicken’s based on your mom’s recipes. What was it like working with Carnival’s culinary team to perfect these homemade recipes? Carnival is all about fun, family and food. My mom not only has a unique recipe but puts lots of love and care into prepping and cooking her chicken to make it so tasty. The team at Carnival and I worked

very hard to make sure the sandwiches served at Big Chicken were up to my mom’s standards. I wouldn’t have it any other way. What’s the secret to making the perfect chicken sandwich? My mom always said it all starts with the ingredients. At Big Chicken, we only use Naked Truth chicken which has no preservatives and is hormone free. We also have the tastiest homemade toppings and of course the best buns you can find. The chicken needs to be breaded by hand and fried to a golden brown then topped with cheese, pickles, or whatever you’d like. I could take down two or three right now! What’s your favorite item on the menu? Wow, that’s a tough question. Right now, I have to say my favorite is the Big Aristotle with muenster cheese, fried onions, bacon and sweet and smoky BBQ sauce. Pair this with potato salad, homemade sweet and spicy pickles and my signature jalapeno slaw – delicious.

You’re only strangers until the first cheers.

WHAT’S ON THE MENU? With a tasty variety of dining choices, the answer is — just about anything you’re in the mood for.

Carnival Radiance is a food lover’s dream, with a tempting variety of international cuisines offered at a multitude of fullservice restaurants and casual dining spots throughout the ship. Bring your appetite for mouth-watering menus of virtually every style: from Italian to Mexican and classic American barbecue and steak. Be sure to try Carnival’s new dining concept, Big Chicken, from NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

Barbecue: Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Plan to use lots of napkins as you enjoy Guy’s favorites such as slow smoked and pulled Championship Pork Butt; Blue Ribbon Chicken and low and slow cooked smoked beef. Fieri’s own take on traditional side dishes includes Mac Daddy mac & cheese; sweet molasses baked beans smokey bacon and burnt ends; scratch made slaw and a host of BBQ sauces including smokey and sweet Kansas City style sauce and the award-winning sweet and sticky Bourbon brown sugar. It’s all lipsmacking delicious.

Buffet: Lido Marketplace Stroll the poolside venue where you can map out your food adventures for the entire length of the cruise. Extensive hot and cold buffets are themed each day, so one day could be Caribbean fare and the next could be Italian cuisine. Feel like a slice? Grab one (or a few) with a selection of five different toppings from quattro fromagi to pepperoni, at the 24-hour pizzeria Pizzeria del Capitano. Also at the Marketplace, you can help yourself to an overstuffed burrito on a fresh tortilla at BlueIguana Cantina. Bite into a juicy burger you can personalize with a choice of dozens upon dozens of toppings at Guy’s Burger Joint (as in Guy Fieri of Food Network fame). Plus, there’s the Carnival Deli with all types of sandwiches and traditional sides. Or you can cap off your meal with a host of handmade sweets from the dessert station.

Cheers to a mouthwatering menu of choices for many appetites!

Lido Marketplace

Big Chicken

New at Sea: Big Chicken At poolside on Lido is the first seagoing version of Shaquille O’Neal’s Las Vegas and Los Angeles restaurant, Big Chicken. Dig into a mouth-watering variety of fried chicken sandwiches, taste-tested by and approved by the NBA Hall of Famer and Carnival Chief Fun Officer, with names reflecting Shaq’s own nicknames for himself. There’s The Shaq Attack with pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw, spicy chipotle and barbecue sauce; the hearty Big Aristotle with muenster cheese, crispy fried onions, bacon and sweet and smoky Memphis barbecue sauce. The M.D.E. (short for Most Dominant Ever) and Shaq Daddy round out the sandwich choices. Crispy fries and traditional sides, all with Shaq’s seal of approval, are the perfect accompaniment. Need a morning pick-me-up? Try the chicken and egg biscuits for a perfect start to your day!

