oN THE sTrIp’s HoTTEsT NEw ATTrAcTIoNs We all know the High roller is the eye candy of The LINQ, but there are a whole lot of other tasty morsels and unique boutiques along the 1,250-foot stroll from Las Vegas Boulevard to the world’s tallest observation wheel. With close to a dozen restaurants, several bars and shops galore— specializing in everything from stylish eyewear and hats to running shoes and novelty items—there is something for everyone. Vegas Player caught up with Jon Gray, The LINQ’s vice president and general manager, to get an insider’s take on the transformation of the Center strip. 14

The best part of the High Roller is… Taking in the best views of Las Vegas from 550 feet up in the air. Brooklyn Bowl is an experience that plays on all five senses. Explain the concept. I tell people that Brooklyn Bowl isn’t a bowling alley; it’s a rock and roll club that happens to have bowling lanes available for VIPs. Brooklyn Bowl has some of the coolest live music, with artists that you won’t find anywhere else in Las Vegas. Even when there’s not a show, it’s a great place to hang out and try craft beers and amazing food. What is F.A.M.E.? Inspired by the Asian Night Markets, it stands for Food. Art. Music. Entertainment. On the lower level, a culinary bazaar features great street foods of Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Korea, China and Vietnam on a menu serving dim sum, stir-fry, ramen, barbecue, crêpes and more. A stationary food truck offers fusion fare and will host various vendors, beginning with Fukuburger—a wildly popular Las Vegas truck that serves all-American burgers with a Japanese twist. In addition to the various dining options, a vast selection of Asian microbrews will be available in bottles and on tap. Live Asian-inspired entertainment, such as tiger and dragon dances and taiko drum performances, along with Gangnam-style beats—will keep the market festive. The upper level will host Fōchun, serving a hybrid of innovative Asian cuisine by celebrated chef Bryan Emperor.

Between bites—there are plenty of boutiques to explore. What are some unique finds? There are some cool souvenirs at The LINQ. It’s hard to leave empty-handed. Kitson features some neat Vegasinspired items. One of my favorites is a Cat Studio hand-embroidered Las Vegas pillow. If you’re looking for a personalized souvenir, check out the Polaroid Fotobar where you can turn your favorite photos from your phone, Instagram or Facebook accounts into classic Polaroids or other great art pieces. Any insider tips on how someone can get the most out of spending a day at The LINQ? Come ready to explore! I really encourage people to visit several shops, restaurants and bars. Also, if you need help planning your visit, we have the best concierge team in Las Vegas, located right next to Brooklyn Bowl. They can help you plan a great experience. Co m i n g s o o n ! Renovations are underway to transform the current Quad Resort & Casino into The LINQ Hotel & Casino. The remodeled property, with 2,256 renovated rooms, new retail and spa amenities and a refreshed pool deck, will welcome its first guests on Oct. 30. thelinq.com
