Omar Othman is a Jordanian Architect who graduated in 2016 from Petra University with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design. He has worked in multiple architectural offices in his region, in addition to working on his own as a freelance architect.

With his practical experience in architectural and interior design and his knowledge on multiple software programs in this field, Omar was able to develop himself as an Architect.

After being involved in both the design and construction process, he was able to develop the skills needed to help him implement his designs in the most practical and affordable way possible.

Bunyan Competition for Architecture in the Islamic Context | 2019 The concept of this design is to create a simple and modern minaret that originates from the original shape of a traditional minaret with the emphasis of Nur (light). During the day it stands out as a monument and during the night it reveals the hidden minaret within its walls with the use of Nur (light) and transparent concrete. The hidden minaret shape is displayed through a sculpture of negative space, mimicking a traditional minaret. It is made of fiber optic light mesh. The design can be used to display multiple shapes of a minaret with respect to the city’s history and surroundings. The lower body of the minaret will serve as a reading room with spiritual feelings.

Nur : The word nur, or its derivatives, occurs forty-nine times in the Quran. It is used in reference to God, Muhammad, the Quran, the Book, the Torah, the moon and the faithful men and women. Al-nur is often used in combination with zulumat (darkness) in terms that describe movement from darkness into light, and from ignorance into faith. (Wikipedia) R e nde re d by Omar Ot hman

Dr. Rami & Dr. Rana pediatric dental clinic is divided into two main zones, a public and a private zone. The public zone is composed of the reception, waiting area and customer service. The private zone consists of the clinics, doctors’ break room, and other services.

The user experience was a very important aspect of the design process. Starting with the design of the waiting area, which was designed to give a familiar “home-like” feeling for both the young patients and their families in order to keep them calm while waiting for their appointments, warm lighting and neutral colors were used for both the color of the walls and furniture. Classical design elements, such as the use of wainscoting on the walls and parquet flooring, were used to further give the design warmth.

On the other hand, the design of the clinics and doctors’ offices took a more modern look to better accentuate the state-of-theart equipment used at the clinic. The feeling of warmth was kept through the use of neutral colors and warm lighting.

Waiting Area : Since most of the clinic patients are young kids a play area was added to the waiting area so that the kids can play instead of just stressfully wait for their appointment which will help the parents and the doctors to easily deal with the kids before going into the clinic.

In Clinic A we added an LCD screen to the ceiling right above the patients head area in order to keep them distracted while the doctor is working.

Located at K. Faysal Ben Abdul Aziz street in Umm Uthainah, one of Amman’s fanciest neighborhoods, this La Roche chocolatier location was designed with its luxurious surroundings in mind.

The idea was to achieve a unique modern design that is simple, yet has a touch of luxury.

A variety of materials were used in the interiors to reflect both simplicity and sophistication. Light and dark wood gave richness to the feel of the shop, while the white carrara marble, glass, and gold finish stainless steel provided the needed sense of luxury.

The design of the facade was derived from the geometrical shape of a chocolate bar. The intention was to create a unique facade that delivers a message about the brand and its values as one of Jordan’s quality chocolate. * All the furniture and display items were custom made for the store .

Gadara is the ancient Greek-Roman name of the city of “Umm Qais�. It is a city that was once the center of attention because of its strategic location, and it is 363 meters above sea level overlooking Al-Yarmouk River gorge, Golan Heights, and Lake Tiberias. Gadara was one of the Decapolis (which signified the main ten cities in Greece).

The city holds great history within its ruins many civilizations have passed over the city and left their marks, including Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans. This history makes the city a cultural and historical attraction by tourists on the local, regional, and international level.

The project focuses on highlighting the city of Umm Qais (Gadara is the ancient name of the city), including highlighting its history, culture, and architectural identity. The project will be a new step in improving historical, cultural, and natural tourism in Jordan, by introducing new methods and typologies regarding museums, educational centers, and visitor centers.

The project will also raise the socio-economic status of the city by providing new job opportunities to the local residents and by giving any small business a foundation to grow upon and develop, given the new touristic interest in the city and historical sites it contains. The project act as a platform that brings both educational and spatial experience together, while endorsing a sustainable lifestyle and conserving the surrounding historic environment .

Morphology Because of the site sensitivity and in order not to cause any disturbance for the historical site and its ruins steel-based structure was chosen with almost no excavations for the site except for the steel beams foundation.

The result was a set of platforms connected by a middle part that acts as the circulation hub for the project with ramps and elevators connecting all levels of the project .

A reuse of an old abandoned villa located in Jabal Al-Weibdeh. The project aims to create a contrast between the current architectural style of the villa and a new modern style by adding new elements to it.

The new function of the villa will be a cultural cafe , and thats because Jabal Al-Weibdeh was known for its cultural diversity.

The idea of the project was to design an outdoor cover for the waiting area of the train passengers using a lightweight structure. A tensile fabric structure was used due to its structural properties including its ability to withstand severe weather conditions, strength, and ability to cover expansive areas with minimum support needed.

The concept was derived from the shape of a leaf and the shadow it creates in addition to the aerodynamic shape of a flying bird to resemble both shade and speed.