Small Plates: Alchemy Bar Tantalizing choices – called Alchemy Bar Snacks – pair perfectly with Alchemy Bar’s handcrafted libations like the Island Old Fashioned, Cucumber Sunrise or The Perfect Storm, which are created by lab-coated mixologists at the popular cocktail pharmacy-themed lounge. Special Plates: The Chef’s Table Join fellow food lovers at one of Carnival’s intimate dining events, where a small gathering of guests dine on a variety of delicious small plates. The series of specially selected courses and behind-the-scenes galley tour give The Chef’s Table the ultimate personalized touch. The Chef’s Table

DINING AND LIBATION Italian: Cucina del Capitano Carnival Cruise Line’s storied history with Italy— all its captains are Italian — makes this a must-try. Cucina del Capitano’s menu of classics are served family-style in an atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy Italian home. Not just a treat for the palate, it’s a delight for all the senses. The ever-popular singing waiters serenade guests; walls are adorned with childhood photos of the captains; kitchen aromas waft across the dining room, fragrant reminders of the captains‘ homeland. Start off with Nonna’s meatball covered in tomato sauce or with a creamy, housemade burrata served with chardonnay poached cherry tomatoes. The Captain’s Signature Dish is a rotating specialty that’s a choice among risotto, branzino, chicken parmigiana and many other Italian classics. Finish the meal with one of three Italian desserts and, of course, an espresso.

Steak: Fahrenheit 555 Craving a juicy steak? Then head over to this classic American steakhouse offering mouthwatering steaks and gourmet appetizers, entrees and desserts, all with impeccable service and understated ambiance. Choose from an 18-ounce grilled prime cowboy steak; a spice-rubbed prime ribeye steak; a 14-ounce broiled prime New York strip sirloin steak; or a tender, melt-in-your mouth 9-ounce filet mignon. Pair any of these with classic sides including creamed spinach, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes or baked potato with trimmings for an authentic American meal.

Fahrenheit 555’s atmosphere pairs perfectly with your meal which includes an appetizer, salad, entrée, side and dessert.

With so many options, you can try a different shake every day of your cruise! Try the Island Delight milkshake with pineapple juice and vanilla ice cream with coconut syrup, or one of the seven floats like root beer or coke. Grown-up flavors include the spiked rum and ginger beer float and the Frozen Irish Coffee milkshake.

Cheers to smooth sipping and all the good times brewing at the bars on board!

Feeling thirsty? Whatever your beverage of choice, you’re sure to find the one to quench your thirst on board! When the day calls for an ice-cold brew or Caribbean-inspired cocktail, head to the RedFrog Pub. Here, where the vibe is British West Indies meets Key West, you’ll find a host of adult beverage choices, from refreshing tropical drinks to bottle and draft beers, including Carnival’s own private label brews, and popular pub games. “Our guests love the fun and laidback vibe the RedFrog Pub offers, and the cocktails help bring the fun to life,” says Allen. “They also love the fun and laid-back vibe the RedFrog Pub offers, and the cocktails help bring the fun to life,” says Allen. “They also love to try new things and having three of our most popular craft beers has been a huge hit.”

Lab-coated mixologists at Alchemy Bar can “prescribe” the perfect cocktail for you. BRIGHT HORIZONS With not just one but three home ports — New York, Norfolk and Port Canaveral — Carnival Radiance offers a wide range of destinations in Canada, New England, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Throw in its kickoff Mediterranean cruises, and you have a ship that’ll take you just about anywhere in the world you want to go.

Carnival Radiance will spend April and May of its inaugural year visiting the classic ports of the Mediterranean. Guests on the 10- and 12-day cruises can discover the history and heritage of this storied region. Cruises depart from Barcelona and call at ports including Florence, Naples and Rome in Italy; Catania and Palermo in Sicily; and other Mediterranean stops such as Corfu and Malta. Barcelona

In June, the ship will cross the Atlantic for its North American voyages.

Summertime is the time to discover the British flavor of Bermuda, on four-, six- and nine-day cruises from New York in June, July and August. Explore the laid-back charms of the island, from sightseeing stops to the many pleasures of its waters. You’ll be plotting your return the moment you sink your toes in its famous pink sand.

With foliage colors beginning to turn brilliant and the air starting to turn crisp, fall is one of the best times to discover the endless charms of this historic region. Carnival Radiance offers seven-day cruises from New York to Canada (Halifax and Saint John) and New England (Boston and Portland) in September and October.

It takes two home ports to cover the many enthralling places of the Caribbean. In October and November, Carnival Radiance will travel to the Bahamas from Norfolk, Virginia; guests will visit Freeport and Nassau, two of the most welcoming ports in the region.

