Peter Pan has been a joy, a challenge, and a great deal of work. As ever, many, many people have been involved with this production, contributing literally hundreds of hours over a period of more than eight months. I continue to be impressed by the talent, dedication, and enthusiasm shown by the students of both De La Salle and OLSH Colleges. Whether on the stage, in the Orchestra, or a part of the Crew, the passion, humour, and kindness shown by the students is what makes the process of directing a show enjoyable.
I have relied a great deal on a number of staff from both schools who have all volunteered many hours to assist with this production. Especially, I must thank our Music Director, Mr Luke Serrano, who spent countless hours arranging music parts even before rehearsals began. Fiona McNeil (Choreographer), Kellie Mentlikowski (Singing Teacher), and Lara White (OLSH Production Coordinator) have been endless sources of expertise and ideas. Having worked in this role across four schools in two countries, I have never before experienced the level of support that these four people have demonstrated this year.
This show has presented rich opportunities for students to learn and develop skills (not least figuring out how to “fly”). The music in this show is complex and has presented challenges that both the musicians and singers have had to overcome. For many students, this has been quite different to the type of music that they have experienced in other productions and it has been lovely watching them as they’ve explored this new territory. The show also presents a wide variety of characters, which students have enjoyed delving into. In addition to the usual roles, this year we have also seen students step into choreography, lighting design, and stage management. Seeing what each individual student brings to their role is always a highlight of directing a production.
Finally, thank you to the families of all of the students involved and to you, our audience. It is your support both during the rehearsal phase and at our final performances that enables us to provide opportunities such as this one for students. Your support of the Arts is very much appreciated.
George Arthur Director/Production Coordinator (De La Salle College)
Our story begins one evening in a street in West London where the Darling Family’s usual bed-time activities are interrupted by the arrival of Peter Pan and his fairy friend, Tinker Bell.
Much to Tinker Bell’s disappointment, it takes little to convince Wendy and her siblings, Jane and Michael, to fly with Peter back to Never Land where an adventure featuring Pirates, Mermaids, and Wolves awaits.
Our show runs for approximately 2.5 hours, including an interval between Act 1 and 2. A snack bar will be available during the interval.

Archie Cannington
Peter Pan
Having always immersed himself in the performing arts, Archie played a significant role in many school productions playing Billy in School of Rock, Elliot Rex in Agatha Rex, Sky in Mamma Mia, Smythe in The London Operation. Archie has thoroughly enjoyed bringing the iconic character of Peter Pan to life, and hopes you enjoy our retelling of this classic tale.
From a very young age, Niki has performed in many productions including the roles of Sophie in Mamma Mia, Gabriella in High School Musical, and Louisa in the Sound of Music. This year, in her role as Wendy, Niki has added another classic Musical Theatre character to her repertoire. The role of Wendy is double-cast in this show and Niki is performing this role on May 2nd, 8th, and 10th.
Sophia McElherron
Jane, Spec. Singer
Tilda Meadows
Wendy
Having performed in more than 20 shows in the past 10 years, Tilda is thrilled to have the opportunity to play Wendy in this year’s production, which she describes as “a highlight.” She has enjoyed the opportunities to grow and develop her musical theatre skills in this show. The role of Wendy is double-cast in this show and Tilda is performing in this role on May 1st, 3rd, and 9th.
Sophia has performed in a number of shows, but found Peter Pan to be one of the most challenging and also the most fun so far. She enjoyed working with her on-stage partner Michael to choreograph parts of their performance as well as the opportunity to make new friends and expand her skillset.
Max Jones
Captain Hook
Michael Conron
Michael, Spec. Singer
Michael has been acting and singing for the past three years and was recently accepted into The Talent Company of Australia. His past performances include the roles of Nemo in Finding Nemo Junior, and The Lorax in last year’s Junior Production. “I have met so many amazing people through this wonderful experience in Peter Pan and it has been so much fun!”
Max has been performing since School of Rock in Year 9. Now in Year 12, he is eager to present his interpretation of Captain Hook: A complicated antagonist with a mean streak and zest for the dramatic. James Hook is a quirky, flamboyant villain that Max couldn’t be happier to perform for his final high school show.

Madeleine Di Conza Assistant Choreographer
It has been an absolute pleasure to take on the role of assistant choreographer. Over the past three years, I have been involved in many on stage roles, but it has been so eye-opening to learn how much goes into our productions before the cast even learns their first dance move. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to support me as I learnt the ropes. Thank you to Ms McNeill and Mr Arthur for mentoring me through this process and thank you to the cast for allowing me to push you and for bringing all my crazy ideas to life! These gorgeous performers have been a huge inspiration to all my choreography, as I try to bring their strengths to the forefront of every dance. The way that everyone in this production has embraced and supported me in this role has made this experience everything I could have hoped for!
