Berlin High School grand opening set for Aug. 5 FROM THE

Another great year ahead Community members and friends of the Olentangy Local School District are invited to join us in celebrating the opening of Olentangy Berlin High School by attending the school’s Grand Opening celebration. The festivities will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, August 5 with a parade around the school, followed by a 1 p.m. ceremony which will culminate in the traditional cutting of the ribbon, followed by an opportunity for the public to tour the newly-built high school. Guests will be able to enjoy face painting, a photo booth, food trucks, a silent auction and an opportunity to visit apparel booths. Entertainment will include performances by
Olentangy Berlin High School will officially open its doors to the community for the first time during the school’s Grand Opening celebration to be held Sunday, August 5. the school’s new marching band, orchestra and choir. Berlin High School, the district’s fourth high school, takes its name from Berlin Township School, which opened in 1915 and closed in 1973. The former school was one of several scattered throughout Delaware County that were consolidated to form the Olentangy Local School District.
Berlin High School was constructed with funds made possible by voter approval of a March 2016 ballot request that included a no-new-millage bond issue. The Gilbane Building Company served as construction manager for the project. Fanning/Howey Associates is the architect. Like all of Olentangy’s school building projects, the
construction of Olentangy Berlin High School was completed on time and within budget. It will be open for the start of the 2018-19 school year on August 15. The start of another great school year is right around the corner. There is nothing like a brand new academic year with fresh starts and this one is shaping up to be full of new opportunities and excitement. During these summer months, we have been busy working hard to prepare for the upcoming year. The grand opening of Olentangy Berlin High School is slated for Sunday, August 5, and will be an afternoon full of community activities, including the long-awaited ceremonial ribbon cutting. Olentangy Berlin High School will open its doors to approximately 900 students on August 15, becoming the District’s fourth high school and 25th building.