Canada and New England

Classic Caribbean cruises begin in November from Port Canaveral, Florida. Guests will visit the eastern and western Caribbean, sailing for six, seven and more days to the most popular ports in the region, from Amber Cove to St. Thomas.

The adventures don’t stop there. In May 2021, Carnival Radiance will reposition to Galveston, Texas, with a 12-day Carnival Journeys cruise through the Panama Canal. From Galveston, the ship will sail to both the eastern and western Caribbean, including visits to Mexican ports on the Yucatán Peninsula. Caribbean

It’s the perfect multigenerational family excursion: Grandparents, parents, teens and little ones each doing their own thing on their own and coming back to share good times together. It’s the kind of experience families can get when they book outings with Carnival Adventures, the carefully crafted assortment of excursions offered through Carnival Cruise Line. Multigenerational tours are a focus of the program. But there’s a Carnival Adventures excursion for you no matter your cruise style — for everyone from thrill-seekers to cultural explorers, couples to extended families. These one-of-a-kind excursions, available only through Carnival Adventures, are led by trusted local providers and are frequently reviewed by the expert adventurers known as Team Orange. “We help our guests experience the ultimate visit by giving them choices in excursions that are appealing to them,” says Erika Tache, senior director, product development, for the program. “Our adventures can cover all different levels of activity ranging from adventure to pure relaxation and everything in between. We also offer small-group VIP tours. We have plenty of options for our multigenerational tours, with different things to do suitable for different age groups all while being on the same excursion. If you are looking to give back to the community, we offer community-based tours where you have the chance to visit local schools or orphanages and make a difference to the places you visit.” With so many families cruising, multigenerational excursions are an important focus, says Tache. “We really want to make sure everyone can keep together and that there’s something for everyone.”

HOW CARNIVAL ADVENTURES MAKES IT EASY Here’s what you won’t experience with Carnival Adventures, says Tache:

NO STRESS: “We will help our guests avoid the unnecessary headaches of trying to navigate a port on their own, and instead guests spend every moment possible absorbing everything that made the destination so appealing in the first place.” You’re met on board by your guides, rather than having to wait outside in the sun. NO WORRIES: “We guarantee a timely return to the ship, so guests don’t spend the time looking at their watch, but rather enjoying exciting excursions.” NO MISSING OUT: “All excursions are thoroughly researched by Team Orange, who find the best local operators to show you around like an old friend visiting.”

TEAM ORANGE IS ON IT They’re the most experienced, knowledgeable team around, constantly fine-tuning selections to make sure everything is up to exacting standards — especially yours. The team is first off the ship and last back on board at every port, to make sure you’re having the time of your life. Have questions about your excursion? Want some expert help choosing your next one? See Team Orange at the Carnival Adventures Desk on board.

Carnival Adventures excursions can be booked online, on board at the Carnival Adventures Desk or through Carnival’s free HUB app. Before you set foot on the ship or even begin packing, you can have all your excursions reserved and will find your tickets waiting for you in your stateroom upon boarding. Now — let the adventures begin! Look for Team Orange to help you choose your next adventure. 78 CARNIVAL RADIANCE

RADIANT BEGINNINGS Carnival Radiance gets a brilliant start in its inaugural year, sailing from not just one home port but from three. Even more exciting, it kicks off its second year by adding Galveston to its home bases.

Galveston Pleasure Pier

We get it: Boarding and disembarking the ship is not the most fun thing you’ll ever do. That’s why there’s Faster to the Fun, a special shore excursions package that gives you priority status for check-in, luggage delivery, diniing reservations and more. It’s available for all Carnival Radiance home ports, when you book your next cruise.

CAN’T WAIT TO COME BACK: GALVESTON How do you top an inaugural year of fun, exciting exploration? If you’re Carnival Radiance, you move to one of the world’s busiest and most popular cruise ports: Galveston, Texas. Carnival Radiance will reposition to Galveston in May 2021 to begin sailing to Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America, including the Panama Canal. The move will bring to four the number of Carnival ships home-ported in Galveston; the ship will join Carnival Breeze, Carnival Dream and Carnival Vista. With these four ships, Carnival will carry an estimated 900,000 guests annually from Galveston — more than any other cruise operator — providing an unprecedented variety of cruise durations, destinations and amenities from Texas. “Carnival is already the most popular cruise line from Galveston, attracting vacationers from all across the Southwest and beyond,” says Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “With these enhancements, we’re providing our guests with more voyages, more destinations and more choices from Texas than ever before.”

