Horse Riding< Omanâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s love of horses is ancient; it is a relationship that forms an integral part of our heritage and culture. Indeed, mention of the high quality of horses from the Dhofar region of Oman can be found in texts dating back to the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. More recently, Oman has enjoyed considerable success in international equestrian events. In recognition of Salalahâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s historic connection with horses and acknowledging the promise of our young riders, the Salalah Sports Complex will be the home of a new dedicated equestrian centre enabling our riders to train and practise for all three Olympic disciplines: dressage, show jumping and eventing. Of course, riders will be able to use the centre to ride for pleasure and there will be a full learn-to-ride programme. The equestrian centre will also have a flat course race track.
