st year we unapologetically faced our oncerns, and truths. Some of us had to dbye to loved ones while others ed new life into their lives. The year ught us that we have to be more than t We have to be steadfast and patient so many unimaginable events unfold y and locally which impacted our l, educational, and healthcare es Yet, we did not waiver in the care ucation delivered to those entrusted to y ar we learned the importance of selfcare and mental well-being We did not apologize when we needed to take that vacation or mental health day. We understood the importance of checking up on the friends who seem like they have it all together when in reality, they do not The truth is, we don’t have it all together either and that is why we need one another.

The Omicron Chi Chi chapter held its 4th annual scholarship luncheon at the Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle, New York on May 14, 2022.
Through fundraising, hard work, and dedication, the chapter successfully awarded scholarships to four nursing students! The recipients of the scholarships range from an associate degree to bachelor degree levels in nursing.

IT'S OKAY TO BE SELFISH!
TAKING TIME TO CARE FOR YOURSELF IS NOT SELFISH, BUT BENEFICIAL TO YOUR HEALTH! HERE ARE SOME SELF-CARE IDEAS....
PRIORITIZE YOUR SLEEP GOOD QUALITY SLEEP HELPS YOU FIGHT OFF COLDS AND DECREASE STRESS
STAY PHYSICALLY ACTIVE. STAYING ACTIVE REDUCES RISKS OF CHRONIC ILLNESSES, MOOD DISORDERS AND INCREASES YOUR ENERGY AND MOOD.
AVOID STRESS-INDUCING FOODS/BEVERAGES SUCH AS CAFFEINE, ALCOHOL, AND REFINED SUGARS. LIMIT YOUR INTAKE AND ENJOY IN MODERATION.
PRACTICE KINDNESS AND GRATITUDE. INCLUDE PRAYER, MEDITATION, JOURNALING, AND DAILY AFFIRMATIONS IN YOUR DAILY ROUTINE
TURN OFF THE TELEVISION! READ A BOOK, LISTEN TO AN AUDIOBOOK OR MUSIC.
GET A MASSAGE. JUST 10 MINUTES OF SHOULDER MASSAGE MAY BE ENOUGH TO INCREASE RELAXATION, DECREASE STRESS, AND IMPROVE HEART RATE VARIABILITY
MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS DO NOT DEFINE WHO YOU ARE. THEY ARE SOMETHING YOU EXPERIENCE. YOU WALK IN THE RAIN AND YOU FEEL THE RAIN, BUT YOU ARE NOT THE RAIN.