Galveston port officials are just as excited about the repositioning as Carnival. “As North America’s fourth busiest cruise port, the Port of Galveston is pleased to welcome Carnival Radiance,” says Rodger Rees, Galveston Wharves CEO and port director. “Since Carnival made Galveston its home port almost 20 years ago, more than 7.5 million Carnival passengers have embarked from our wharves. As we grow, we’ll continue to focus on delivering great service to Carnival and its passengers.” Itineraries are subject to change, but Carnival plans to offer a full schedule of five- to 14-day voyages. The schedule kicks off with a 12-day Carnival Journeys cruise from Port Canaveral through the Panama Canal. Destinations from Galveston include Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, Key West, Limón, Mahogany Bay, Nassau and Progreso. In late 2021 and early 2022, the ship will offer 14-day Carnival Journeys cruises throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America and the Panama.

GALVESTON It’s easy to see why so many visitors flock to Galveston, one of the most beautiful cities in Texas. The island city is known for its ornate Victorian architecture and for the oleanders that blanket gardens and green spaces each spring. (It’s called the Oleander City, in fact.) The 36-block historic downtown holds more than 100 shops, restaurants and galleries, as well as intriguing museums dedicated to Galveston’s maritime heritage and its place in the Texas oil industry.

BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR CRUISE, TRY THESE ACTIVITIES: Stroll the historic downtown; seafood lovers will have plenty of choices at lunch. Visit one of the city’s many museums. Ride the Ferris wheel or the roller coaster at the historic Pleasure Pier.

NEW YORK CITY The city so nice they named it twice: New York, New York, the cultural and business capital of the United States — some say of the world — offers an incredible array of things to do and see. Featuring world-class museums, performing-arts venues and restaurants, the five boroughs that make up the city are famous for a vibrant and unmatched multiculturalism. Before or After Your Cruise Take a bite out of the Big Apple with one of these fun outings: Explore the vast Grand Central Terminal and the ornate artistry of its design. Have a picnic in Central Park. Take in miles of breathtaking views from the top of the Empire State Building.

With its proximity to Chesapeake Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and numerous river and streams, Norfolk gives new meaning to the phrrase “waterfront property.” It has a rich maritime heritage, perhaps most impressively as the home of Naval Station Norfolk, the largest naval base in the world. But there’s lots more to this Southern charmer. The 400-year-old port city has a lively art scene, and the cuisine incljudes locally sourced ingredients and international flavords. Before or After Your Cruise You’re in for a fascinating few hours with one of these activities: Taking a self-guided tour through 400 years of history on the Cannonball Trail. Boarding the Battleship Wisconsin museum, an historic landmark. Refreshing yourself at the Hermitage Museum and Gardens.

ALL GO FOR LAUNCH Port Canaveral’s brand-new $163 million cruise terminal — known as the Launch Pad — is the home of Carnival’s next ship, Mardi Gras. The two-story, 187,000-square-foot terminal will feature a high-tech baggage processing facility and a state-of-the-art check-in and security area. The six-story parking garage will accommodate 1,800 vehicles. “We’re building a great new terminal for an innovative new ship,” port CEO Capt. John Murray said at the project’s groundbreaking, “and we’re looking forward to welcoming home Mardi Gras.” Added Carnival President Christine Duffy, “We’re proud, honored and excited that our newest and most innovative ship, Mardi Gras, will sail from the new Terminal 3. We are pleased to be the port’s number one cruise line and Mardi Gras promises to be a spectacular addition to the Space Coast.”

PORT CANAVERAL Before or After Your Cruise There’s more to Orlando than the gynormous theme parks. Try one of these ideas: Head downtown for world-class shopping. Explore one of the area’s many parks and nature attractions. Taste the eclectic dining scene, ranging from fine French cuisine to craft breweries.

The lighthouse is one of the quintessential symbols of Canada and New England, standing watch on the sea to steer mariners past the rocky shore to safety. The hardy regions they lead to are home to quaint fishing villages, charming towns and elegant cities, all steeped in a past that is honored and preserved. People here know they are inextricably linked with nature and fiercely cherish and protect their mountains, rivers and seas.
