The Douglas County Housing Authority (DCHA) Omaha, Ne. will take online Section 8 applications
Starting June 16, 2025 8:00am to June 18, 2025 @ 4:00pm
Beginning at 8:00am Central Standard Time on June 16, 2025 applicants can log into the website https://portal.douglascountyhousing.com/
to fill out a pre-application for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The application portal will close June 18, 2025 at 4:00pm Central Standard Time and no more applications will be accepted after that. Of the applications submitted, DCHA will accept 1500 applications. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, meet other standards for eligibility, and provide documentation as requested. All household members who are 18 years of age or older must be able to pass a DCHA background check and other standards. All applicants, accepted or denied, will be notified within 60 days.
Applicants will be placed on the waiting list in accordance with DCHA’s Administrative Policies. Applicants on any waiting list for other housing programs must apply separately for the Section 8 Voucher program. Applicants will not lose their place on other waiting lists.
The application portal can be accessed by mobile device, tablet, and computers. The Omaha Public Library has computers available to the public, with locations throughout the city. The DCHA office will have staff available from June 16-June 18, 8:30am to 3:30pm at 3211 N. 90th Street, Omaha, Ne., to assist those who need help with the application process.
